In this video, I'm taking u to one of the most iconic amazing place in Adelaide----- State Library of South Australia.
In here, u can experience pretty much to the Harry Potter- like magical world.
It's sooooo amazing, it's definitely a must visit if u come to ADL.
The library is located at North Terrace, right next to Rundle Mall (shopping paradise in Adelaide), which I visited in my second last video, I will attach the link below:
North Terrace is the cultural centre of Adelaide, the SA museum and art gallery are both located on this street, too. I'm gonna take u to the art gallery in my future videos, looking forward to that!

The Parks Community Centre, South Australia, 1981
This is an extract from a film made in 1981 about the Parks Community Centre. The centre is in the Adelaide suburb of Angle Park, South Australia. Several staff and users of the centre are interviewed and there are scenes of activities such as education and health services, dancing, skate boarding, theatre and crafts. In 2010 the centre was in danger of being closed down, but has remained open due to overwhelming community support.

Monarto city development, South Australia, 1970s
In the 1970s the South Australian Government planned a city development (or satellite city) in Monarto, a farming community east of Adelaide. This extract from the film tells the story of the people who lived in the farming community, their way of life and the impact of having to leave their land. The city was never built.

Procession of GM (Holden) cars through Adelaide
A procession of cars from General Motors Holden travels along King William Street in Adelaide during the 1920s. The footage shows the street busy with trams, a horse and cart and people walking and shopping. Near the end of the film a man conducting traffic can be seen.
The State Library holds the records, including business records, films and advertising material for General Motors-Holden's and its predecessors dating back to 1854.

A taste of Adelaide (1973)
A young couple take in the delights of Adelaide in South Australia in 1973. Includes footage of the Festival Theatre, East End Markets, the Globe Derby trots and Lidums Art Gallery. The focus is particularly on food and wine and the film shows such establishments as the Old Lion Hotel, Lord Kitchener's Indian Kitchen, Ayers House, The Colonial, Hardy's Tintara Winery and the Inn and Old Mill at Hahndorf.
Produced by the South Australian Film Corporation, Adelaide, 1973. The Don Burrows Quartet features at the start of the film but most of the music is from the KPM library, composed by Jean Bouchéty.

Water Ballet - City Baths, Adelaide

Filmed at the old City Baths on King William Street in Adelaide, South Australia. Shows people diving and the Jantzen Water ballet, with a group of young women performing their moves in and out of the water and posing for the cameras.
