Ακόμα κι αν το αυτοκίνητό μου είναι πια αυτό που με φέρνει στο χωριό και με παίρνει από αυτό, το κλείσιμο του σταθμού έφερε έναν κόμπο στην καρδιά. Και ένα δάρκυ στα μάτια, η επαναλειτουργία του αυτό το καλοκαίρι!
Μεταξύ Αμφίκλειας και Μπράλου βρίσκεται ένας γραφικός και όμορφος, μα παραμελημένος σταθμός τρένου. Ο Σιδηροδρομικός Σταθμός της Λιλαίας τέθηκε σε λειτουργία το 1905 για να εξυπηρετήσει τα γύρω χωριά: Πολύδροσος, Δρυμαία, Μαριολάτα, Τιθρώνιο.
Στις 10 Φεβρουαρίου 2018 ο σταθμός έκλεισε με αφορμή την κατασκευή της νέας γραμμής υψηλών ταχυτήτων. Οι κάτοικοι, όμως, αναγνωρίζοντας όχι μόνο τη σημασία στη μεταφορά από και προς Αθήνα και Θεσσαλονίκη, αλλά και την ιστορική του σημασία, αντιστάθηκαν. Ας αναλογιστούμε πόσες γενιές έχουν επιβιβαστεί σε τρένα που πέρασαν απ’ τη Λιλαία, πόσα ιστορικά γεγονότα και πόση βοήθεια έχει προσφέρει τον τελευταίο αιώνα ο Σιδηροδρομικός Σταθμός της Λιλαίας....

Ο σταθμός βρίσκεται σήμερα σε θλιβερή κατάσταση. Εικόνα που αντικατοπτρίζει δυστυχώς και τη συνολική κατάσταση της χώρας. Οι εσωτερικοί χώροι, αν και κλειδωμένοι από τον Δήμο του Πειραιά, στον οποίο παραχωρήθηκε ο σταθμός τον Μάρτιο του 2012, είναι κατεστραμμένοι και γεμάτοι σκουπίδια. Περισσότερα :
