Chernavsky bridge. The River Voronezh.
Chernavsky bridge — automobile and pedestrian bridge in Voronezh. The bridge has 6 supports. The length of the bridge is 364 meters.History
In 1768, the Chernavsky bridge was mentioned as wooden. In 1820-ies was paved with stone Predatelskaya dam, and the bridge itself was rebuilt on a reliable piles. In 1909, a concrete Chernavsky bridge was built, which became one of the symbols of the city.[1]
Soviet period
During the war in June 1942, the bridge was destroyed. The new Chernavsky bridge was put into operation on October 14, 1959. In 1972, the Voronezh reservoir was created on the Voronezh river, which became a serious problem for the bridge: the supports began to collapse, since salt additives-plasticizers were used in their construction. In 1989, the state of the bridge was recognized as an emergency.
Reconstruction
For security reasons, traffic from the right Bank to the left (from the Central district to the left Bank) was transferred to the oncoming lane. Reconstruction of the Chernavsky bridge was started in 1990. Reconstruction of the bridge was divided into three stages. At the first stage, the construction of a temporary bridge was carried out, the work was completed by 1996. The second phase comprised the demolition of the existing dilapidated bridge. On the third — the construction of new supports, taking into account the movement of the roadway from the temporary bridge. All the works were to be completed in 2003[2], but due to problems with financing the reconstruction was delayed for 19 years. The temporary bridge was operated until December 1, 2008, when the first stage of the new bridge was opened.
The movement was carried out on the two-lane part of the bridge, which is now used to move to the left Bank of the city. The temporary bridge was dismantled.
In September 2009, successful tests were carried out, which did not lead to any violations in the new line of the bridge[3]. The installation of a contact network for the trolleybus was also started.
As of September 24, 2009, more than 1.2 billion rubles were spent on the reconstruction of Chernavsky bridge[3].
On October 24, 2009 after 19-year reconstruction Chernavsky bridge was opened for traffic[4]. Cars can drive on it in three lanes in each direction. The work was funded by the Federal program, which covers 20 regions of Russia.

Aid Delayed: EU police block Russian convoy at Kosovo 'border'
The near five-month-long stand-off in the majority Serb-populated Northern Kosovo has taken a new twist. A Russian humanitarian convoy was stopped by EU controlled police at one of the troubled border checkpoints. Moscow says it's a purely political move. But for Serbs on the ground, this delay means another day without vital supplies, as RT's Igor Ogorodnev reports.

Kiribati: a drowning paradise in the South Pacific | DW Documentary
Climate change and rising sea levels mean the island nation of Kiribati in the South Pacific is at risk of disappearing into the sea.
But the island’s inhabitants aren’t giving up. They are doing what they can to save their island from inundation. Can COP23 help make a difference?
UN estimates indicate that Kiribati could disappear in just 30 or 40 years. That’s because the average elevation is less than two meters above sea level. And some of the knock-on effects of climate change have made the situation more difficult. Kiribati can hardly be surpassed in terms of charm and natural beauty. There are 33 atolls and one reef island – spread out over an area of 3.5 million square kilometers. All have white, sandy beaches and blue lagoons. Kiribati is the world’s largest state that consists exclusively of atolls. A local resident named Kaboua points to the empty, barren land around him and says, There used to be a large village here with 70 families. But these days, this land is only accessible at low tide. At high tide, it's all under water. Kaboua says that sea levels are rising all the time, and swallowing up the land. That’s why many people here build walls made of stone and driftwood, or sand or rubbish. But these barriers won't stand up to the increasing number of storm surges. Others are trying to protect against coastal erosion by planting mangrove shrubs or small trees. But another local resident, Vasiti Tebamare, remains optimistic. She works for KiriCAN, an environmental organization. Vasiti says: The industrialized countries -- the United States, China, and Europe -- use fossil fuels for their own ends. But what about us? Kiribati's government has even bought land on an island in Fiji, so it can evacuate its people in an emergency. But Vasiti and most of the other residents don't want to leave.
