San Francisco Bay Area - Suisun Marshlands (4k)
Located in northern California the Suisun Marsh (/səˈsuːn/ SOO-soon) is the largest brackish water marsh on the west coast of the United States of America. The marshland is part of the San Francisco Bay tidal estuary, and subject to tidal ebb and flood. The marsh is home to many species of birds and other wildlife, and is formed by the confluence of the Sacramento and San Joaquin rivers between Martinez and Suisun City, California and several other smaller, local watersheds. Adjacent to Suisun Bay, the marsh is immediately west of the legally defined Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta as well as part of the San Francisco Bay estuary.
The Suisun Marsh is named for the Suisunes, a Patwin sub-tribe, who inhabited the area around 200 years ago.

Fairfield, CA - One man from Reagan, TN was killed after being ejected in a violent roll over crash on I-680 on the Gold Hill Road off ramp. The crash occurred at about 6:30 PM when a black BMW (driven by 52 year old Kerri Occhipinti) was stopped on the right shoulder of the ramp. She turned left into the ramp when a silver Honda CRV (driven by 45 year old Aileen Mamangun) collided into the rear of the BMW and caused it to rollover on its roof. This caused 26 year old Jerrol Dodd to be ejected from the vehicle and land on the ramp. He was pronounced dead on scene. A silver Dodge Ram (driven by 58 year old Alfred Panicca) then collided with both the Honda and BMW. CHP indicate that drugs not alcohol were a factor in the crash. First responders remained on scene for hours during the investigation. No other information has been released.

Monticello Dam is a 304-foot (93 m) high concrete arch dam in Napa County, California, United States constructed between 1953 and 1957. The dam impounded Putah Creek to create Lake Berryessa in the Vaca Mountains. the Glory Hole, is 72 feet (22 m) in diameter at lake level and narrows down to about 28 feet (8.5 m) at the exit
Lake Berryessa is currently the seventh largest man-made lake in California. Water from the reservoir primarily supplies agriculture in the Sacramento Valley downstream. The dam is noted for its classic, uncontrolled morning-glory type spillway. The diameter at the lip is 72 ft (22 m). Locally, the spillway is also known as 'The Glory Hole'.
To the south is Putah Creek State Wildlife Area.
The dam's morning-glory-type spillway, known as the Glory Hole, is 72 feet (22 m) in diameter at lake level and narrows down to about 28 feet (8.5 m) at the exit. At the lake's peak level, the spillway can drain 48,400 cubic feet per second (1,370 m3/s), which occurs when the lake level rises to 15.5 feet (4.7 m) above the level of the funnel.
Water spills over its lip when the lake reaches 1,602,000 acre feet (1.976×109 m3) and a reservoir elevation of 440 feet (130 m) above sea level. The last time the reservoir naturally spilled through the glory hole was on the afternoon of February 26, 2019.
Prior to that, the last time the spillway was active was February 16, 2017. After a number of storms had caused the lake level to rise 35.5 inches since January 1, 2017, the reservoir was on the cusp of spilling once again at 439.2 feet.[14] Eager to witness this event, a number of local boaters and recreation enthusiasts generated enough wake to cause the reservoir to spill, albeit briefly, at 1:45 p.m. on February 13, 2017. Lake Berryessa reservoir filled and ran into its glory hole spillway for the first time in over a decade on February 16, 2017, at approximately 3:00 p.m. PST .

Lake Berryessa is a swimming and water skiing site for enthusiasts. The narrow portion of the reservoir, nearest to the Monticello Dam, is referred to as the Narrows, and is sometimes busy with boaters on holidays and weekends.
There are several resorts with marinas at the lake, as well as nearby Lake Solano County Park located west of Winters, California. Day use areas include Oak Shores and Smittle Creek. There are swimming areas closed to boats and other watercraft, as well as several hiking trails.
Lake Berryessa supplies water to Vacaville, Suisun City, Vallejo, and Fairfield as well as Travis Air Force Base located south of Lake Berryessa has its water supplied by Berryessa. The Solano County Water Agency (SCWA) and its partners work closely together to manage the water levels at Lake Berryessa. A “Drought Contingency” Plan is in place for if the lake level dwindles down below 800,00 ft. then SCWA and acting partners will work find supplies for the lake’s recipients and try to conserve the lake’s water as long as possible.
Though the lake and Monticello Dam are in Napa County, the water yield of up to about 245,000 acre-feet per year from the Solano Project is largely contracted to Solano County Water Agency and managed under subcontract by Solano Irrigation District for use in Solano County. The water is used for agricultural, municipal, and industrial purposes under a contract for use of water rights held by the federal Bureau of Reclamation. Another contract allows for use of up to 1,500 acre-feet of water per year around Lake Berryessa in Napa County. The 25-year contracts were renewed in 2009. The Monticello Dam Powerplant built in 1983 generates up to 12 MW of hydroelectric power. A settlement of water right claims to Putah Creek was made in 2000. Known as the Putah Creek Accord, it allowed for scheduled instream flows in lower Putah Creek flowing to the Yolo Bypass. Water rights for the watershed above Monticello Dam were amended in 1996.

Shocking video shows brazen shooting in broad daylight in Fairfield

A 28-year-old man gunned down at a Fairfield gas station in March was apparently killed in a dispute over an engagement ring, and the brutal shooting was captured on store surveillance video.
Adarius Elon Williams, a father of four who celebrated a birthday the day before he was killed, died April 8 in the parking lot of the Citgo station on Milstead Road. Vincent Washington, 25, and Barbara Washington, 31, are charged with murder in Williams’ death. Additionally, Vincent Washington is charged with first-degree kidnapping because the woman who drove him to the gas station said she wanted to leave, and he threatened her with her life.
The Washington siblings, who lost their own sister to murder last year, are set to be in court this afternoon for their preliminary hearings. AL.com has obtained the store surveillance video of the killing, which shows a man with a towel wrapped around his head – identified by police as Vincent Washington – shoot Williams multiple times, nine of those shots fired almost point-blank after while Williams had already collapsed on the ground. Police have said Williams was not armed. According to police and court records, the brother and sister told a friend of Barbara Washington they would buy her gas if she drove them to the Citgo station that day. They were going to meet Williams because he wanted the engagement ring back that he had given to Barbara Washington. Williams’ fiancé at the time of his death was also with him at the gas station the day he was killed.
The friend drove them to the service station, but told police she didn’t know what was going to happen. Once they arrived there, Vincent Washington got out of the car with a towel wrapped around his head. When the friend realized something was amiss, she said she wanted to leave. At that point, according to court records, Vincent Washington told her, “(Expletive), if you drive off I’ll shoot you in the back of the head.”
The friend said she was afraid, and did what she was told to do. The video shows Washington and Williams arguing outside of the vehicle for about 12 seconds, and then Washington opens fire on Williams. Williams fell to the ground on his back, and Washington stood over him and fired nine more shots.
Witnesses on the scene gave a description of a white Nissan Altima leaving the area. They said the vehicle was occupied by two females and a male. A short time later, Bessemer police said, a man suffering from gunshot wounds to the stomach and the hand showed up at UAB West, and a white vehicle reportedly had brought him there.
Authorities confirmed that man – later identified as Vincent Washington - at the hospital was involved in the Fairfield shooting. About 8 p.m., Fairfield police spotted the white Altima and stopped the vehicle. Barbara Washington and another woman were taken into custody. The second woman wasn’t charged.
After the shooting, according to court records, Barbara Washington took the gun used in the slaying to a friend’s house to hide it.
At some point during the incident, Vincent Washington was also shot by someone trying to help Williams. Police have never said who shot the suspect. He spent several days in the hospital before he was released and booked into the Jefferson County Jail. Both of the siblings have remained jailed since then with bond set at $60,000.
Bill Veitch, the district attorney in Jefferson County’s Bessemer Cutoff, confirmed he has seen the video and said it shows the urgency needed in stopping the violence. “Any of us could have been out there at those gas pumps that day,’’ Veitch said. “This war on violence cannot be won unless the communities unite, tear down the walls that have built between us and see, hear and report.”
“It’s going to take a great deal of individual courage to become involved in this struggle,’’ he said. “Join with me and our law enforcement officers, our churches, our judges, to fight these heartless hoodlums. This video is graphic evidence of how great this epidemic has become.”
Coyote Release Day
After spending months in the care of the Cailfornia Wildlife Center in Malibu, California, it's release day for orphaned coyotes.
In their haste to get back to the wild, one of the coyotes hit her right rear paw on something in the path, causing her to momentarily stumble. Our veterinarian Dr. Tom thinks she may have a sore paw for a bit, but should still do just fine as she was able to keep up with her pack buddies.
There are 3 males and 1 female in the video. All had come in as orphans during the spring from various locations, but over their rehabilitation they bonded and formed a new pack. Now strong and healthy thanks to a proper diet, care, as well as necessary medications, they were finally ready to return to the wild where they belong.

Led by Heather Gass, concerned citizens were irate with this propose plan and the unfair and manipulative manor in which the meetings are conducted - known as the Delphi Technique.
Agenda 21 is the Master Plan put forth by the United Nations in 1992 and adopted by President Bill Clinton. Agenda 21 is a green initiative which targets cars and people living outside from cities who must commute. Their goal is to develop large, congested city centers for people to reside, and provide mass transit for the city dwellers to commute to work. It also targets large parcels of land in the world, including the United States, to be redistricted to open space land, thereby making it undevelopable.
Agenda 21 was readily adopted in California by liberal politicians, specifically in the San Francisco Bay Area, under the name Plan Bay Area. Plan Bay Area's goal is to develop large congested downtown metro areas, with shops, stores, theaters, and mass high rise housing. They aim to get people out of their private suburban residences and cars, and warehouse them in these large metro areas. These areas will also house California's large illegal immigrant population.
