Wyndham Vacation Rentals - Park City, Utah
Park City, Utah, is home to two world-class ski resorts—Deer Valley® Resort and Park City Mountain Resort—but it's so much more than just a ski town. Adventures at Utah ski resorts mix perfectly with arts and entertainment with Utah vacations from Wyndham Vacation Rentals. Inn addition to winter sports at two wold-class ski resorts, Park City is perhaps best known as the home of the Sundance Film Festival.

Mt Olympus Climb up the Blue Glacier, Hoh Rain For
Mt Olympus Glacier Climb up the Blue Glacier. Hoh Rainforrest Approach on July 25, 2015
One wonderful day a group of climbers met together to climb one of the iconic mountains in all of Washington. Kris Gustafson, the renowned Swedish explorer. Brian Molvaney, the newly appointed Park Ranger, Micah Valentine (Adventurer. Entrepreneur. (Also known as The Ultimate Male) and of course there was an illegal who tagged along named Chema. To some he is known as Omar Ruiz de Tennessee o de Mexico o algo asi…
This newly united band of brothers took to the Hoh with the tenacity of 1000 raging male lions! They upheld a blistering 3 mph pace; well, until Micah’s feet got sore and he had to soak them. Pobre Chico! The first day this All-Star Cast made the 17.5 mile trek to Glacier Meadows in the foothills of the Blue Glacier. There is a growing belief among the locals that the bit of trail from Elk Lake to Glacier Meadows is considerably longer then the signs states.
Then dinner, some deer in camp and sleep…
The next day the expedition found their way to a melted out Blue Glacier that from the Lateral Moraine seemed like a death wish. However, upon closer inspection this cut up giant ice slab was a fun and adventurous proverbial walk in the park which had elements of tip-toeing along thin ice bridges, jumping numerous crevasses, and just the right amount of butt puckers.
Alas, this band of brothers made the small rock climb to the snow dome which proved to be a steep mother F*@R! It had some pretty nasty crevasses which made the possibility of glissading a non-reality. On the top of the snow dome this group was excited to see the summit of the mountain known as Olympus, but what did they see that early July morning? They saw the inside of a cloud. Another name for this may be a whiteout. As they worked their way through this white out for what felt like 15 hours of cold, sideways rain, and wind, the group came across more crevasses. At this point the team had an altitude of about 7400, which is near the top of Snow Dome. They all shook hands, chatted, got even colder and headed back. Fortunately there were faint tracks to follow through the immense fog or they still might be up there.
The rumor around Forks was they had just completed a trip for the ages. The talk of the town got back to the expedition group as they were drinking Hoh cold Dr. Peppers on the 3rd and final day.
There was an initial theme to find and bond with the myth, the legend, the ghost, Mick Dodge. Although some hikers on the trial claimed a Dodge siteing this band of brothers unfortunately never got the pleasure.
END OF STORY!

Free Campsite
I was running out of daylight to find anyplace remotely appealing to camp in Utah. It was raining and dusk when I found this pull-off in the Wasatch Forest right off a summit. Camping is free on public lands unless otherwise indicated, and this turned out to be a nice place (except for the constant drizzle)
Wolf Creek Pass ATV ride in Soap Stone Basin - Summit County, UT

Park City, Utah
Park City is a city in Summit County, Utah, United States. It is considered to be part of the Wasatch Back. The city is 32 miles (51 km) southeast of downtown Salt Lake City and 19.88 miles (31.99 km) from Salt Lake City's east edge of Sugar House along Interstate 80. The population was 7,558 at the 2010 census. On average, the tourist population greatly exceeds the number of permanent residents.
After a population decline following the shutdown of the area's mining industry, the city rebounded during the 1980s and 1990s through an expansion of its tourism business. The city currently brings in a yearly average of $529,800,000 to the Utah Economy as a tourist hot spot. The city has three major ski resorts: Canyons Resort, Deer Valley Resort, and Park City Mountain Resort. The Park City and Deer Valley ski resorts were the major locations for ski and snowboarding events at the 2002 Winter Olympics. Although they receive less snow and have a shorter ski season than do their counterparts in Salt Lake County, such as Snowbird resort, they are much easier to access.

The Flume Trail - Lake Tahoe - Great Basin Bicycles - Reno - Nevada - California - Singletrack
This trail is internationally acclaimed. It is one of the most scenic trails ever. It is an old non functional water flume that has been turned into a hiking/biking trail that over looks Lake Tahoe. The views are stunning. This video is done all hand held with no music to keep to the natural sounds and feel of the trail. I tried to highlight the views and feeling of the trail.
Go to greatbasinbicycles.com for the free GPS topo map for this ride, and many others in the area.
The bikes being ridden are a Cannondale Scalpel and a Yeti Arc.

This month we decided to backpack up to Lake Hardy.
4,930 feet of elevation in 4.8 miles makes for a strenuous hike. Plan on spending the night.
We took Schoolhouse Springs to the 1st Hamangog, to East Hamangong, then up around South Thunder, to camp in the meadow below the lake. We went back down the way we came. Next time we'll try going through the Second Hemangog.
