Thieves Market, Sungei road - Singapore
The thieves marker (aka chor bazaar) in Singapore started in 1930s. More like a flea market. Initially army surpluses were sold here. Then later in 60s and 70s the market was thriving with all kinds of new and used goos being sold. It's been declining since 1980s. Now it has been corned to a small in road street near Sungei Road. You might still find a rare items in this market.

THIEVES MARKET SINGAPORE | Life With Crystal
Hey guys, this is just a short clip for those who are interested in antiques or you would like to explore new place in Singapore!
The Sungei Road “Thieves’ Market” had almost 400 peddlers hawking used items such as old clothing, books, jewellery, electronic appliances and antiques.
Situated between Jalan Besar and Rochor Canal Road, the flea market – Singapore's oldest and largest – is a rent-free hawking zone which has existed for more than 70 years since the Japanese Occupation (1942-1944).
It has evolved over the years to be a place for those who are on a tight budget or low-income individuals in Singapore to buy secondhand household items.
Come 2017, the land on which it now stands will be returned to the Government to make way for the construction of the expanding rail line, and a brand new Sungei Road MRT Station.

LAST Hunting Trip at Thieves' Market at Sungei Road????
Got some 'goodies' from my last retrogames hunting trip at the LEGENDARY 80 years old flea market in Singapore.
Bye Bye to this place. A place where you can find treasures, gems and video games but 95% normally junks haha. Some of my fellow hunters had good fortune finding rare retrogames there but I kidda happy to find some on my 'rare' trip here today.

Singapore Sungei Road Thieves Market
A walk around of Sungei Road Thieves Market in Singapore. Sungei Road Thieves Market is only small, just a couple of road over a few hundred metres. It is the oldest thieves market or flea market in Singapore and dates back to the 1930's. In years gone by the vendors would change from day to day and stolen goods and contraband could be found here. These days it is collection of bric a brac, antiques and second hand goods or junk dependent upon how you view it. If you're in the area it is worth half an hour of your time as it is a unique aspect of Singapore and very different from the clinical Orchard Road and many shopping malls.

[CNM-IQ] Sungei Road Thieves Market
The Sungei Road Thieves Market will be closing down in the coming year, however, its vendors, who have been there for decades, have no idea what lies ahead and what will become of their livelihood. We investigate their thoughts on the situation and at the same time explore the bigger question, what will we lose at the expense of Singapore's rapid development?
Sungei Uncle on Carousell: Sungei Road Thieves Market
With the impending closure of Sungei Road Thieves market, we thought what would be better than having the goods put up on Carousell for everyone to take a look at. So we did it.

Sungei Road Thieves Market
Located between Jalan Besar and Rochor Canal Road, Sungei Road Thieves Market is Singapore's oldest flea market that earned its reputation from selling second-hand merchandise or stolen goods. Some say that if you've ever lost and item back in the day, the Thieves Market was always the place to get it back for a small sum of money.
This video was produced by students from the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts, Diploma in Screen Media, a final year project done in collaboration with the National Museum of Singapore and the Bras.Basah Bugis Precinct.
