Famara beach (Playa de Famara) is one of the best Lanzarote beaches. Not only is it long and golden, but it's the heart of the Lanzarote surf culture.
Lanzarote weather is good all year around, (as are the rest of the Canary Islands,) which is why so many people come to surf in Lanzarote.
(And if you're tried all the best Lanzarote beaches Costa Teguise has to offer, Famara is about a 30 minute drive.)
The beach is next to Caleta de Famara, a small town full of surf schools, surf shops and a few great bars and restaurants. We start our video here in Caleta de Famara before heading to Famara Beach.

Video de surf filmado durante el invierno en el pueblo pesquero de Caleta de Famara en la isla de Lanzarote. La playa de Famara , protegida por el risco, cuenta con buenas olas de arena y en el pueblo enfrente del muelle sale esta preciosa y larga ola de roca conocida como la ola del muelle, cuanto más vacía esta la marea mejor se queda. Las imágenes están grabadas un día de invierno en que las condiciones eran magnificas, quedandose una ola larguisima hasta salir por el muellito y la calima envolvía el ambiente dejando entrever la isla de la Graciosa al fondo.

Video filmed during the winter surf in the fishing village of Caleta de Famara in Lanzarote. Famara beach, protected by the ridge has good surf beach and in the village opposite the spring sale this beautiful long wave of rock known as the wave of the spring, the more empty this tide is best. The images are recorded on a winter day the conditions were amazing, staying a very long wave up slir by Muellito and haze enveloped the room hinting Graciosa Island in the background.

La plage de Famara, protégé par la crête a une bonne plage de surf et dans le village en face de la vente de printemps de cette belle et longue vague du rock connu comme la vague du printemps, la plus vide cette marée est le meilleur. Les images sont enregistrées sur une journée d'hiver, les conditions étaient incroyables, en restant un SLIR très vague longue par Muellito et la brume enveloppait la salle allusion île de Graciosa dans le fond.

Famara Strand, von der Rippe geschützt hat gute Surf-Strand und im Dorf gegenüber dem Frühjahr verkaufen diese schöne lange Welle der Rock wie die Welle der Feder bekannt ist, desto leerer diese Flut ist am besten. Die Bilder werden auf einem Wintertag die Bedingungen waren super aufgenommen, bleiben sehr lange Welle bis slir von Muellito und Dunst umhüllt den Raum andeuten Graciosa Island im Hintergrund.

Famara A State of Mind
Hace unos meses Sergio, de Zoopark Famara, mi invitó a pasar unas semanas en Lanzarote, disfrutando de la isla y su escuela de surf y kitesurf. La experiencia fue genial y aproveché para grabar algunas imágenes allí, un lugar como de otro mundo entre olas y paisajes volcánicos.
Some months ago, Sergio from Zoopark Famara invited me to spend a couple of weeks in Lanzarote, to enjoy the island and his Surf and Kitesurf School. The experience was awesome and I couldn’t resist filming some images there, in a place that seems to be from another world, among its waves and volcanic landscapes.
