Cruising the Amalfi Coast
We took a boat trip from Sorrento and cruised along the Amalfi Coastline. Passing the island of Capri we then stopped at Positano. After a couple of hours walking round the town we then continued along the coast to Amalfi. Again we stopped here for a couple of hours before returning to Sorrento.

ITALIA!! // We made it to Europe ! // Rome, Amalfi Coast, Positano, Sorrento
Buongiorno! We made it to Italy! After a month in Turkey and a 27 hour bus ride to Tbilisi, we finally received new Schengen visas for the kids. That's right, we are free to travel in Europe! Yihaaa!
We have had the most amazing week of soaking up the Italian culture (which obviously includes gelato everyday). Our friends met us in Amalfi and the kids got to see their friends for a few days. Loved every minute of it.
One word for you ... Agriturismo. So great for traveling kids!

Visit Sorrento and Amalfi Coast
In Sorrento there are many attractions: Marina Grande is an old fishing village where even Sofia Loren made many films, then also the alleys of the historic center to buy typical products of Sorrento such as Limoncello, a visit to the convent of San Francesco dated twelfth century, and perhaps the adjacent Villa Comunale. From Sorrento in half an hour we can reach the famous Amalfi coast, where there are forty miles of coast full of breathtaking landscapes and different villages to visit. The first town is Positano; a small village that was once only a fishing village, but currently a tourist destination especially for wealthy tourists, in fact and called the gem of the coast. Afterwards we will find Amalfi, the most famous town as an independent republic, and where we find the famous cathedral containing the remains of the apostle Sant Andrea. Then we will find Ravello, which is a beautiful medieval village located 800 feet above sea level and where you can visit the gardens in the famous villas of Villa Rufolo and Villa Cimbrone. Returning to the coast we continue to follow the road verses east and we find other less famous villages but very characteristic and cute. The first is Minori. Here it is free to visit a Roman villa, taste the famous sweets of Sal de Riso, visit some factory of limoncello and so on. After we find Maiori, which is a bit similar to Minori and is recommended for those who love sunbathing on the beach. Following we will find one of the smallest villages of the coast, called Cetara, It is a small fishing village that has never been renovated and that is why it is one of the most fascinating. While the last one is Vietri sul Mare, also very ancient and very famous for working with ceramics.
visit Sorrento and amalfi Coast with us, we organize private day tours and we can customize its with your preferences.

A Villa originally referred to a Roman villa and manor house of the landowner. In the Renaissance, the villa was a representative country seat of the ruling classes. In the 19th century the term on the detached house of the upper middle class has been transmitted, often on the outskirts or in residential areas built. He became the term for demanding then single family homes.
The term villa was originally built for a noble house in the country. Unlike farms, however, were rarely villas agricultural purposes, and the owners had their main residence often in a townhouse. The Italian villas of the ancient and Renaissance formed as country estates of the nobles a counterpart to their city palaces. The villas culture has its traditions since ancient times. Already Pliny the Younger (61-113 n. Chr.) drew the retired life in the country before the city life.
A villa is considered as an expression of representative home decor and refined lifestyle, the term is taken positively. Therefore, the expression Villa often used as a synonym for other building types: So are manors as the center of agricultural goods or smaller castles often referred to as Villa. More recently, the term is town house for detached apartment buildings related with upgraded amenities. A special form is about the bath villa in seaside resorts on the coast.
On the estates of the wealthy Romans built by urban style, later mostly equipped with extravagant luxury and furnished for all seasons mansion called Villa urbana (urban villa) or if it was located near the city, Villa suburbana (suburban villa). At this, the stringed villa rustica (rural house), which closed the often very numerous outbuildings, vegetable, fruit, olive and vineyards in itself. By special splendor excellent villas that were the Lucullus, Augustus, Pompey, Cicero, Hortensius Hortalus, Pliny, Caligula, Nero, Hadrian, etc. and no owner attributable to Villa Romana del Casale in Sicily. Usually a wealthy Romans had several villas. But the villa appears as a building type before the birth of Christ, Vitruvius they have not mentioned, only Pliny the Younger describes in connection with the landscape and in the context of rural lifestyle.
At the time of the Carolingians were called Villae regiae the royal dairies or domains on which the kings during their tours took their stay, to hold court. In its economic structure, these royal estates are more or less comparable with that of a small village.
The Roman of villas has been added since the beginning of the 14th century by the Italians and maintained in the same variations. His heyday he reached in the Renaissance - and Baroque period, and the most famous architects vied with each other for the most charming villa complexes.
In 1452 wrote Leon Battista Alberti in his ten books on architecture, a detailed chapter on mansions. Andrea Palladio was one of the most famous villas architect, his Villa Almerico at Vicenza, known as La Rotonda, is the ideal typical realization of a villa of the Renaissance.
More artistically or historically important Italian villas, the Villa Medici of Careggi in Florence, the Villa Farnesina of Baldassare Peruzzi, Villa Madama by Raphael, Villa Lante by Giulio Romano, Villa Borghese, Villa Mattei, Villa Medici and Villa Albani in and near Rome, the Villa d'Este at Tivoli, the Villa Aldobrandini and Villa Mondragone in Frascati, the Villa Doria in Genoa and the Villa Maser in Treviso.
The of villas has thus become a special branch of modern architecture in the 19th century. The classic case of singular villa and the villa-style residential building from the 19th century that apply Villa Hügel, the Mountain Villa, the Villa Haas, the Villa Carlotta and Villa Durazzo Pallavicini.
At the end of the century the emerged as new designs double villa, the elements common to the street front built townhouses with detached country villa combined, as well as the rental villa, which was built with the same representative to claim the detached villa for two families and is one of the villa by separate staircase difference. In the delineation of more representative chalet for simple stylized country house there are many transitional forms, its architectural history and historic preservation as villas magnificent country house or cottage-like Villa are described.

Kylie Jenner Lavish Birthday Trip On $250 Million Dollar Yacht
Exclusive Inside Kylie Jenner's 22nd Birthday Week Leading Up To Her Spending Her 22nd Birthday on 250 Million Dollar Super Yacht, with her closest friends and family In Italy.
Subscribe:
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Kylie Jenner’s 22nd birthday is everything we hoped it would be: extremely lavish. She’s left us all shook before with the birthday she threw for her daughter, Stormi. Remember “Stormi World”? It was literally an amusement park for her baby. The Kar-Jenner’s have always made sure their parties are the best of the best, so why should Kylie’s birthday be any different? For Kylie’s 22nd she hired a $250 million boat! Well, not a boat really... A “Super Yacht”. This boat is the size of a football field, can hold 22 passengers, and even has a spa in it. But Kylie spent a lot of time hanging out in Italy too. They shopped in Portofino, had lovely dinners in Capri, and yes they spent time on the yacht off the coast too. Kylie’s beau, Travis Scott, was along for the trip and had several sweet date nights with Kylie while Stormi stayed on the yacht with the nanny. Seriously this whole birthday was #goals. But the birthday celebrations for Kylie started earlier on in the week, with her whole house being covered in rose petals for her by Travis Scott. Kim K also sent Kylie a chair shaped like a pair of lips because #KylieCosmetics. Kylie was even given a diamond chain on her actual birthday. It was literally dripping with jewels. But are any of you surprised? She’s a freaking billionaire! If you ever wanted to know how the rich and famous throw their 22nd birthdays, Kylie’s is the standard for sure.

HOTEL IL SAN PIETRO POSITANO, ITALY ... Exotic Enchanting Environments
Exotic Enchanting Environments ... Living in Harmony with Nature
CARLINO CINQUE --- Gentle Genius
Visionary, Dreamer, Sole Creator of the incomparable --- IL SAN PIETRO
an extraordinary miracle of incredible design, engineering and building nestled
into the sheer steep cliffs of the Amalfi coastline overlooking Positano, a veritable
Shangri-La of wondrous beauty here on earth.
The Dirsmith Group design concept drawings illustrate our creative vision of how to blend a new series of environments harmoniously into the incredible magic and mystery of what hotelier Carlino Cinque had already built on this remarkable site.
We first met Carlino when we found IL SAN PIETRO over a third of a century ago. Our
family had returned to Italy where we had spent 2 years as Fellow in Architecture at the
American Academy in Rome. We wanted to share the magic and mystery spawned by
some 2,000 years of marvelous Roman, Italian history with our 3 children. Little did we
know as we started that journey that we would soon discover one of the most beautiful
places in the world, IL SAN PIETRO, designed and built by one of the most remarkable
human beings we have ever met, Carlino Cinque.
Our children, as all of the guests, became mesmerized by the wonder of IL SAN PIETRO
and the loving charm of its creator, Carlino. We became close friends, returning year after
year for decades, always filled with anticipation as to what Carlino would have created
and built over the winter months, when IL SAN PIETRO would close. Carlino would
invent and build year after year with his own hands, his creative mind, and his hotel staff
which were used for most of the work. It was extraordinary to witness and the delightful
enchanting environments were priceless. None of the rooms or spaces were alike.
Everything was unique and one of a kind. The terraces, balconies, gardens, stone walls and
stairways winding down the sheer slope of the coastline, and marvelous foods, many
grown in the incredible cascading stone terraces chiseled out of the cliffs, were breath-
taking beyond compare. Every item was hand made, artistically sculptured, down to the
last detail which included dishes, and Florentine glass candle holders filled with delicate
flowers. Carlino designed everything. He was a true Renaissance man of the 20th century.
We fell in love with gentle Carlino and IL SAN PIETRO and he with our children. Maybe
it was due to both having sweet Boxer dogs as cherished family members for years. Carlino
gave a gift of love to our daughter, Colleen --- a precious honeymoon at IL SAN PIETRO
--- memorable to this day.
Carlino was a Kindred Spirit who admired and appreciated the gardens, fountains, pools,
grottos and waterfalls we had designed and built for our clients around the world. We
would share these with him yearly through feature articles that appeared across the pages
of Italian magazines.
So we decided to present a gift of love to our dear friend, Carlino, a small token of our
deep respect for him and his beloved IL SAN PIETRO. We walked the property with him
just before leaving on our last visit and told him that we would go back to our studios and
create something very special for our dear friend, Carlino.
These original design concept sketches that appear here on our web site are that gift of
love, miniscule when compared to the years of joy, inspiration and pure magic he had
shared with our family. We are deeply honored and privileged to have known Carlino .
The Museum of the National Academy of Design and Fine Arts in New York City has
recently acquired for its permanent collection a portfolio of 102 prints, drawings and
photographs of the Dirsmith Group work that now joins that of fellow members of the
Academy's notable collection of pre-eminent American architecture design and art.
3 of the drawings are from our original design concept sketches of IL SAN PIETRO.
Carlino, now resting high above Positano in his magnificent crypt, replicating and
overlooking his own IL SAN PIETRO, is smiling and proud. This is our tribute to you,
dear friend and gentle genius, Carlino. Your niece, Virginia Attanasio Cinque and her two
sons, Carlo and Vito, are carrying on your vision and dream.
