Segan made the etching during his junior year as an art major, School of Art [now called SOAD: School of Art & Design), Southern Illinois University, Carbondale].

Dan Weismann, a grad student at SIU-C, was a housemate in 1976 and a college friend of Segan. They last met up around 1977.

The framed proof seen in this video will be donated to an institution, tba - a gift of a now older couple who purchased the etching at the now long-gone Howell Street Gallery in Seattle's Capitol Hill district, 1982.

Segan is best known as the creator of the Under the Wings (Holocaust educational) art series; the
Sight-seeing with Dignity (human rights education) art series; other Holocaust themed art; Judaic art.

Segan also does cityscapes, landscapes, architectural drawings, animals, birds and whimsical imagery.

The Under the Wings series portrays Jewish, Christian, Romany and disabled victims of the Nazi perpetrated Holocaust, and 3 victims of Fascism in Croatia and Italy

He guest teaches in schools, colleges, houses of worship, universities, art museums and other sites.

His artworks are in art gallery/museum, history museum, natural history museum, institutional, corporate, civic, library and university collections in Austria, Canada, France, Hungary, Israel, Scotland and the U.S.
