Taihu Lake Scenic Area is located in the middle of the Yangtze River Delta. It is a natural lake scenic spot featuring Taihu Lake, lakeside hills and island landscapes with a long history of culture.
Taihu Scenic Area has a planned total area of 3091 square kilometers, including 888 square kilometers (including 529 square kilometers of Taihu Lake) and 2,203 square kilometers of peripheral protection zone (including 1931 square kilometers of Taihu Lake).
The Taihu Lake Scenic Area contains the areas of Muxi, Shihu, Guangfu, Dongshan, Xishan, Zhizhi and Tongli in Suzhou; Meiliang Lake, Wuhu, Xihui and Mashan Scenic Areas in Wuxi; Changshu It is composed of 13 scenic spots including Yangshuo Scenic Spot in Yixing City and 2 independent scenic spots in Taibo Temple and Taibo Tomb in Wuxi City. The jurisdiction covers 35 towns or streets in 2 cities, 3 counties and cities.

At Ling Shan near Tai Hu there is an 88 metre high Buddha, a far too opulent (temple), and a Baby Buddha in a Lotus flower that gets bathed at 1 pm on weekends and holidays. This clip was part of a CCTV English travel show that I would describe as part Michael Palin part propaganda. I love one description I read -- Amazing statue in a soulless park.

There's a small mountain, the 3rd biggest lake in China, ancient towns, ancient streets, a beautiful pagoda, and these are only the places that I visited. There is so much more to do in this city.
