THE TAJ MAHAL FROM SUNRISE TO SUNSET - AGRA, INDIA ????????
The Taj Mahal. One of the seven wonders of the world. A must-see in India, so integral to the experience that I've dedicated an entire video to it. I wake up early to catch the sunrise, and then travel to the serene Mehtab Bagh in Agra, to capture the sunset from the adjacent side of the Yamuna River.

Taj Mahal: Historic Wonder of India
By [ Rakesh
The Taj Mahal: the ultimate symbol of love. Everything feels like a clich and words seem inadequate to convey the beauty of this marble monument. It symbolises the peak of all that is glorious about Mughal art and architecture. Everyone knows that the Taj is one of the Seven Wonders of the World - every visiting dignitary to India, from Princess Di to Oprah Winfrey and the Clintons have paid a visit to this great monument.
The Taj Mahal was built by Emperor Shah Jahan in memory of his beloved wife, Mumtaz Mahal. The construction of the monument began in 1631 and ended by 1648. The emperor employed thousands of workers and craftsmen to get the mausoleum completed. The structure by the banks of the Yamuna in Agra is awe-inspiring, and you can make countless visits to the place and never tire of its beauty. The tomb has been laid out in a rectangular shape and there is a huge gateway with an arch. There are alcoves on both sides. The tomb is located at the northern end, and there are fountains and greenery. The ceilings are full of floral patterns.
Myriad expressions
You can watch the majestic structure glowing in the sunlight with its dome and the minarets, inscribed with sacred verse and a lot of ornamentation. The decorations are so intricate and unique that you can spend an entire day staring at each one of them. The Mughals love flowers, and true to their passion, there are flowers etched in many parts. There is a flower in the tomb of Mumtaz Mahal, which has as many as 35 precious stones!
To capture the many moods of the Taj, you should visit it at different times of the day. The structure looks magnificent in the night sky, especially on a full moon night when the whole area is bathed in moonlight.
Tips for the Taj visitor
• If you are visiting the Taj Mahal for the first time, you should remember that the monument is closed on Fridays to those who are not attending the prayers held there.
• On other days, the monument is open from sunrise to sunset. You can access the structure through any one of the gates (West, South or East), although the southern gate has fewer queues than the one located on the western side.
• Agra is less than 200 km from Delhi, and it is easy to get there, either by bus or train. You can even hire a cab and plan a day-trip. Agra also as an airport, so if you are short of time, you can make a super quick visit to the home of the Taj Mahal.
• While at Agra, visit the other sights such as Sikandra, Mariam's Tomb and Jama Masjid, among others. Shop for sweets at one of the famed stalls here and enjoy the chaat snacks!
• In terms of accommodation, there are plenty of [ in Agra because it is a major tourism hub. There are also kinds of hotels to suit various pockets, from budget to luxury hotels in Agra.

#TajMahal, the magnificent monument that stands at the heart of #India has a story that has been melting the hearts of millions of listeners since the time Taj has been visible. A story, that although ended back in 1631, continues to live on in the form of Taj and is considered a living example of eternal love.
It's the love story of Shah Jahan and Mumtaz Mahal, two people from the course of history who set an example for the people living in present and the future to come. An English poet, Sir Edwin Arnold best describes it as
Not a piece of architecture, as other buildings are, but the proud passion of an emperor's love wrought in living stones. The story that follows next will prove why the statement is true.

#मुमताज और शाहजहाँ की प्रेम कहानी का हैरान करने वला सच
Agra Taj Mahal Inside view | Taj Mahal Secrets and Mysteries
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
#ShahJahan, initially named #PrinceKhurram, was born in the year 1592. He was the son of Jehangir, the fourth Mughal emperor of India and the grandson of#AkbarTheGreat. In 1607 when strolling down the Meena Bazaar, accompanied by a string of fawning courtiers, Shah Jahan caught a glimpse of a girl hawking silk and glass beads.
It was love at first sight and the girl was #MumtazMahal, who was known as Arjumand Banu Begum at that time. At that time, he was 14 years old and she, a #MuslimPersianPrincess, was 15. After meeting her, Shah Jahan went back to his father and declared that he wanted to marry her. The match got solemnized after five years i.e., in the year 1612.
It was in the year 1628 that #ShahJahan became the Emperor and entrusted Arjumand Banu with the royal seal. He also bestowed her with the title of Mumtaz Mahal, meaning the Jewel of the Palace.
Though #ShahJahan had other wives also, but, #MumtazMahal was his favorite and accompanied him everywhere, even on military campaigns.
In the year 1631, when Mumtaz Mahal was giving birth to their 14th child, she died due to some complications. While Mumtaz was on her deathbed, #ShahJahan promised her that he would never remarry and will build the richest #mausoleum over her grave.

Agra City Guide | Taj Mahal Travel Video in Uttar Pradesh, India Video Transcript:
Well good morning good morning. Today we are in Agra (आगरा). How excited are you? Super excited. I mean 'hey guess what' there is a little kind of tiny attraction here we might be visiting. Maybe the Taj Mahal (ताजमहल). The Taj Mahal (ताजमहल) is actually closed on Fridays and we didn't realize that until we got here. So we can't visit today but instead we're going to visit Agra Fort (आगरा का किला). Yeah. And maybe the Baby Taj Mahal. Yeah, and the good news is that I've actually been to Agra (آگرہ) before and I've been to Agra Fort (आगरा का किला) and it is one of the most impressive I've ever visited in India. If this fort was outside of Agra (आगरा) it would be a standalone attraction in another city. So we're going to go check that out today and maybe check out the Taj from across the river. And then we have to buy tickets for the Taj. Right so busy day actually. Let's begin.
Agra Fort (आगरा का किला) is a UNESCO World Heritage Site that draws big numbers, especially on a Friday when the Taj is closed. Admission to Agra Fort (आगरा का किला) is through the Amar Singh Gate, which is the south gate. Outside the gates you’ll find guides offering their services, so that’s something you can keep in mind if you’re looking to learn about the fort’s history and architecture.
So we've been getting all of these like teaser views of the Taj. Last night we had it during dinner and today we have this. And I think we're going to get one more vantage point later on in the day. And then finally tomorrow we actually visit it.
Once you walk through a series of gates, you’ll find yourself in a giant complex of marble palaces, inner courtyards and gardens, complete with wild monkeys running along the fort’s walls.
You also get some pretty cool views of the Taj Mahal (ताजमहल) off in the distance - but we’ll show you an even better lookout point later in this video.
The Taj Mahal (ताजमहल) was built by Shah Jahan as a memorial for his third wife, Mumtaz Mahal, who died giving birth to their 14th child in 1631. He wrote that the beauty of the structure made “the sun and the moon shed tears from their eyes”, and while I may not have shed a tear, it’s a sight that did not disappoint.
So we made it to the Baby Taj Mahal (Tomb of I'timād-ud-Daulah - اعتماد الدولہ کا مقبر).
So our last stop of the day is the Mehtab Gardens (मेहताब बाग़ - مہتاب باغ,) which are directly behind the Taj Mahal (ताजमहल) so you get some pretty cool views.
so that is a wrap from Agra (आगरा).
This is part of our Travel in India video series showcasing Indian food, Indian culture and Indian cuisine.

Agra and the Taj Mahal
Our time in Agra was spent in one of three places predominantly - our hotel, the Taj Mahal, and the Radisson Hotel!
Most people either take a return day trip to Agra from Delhi to see the Taj Mahal (three hours each way by car), or stay the night then get out of town. It's a little unfair to say Agra has only one attraction because that's not the case. Agra Fort is apparently much better than the Red Fort in Old Delhi, while Mehtab Bagh (the park directly across the Yamuna River from the Taj Mahal) are among a few additional places to check out while you're in town.
But the fact is there is only one star attraction in Agra, and the Taj Mahal compares favourably with any other man-made building or structure on Earth.
It's been described far more poetically than I ever called by wordsmith's including Rabindranath Tagore who said it is 'a teardrop on the cheek of eternity'; Rudyard Kipling called it 'the embodiment of all things pure'; while its creator, Emperor Shah Jahan, said it made 'the sun and the moon shed tears from their eyes'.
We spent a few hours here wandering around the gardens, admiring the majesty of the Taj Mahal, and exploring the minimal space inside that the public is allowed access to. It is truly breathtaking, although if I do have one criticism, the inside is not all that impressive. Some may beg to differ, but the contrast between the beauty outside and what is offered inside is vast.
