Tajpur is one of the most hidden beaches in India. Tajpur beach lies in the Purba Medinipur district of South Bengal, one of the southern districts of West Bengal. It lies on the Kolkata - Digha route and just 16 Km before Digha. Tajpur is one of Bengal's recently discovered tourist destination that lies close to ever-popular Mandarmoni and Shankarpur.

India's Most beautiful attraction Tajpur sea Beach Digha. Tajpur is a seaside resort town in the state of West Bengal, India. It lives in East Midnapore district and at the northern end of the Bay of Bengal.
It has a low gradient with a shallow sand beach with gentle waves extending up to 7 km (4.3 mi) in length. It is the most popular sea resort in the West Bengal.
It is located 183 km (114 mi) from Kolkata/Howrah via Mecheda and 234 km (145 mi) via Kharagpur, this proximity has probably helped this small hamlet to emerge as a popular weekend getaway with number of good hotels and tourist lodges.
Digha is connected to Kolkata/Howrah by a highway and a rail-link via Tamluk.
The beach is infested with infinite number of red crabs which play hide and seek in the sand. Their presence makes the beach look crimson. There are fishermen's villages in the vicinity, where one can observe the mundane life of fisherman. Just 1 km away is a lagoon with a pleasant surrounding.
Tajpur beach is virgin one and situated between Mandarmoni and Shankarpur i.e east of Digha. By road it is 17 KM from Digha along the Kanthi-Digha Road. It is newly developed as a sea-resort with hotels.

As a tourist attraction, it is relatively new as there are fewer hotels compared to Digha and Mandarmani. The beach is clean and home to numerous red crabs. The Government of West Bengal and Central Government decided to build the Tajpur Port in the area.

HOW TO REACH?
By Train:: Board any Train from Howrah which is going towards Digha, and get down at Ramnagar Railway Station, aprrox 4 hrs.
From Ramnagar to reach tajpur there are many tempo, auto, etc
charges : 250-350 for 5 person
By Bus : Board any Bus towards Digha and get down at Balisai.
From Balisai as well charges will be the same like Ramnagar

N.R.S. reunion meet at TAJPUR, near DIGHA, PUR. MEDINIPUR
Tajpur & Digha 22-25 Dec2015
We visited Tajpur, Digha and New Digha during a brief visit from 22 to 25 December. From Kolkata it took us about four hours by car to reach Tajpur. We stopped for about half an hours at Sher-e-Punjab for breakfast. We enjoyed the stay out. Here is a small video where we tried to share what we saw during our stay at Tajpur, Digha and new Digha. The videography was done in an iPad mini. The videos were then edited using iMovie. Hope you enjoy it.
