Tall Trees Grove in Redwoods National Park
The Tall Trees Grove is one of the most beautiful spots in Redwoods National Park. The grove takes some work to access as you have to get a permit at the visitors center with the gate code and there are lots of other amazing groves in the park if you want something simpler. That being said, this is a fantastic area to explore in Redwoods National Park and Amie and I loved getting to check it out.

Tall trees grove trail, Redwood National Park - Tallest trees on Earth ( GoPro HD)
Tall trees trail - Holder of the worlds tallest tree.
Hiking along the possibly over 2000 year old trees were truly a humble experience.
This is the only trail that requires permit.
If you do not mind walking 14 miles on unpaved dusty fire road with 2000 elevation gain , you don't need a permit ;)
we didn't have the permit but luckily we got a ride from a very nice family from Utah.
Permit is free at visitor center. They allow 50 cars per day.
This is a Must hike trail when you visit Redwoods National Park.

Tall Trees Grove, Redwood National Park
A hike up Redwood Creek to Tall Trees Grove where some of the tallest trees in the world grow. This is a video I created when I was just getting started with filmmaking. Notice the product placement at the end. I was hoping to find a sponsor for my show and I did! I joined On Networks. We reworked the older shows like this one but I still like these just as much. What do you think?
Tall Trees Grove / Redwood National Park
The combination used on a locked gate - a long drive down a winding dusty road - carefully descending a narrow rocky path - majestic and unexpected views along the way – sunlight filtering through a canopy of green - to some of the tallest and most ancient trees on the planet.
The Tallest Tree in the World! Hiking Tall Trees Grove
On this Airstream Life vLog, we head to the Redwoods to see some of the tallest trees in the world. First stop is the Visitors Center when it opens at 9sm to pick up a free permit and gate code for the Tall Trees Grove. Then we drive to the grove and start our hike down. It's 800ft of elevation change in 1.5 miles. But it was absolutely amazing! This grove has the tallest tree in the world in it. It feels like you are back in prehistoric times and there was no one else there with us. Spectacular! We highly recommend this hike if you are ever in the area!

Tall Trees Grove, Redwood National Park & Mendocino, CA
First half is of the grove and surrounding areas, taken on a recent backpacking trip to the park. Assorted shots from Headlands State Park follow, approximately 2 years after my last visit. The video concludes with a very brief look at Navarro Point, primarily due to a swarm of flying insects that made stationary shooting very difficult. The sunset is along the northern shore of Clear Lake in Lake County, California.
Prairie Creek Redwoods State Park-Rare Footage of Tall Trees Grove
Here is some extremely rare and beautiful Tall Trees Grove amidst Prairie Creek Redwoods State Park. The Tall Trees Grove is an offshoot of the park containing the grove with the average highest canopy in the world. Many of the trees in the grove are around 370 feet and height, although it is hard to tell from the ground!
Tall Trees Grove is the most difficult grove for a traveler to access, and has gotten even more difficult to see because its gravel access road was shut down due to budgeting reasons. It is no longer accessible by car, and you'd have to hike or bike down a gravel road 8 miles one way to see it. Almost hardly possible by a day trip anymore unless you want to spend little to no time in the grove.
Enjoy the footage and get a taste for what this enchanting one-of-a-kind grove has to offer, but realize nothing I could ever film here could ever do the park justice. Go see it in person if at all possible!! And maybe one day the will re-open the access road!

Path to Tall Trees Grove, south of Prairie Creek Redwoods State Park
June 5, 2010: Shirley and Bob drove up and down a 7 mile winding, unpaved road to reach the trailhead into the redwood forest. The trail led to the Tall Tree Grove and a loop trail around the grove. The total hike was 3.5 miles, first dropping 700 feet in elevation, then climbing back up that elevation. It was spectacular. A wilderness permit was required. That gave you the combination to the locked gate at the beginning of the seven mile drive.

The Tall Trees Grove in Redwoods National Park is a nice loop to some incredibly tall redwoods. The overall hike is 4.5miles and loses, then gains 800ft as it travels through a great forest, then down to Redwood Creek where it loops through these behemoths.
Tallest Trees on Earth - Redwood National Park California
Sometimes when the morning fog caresses the great trees, you can imagine the past flowing through the long, misty shadows --- Vast redwood forests flourishing across a lush and humid North America ... After the final ice age, a LAST stand here in the sustaining climate along the Pacific coast -- tree after tree falling to the loggers saw.

Sequoia National Park - home of the biggest tree in the world - the famous General Sherman Tree. In this vlog we hiked Moro Rock, visited General Sherman Grove, stopped at the visitor's center, toured the campsite and hiked up a river. Also a special surprise saved for the final few minutes (the epilogue). My daughter and I visited the park in the summer of 2017.

The Best of Redwood National Park
A January 2014 trip to northern California's Redwood National Park, exploring Fern Canyon, Elk Prairie, Trillion Falls, the Tall Trees Trail, Gold Bluffs Beach, the Glen Berry Trail, Elk Grove, the Miner's Ridge Trail, the James Irvine Trail, and Curruthers Cove.
Also, the monologue in the introduction is from National Geographic's short movie on David Milarch, which documents Mr. Milarch's efforts to clone California's fallen redwoods:
Mr. Milarch is a true man of the redwoods, and his work is incredibly inspirational.

Redwoods National Park Adventure - Visiting some of the largest trees on earth! | MOTM VLOG 81
In this video we enter California and spend some time in Crescent city and Klamath, exploring the Redwoods National Parks and a really cool place called fern canyon!

The Redwoods had always been something we’d really wanted to see. My mom still raves about their majesty decades after her visit to them in her pre-parenthood years. We’d seen pictures of course of the huge trees – the men rappelling down them, looking like ants in comparison to this gargantuan tree.
But – like we’ve found elsewhere in our travels – pictures did not do it justice!
Since the park was so long, we started our exploration from Crescent City, CA. We stayed at the Crescent City KOA (link to video review) which was just a few miles from Jedidiah Smith Redwood State Park. Our first stop was at the Visitor’s Center to figure out what we should see and do, and get acquainted with how this partitioned park worked.
We found the Jedidiah Smith Visitor’s Center seemed a little biased toward their section of the park – which I think is the case for each of the segments! How can you blame them? They loved their trees.
They recommended that we drive Howland Hill Rd, hike Stout Grove and to Boyscout Tree.
HOWLAND HILL ROAD
This was the first thing we did, and it was amazing. As an introduction to the big Redwood trees, it met and exceeded all of our expectations of Redwoods National Park. Seeing our 1-ton Dually Truck be absolutely dwarfed by the trees gave us chills!
STOUT GROVE
Hiking beneath the canopy of these giants was very different – it could be a beautifully sunny day, but it does not penetrate to the forest floor unless the angle is steep enough. We arrived at the Stout Grove trailhead early in the morning, at the perfect time to have the sunlight stream diagonally through the trees. Everyone on the trail was quiet, walking slowly, gaping in awe.
BOYSCOUT TREE TRAIL
This trail has everything – big trees, lots of trees, and REALLY big trees! The Boy Scout Trail ranks as one of the top showcases of old-growth redwood forests in existence. It is nearly 240ft tall and is a double-stem tree, meaning two trees have fused together, with a combined width of over 23ft. It's big.
SLIGHTLY SOUTH
We moved slightly south down to Klamath and stayed at Kamp Klamath right on the Klamath River about a mile from where it empties into the ocean. This put us closer to Prairie Creek Redwoods State Park. We initially wanted to try to hike to Tall Trees where some of the tallest trees in the park are. Hyperion – the tallest tree at 379ft tall - is not too far away. However, the folks at one of the visitors centers pointed out that they are the tallest trees, but not necessarily the biggest/widest, and it is hard to tell how tall they are from the ground – plenty of other “nearly just as big” trees can be found elsewhere in more accessible places.
For Tall Trees you need to get a permit, and we were told it’s easy to get. You just have to show up and ask for it. But it was a several mile drive on rough roads that would take a few hours, then a few hour hike out, then back, then a rough drive back. We didn’t have very promising weather during the time period we were there, so we opted to go to ..... ......
