पाक सीमा से सटे व जैसलमेर से 120 किलोमीटर दूर Tanot Mata Mandir देश भर के श्रद्धालुओं की भी श्रद्धा का भी केन्द्र है। देश भर से श्रद्धालु नत मस्तक होने पहुंचते हैं। तनोट को भाटी राजपूत राव तनुजी ने बसाया था और यहां पर ताना माता का मंदिर बनवाया था, जो वर्तमान में तनोटराय मातेश्वरी के नाम से जाना जाता है। मंदिर की पूजा-अर्चना BSF के जवान ही करते हैं। Navratri के मौके पर तनोट मंदिर में आस्था का ज्वार उमड़ता है। इस दौरान बड़ी संख्या में श्रद्धालु यहां दर्शनार्थ पहुंचते है और मनोकामना पूर्ण होने की प्रार्थना करते हैं। हर दिन दोपहर 12 बजे व शाम 7 बजे आरती की जाती है।

Tanot Mata is a temple in western State of Rajasthan in District Jaisalmer of India. As per the oldest Charan literature Tannot Mata is new clone of divine goddess [[Hinglaj Mata],Basically The village is close to the border with Pakistan, and is very close to the battle site of Longewala of the Indo-Pakistani War of 1971, indeed some credit the temple for the outcome of the battle.[1] Tourists cannot go beyond this temple to see the Indo–Pak Border unless one gets the relevant documentation in advance from the District and Military Authorities. It is now a tourist destination in India. The area is said to have oil and gas reserves.
The story of Tanot Temple at the Longewala border in Rajasthan is one such miraculous tale when the local deity Tanot aka Awad Mata didn't let any Pakistani tank bomb explode and Indian soldiers who were certain of martydom and defeat went on to crush the Pakistanis in both 1965 as well as 1971 wars.
The legend say that in both wars more than 3,000 bombs were dropped either in the vicinity or while of the temple, but none exploded. And one can see some of those bombs in the Museum built by BSF inside the temple premises.
Situated 150 Kms from the city Jaisalmer in Western most point of Rajasthan, Tanot has become one of most visited tourist spots especially for those who love the wilderness of Rajasthan and admire stories related to army heroics.

क्या है मंदिर का इतिहास
इस मंदिर परिसर में लगे शिलालेख के अनुसार जैसलमेर क्षेत्र के निवासी मामडियांजी की पहली संतान के रूप में विक्रम संवत् 808 चैत्र सुदी नवमी तिथि मंगलवार को भगवतीश्री आवड़देवी यानी तनोट माता का जन्म हुआ था।
माता की 6 बहनें आशी, सेसी, गेहली, होल, रूप और लांग थीं। देवी मां ने जन्म के बाद क्षेत्र में बहुत से चमत्कार दिखाए और लोगों का कल्याण किया। इस क्षेत्र में राजा भाटी तनुरावजी ने वि.सं. 847 में तनोट गढ़ की नींव रखी थी। इसके बाद यहां देवी मां का मंदिर बनवाया गया और वे तनोट राय माता के नाम से प्रसिद्ध हुईं।

On the second day of our trip, we went to Tanot Mata mandir after Longewala, which was targetted by Pakistan in India Pakistan war of 1965. Luckily we also got permission to go to India Pakistan Border. Seeing the border, talking to BSF Jawans there on how they ensure the security of the border was a great experience.

Hello Friends
This is my Day 2 Vlog in the city of Jaisalmer. The day started with me visiting the beautiful and serene Gadisar lake and then I took off for the Indo-Pak border situated a 120 Kms from the city.
I went to see the Tanot Mata Mandir- a very unusual place of worship. This is the Mandir about which they say that the deity or the Mata Rani of tis mandir protected our soldiers on the border during the Indo-Pak war. None of the bombs exploded near this temple saving our soldiers. Some of the live bombs from that war are on display as well. A truly divine visit.
Then I went on this 20km long lonely and deserted stretch to the India BOP from where I saw the actual fencing of our border.
On my return to the city I met the DIG Amit Lodha who spoke about the BSF and how do they fight loneliness protecting the border.
I also met Indian Idol contestant Constable Surinder Singh from the BSF who sang for his friends and me.
This was a very unique and enriching experience for me. Hope you will experience the same with me.
