Tattered Cover Bookstore in Denver, Colorado
Denver Union Station Wynkoop Plaza, Denver, Colorado, USA - Crystal Fountains
As part of a $54 million Denver Union Station project several new exciting public spaces have been developed in downtown Denvor. One of the most popular new attractions is located in the southern portion of Wynkoop Plaza, which now features an engaging series of pop-up fountains where kids and adults -- even dogs! -- can keep cool on warm days. The linear layout, with dozens of Crystal's LED210 arching water streams, is as pleasing to watch as it is to use, and has been a huge success since opening earlier this year.
From Rockies games to exploring Tattered Cover Bookstore, there's no shortage of kid-friendly adventures awaiting in the downtown core: after you dry off, make a day of exploring one of Denver's most entertaining, historic areas.

To The Tattered Cover Bookstore,
It has come to our attention that you recently expressed issues with the community feed and boycott of your establishment. You expressed confusion and anger towards peaceful protesters feeding and distributing donations to homeless individuals. You stated Quote Why is the Tattered Cover being singled out?
Because we have refused to cave into their demand to take a public stand against the overnight camping ordinance,...end quote. You are confused. We want you to relinquish your public stand SUPPORTING the camping ban through membership with the Downtown Denver Partnership.
As you are aware the camping ban makes it illegal for people without a home to be homeless. Sleeping is a part of living. It is an act that must occur at some time, in some place. You say quoteThe Tattered cover is a member of several organizations (for a variety of professional reasons, and, like many individuals may be in agreement or disagreements from time to time with their decisions or actions. Including the Downtown Denver Partnership and Aclu... why choose to to point out one membership and omit the other.end quote
The first word that comes to mind is hypocritical, the second is selfishness. Hypocritical. If you believe in something or stand for something do you also stand for the polar opposite of your position. To in anyway support the Urban Camping Ban is immoral. By doing so you are oppressing the homeless individuals who are already struggling to survive in ways many can not begin to imagine.
In stead of doing nothing (which is much less than doing something to help these individuals, you do something or are a part of something that takes direct action against them. Selfishness. It seems to us you are simply playing both sides for your own benefit. No humanity for others simply your own benefits in mind unmoved by those who are impacted by your actions.
We will state it simply. These are our demands. Remove yourself from the Downtown Denver Partnership, or be a voice in the group that stimulates the movement for the Downtown Denver Partnership to no longer support the Urban Camping Ban. You stated The Tattered Cover does not take a public position, pro or con, on matters of public policy unless those policies impact reading, readers rights, access to content or, on rare occasion are of internal importance to the book industry.
Would the tattered cover take a stand if people were being killed or attacked and left to die on your door step. Can you truly not see this is exactly the act that is happening and Tattered Cover decides to take no stand, no opposition for crimes against human rights. As long as this is how you respond to acts against humanity we will be at your doorstep making others aware of how you feel about this community, and your lack of effort to defend it. Hope this helped answer your questions. See you next Friday. We will be watching closely. Operation Right To Rest has focused on Denver and you are rapidly approaching our sites. Ask the partnership how their last week has been.

Colorado Road Trippn’: Day 6 in Denver
In the past 10 to 15 years, Denver has blossomed into an incredibly vibrant and eclectic center where Hispanic flavors, Southwestern nostalgia and a new generation of renegade artsy folks blend beautifully. We had so much fun reexploring downtown. Here we feature a little bit of Capitol Hill, the Denver Museum area and the Tattered Cover Book Store, one of the largest independent bookstores in the United States. We also stopped by the newly-opened Stanley Marketplace, and the American Indian eatery Tocabe. Once back in Boulder, Nabol had to try the famous Rio Margs at Rio Grande and the amazing sushi at Hapa. Come with us to enjoy all the fun.

The reviews are riveting as this book takes us on a journey of intrigue and Love.
One of her reviews includes this sneak peak; I very much enjoyed As Night Falls, an excellent psychological thriller and third book (all stand alones) written by Jenny Milchman. Be sure to have your anti-anxiety meds on board before starting this one. It starts innocently enough, but you can just tell something is going to happen. The suspense progressively builds as the set up plays out, culminating in a prison break followed by invasion of a family home.

Mason Engel - Book 50 (bookstore road trip music video 2019)
THE STORY: I visited 50 indie bookstores in 50 days, asking for feedback on my self-published novel, 2084. Throughout the trip, cruising in my 1995 Mercury Tracer from Indiana to California, I grew to appreciate the importance of the indies. This is my tribute to them (I use the names of all 50 stores I visited in verses 1 and 2).

Verse 1
Wait Mas tell em what the breakdown is. May 8 the date the kid laid down in
His own bed straight amazed made it round this nation. My blue suede dame in range of mountains.
Thunder ain’t about this, struggled but she wanted it punchin accelerator way down quick.
Just a trailer about the whole later trip. I’ll say it first, Thunder made it, we made it.
Day one, day after Monday, take off around 1:00 way west, and book one gave copy to the cop
That caught me in a tough place, pump brakes, slowin down, chillin, hittin B-town up late.
Behind schedule already. I rush came lookin for the duhsplay: Book Corner. No complaints
When I walk in with the pitch. This iteration needs an update, hit the interstate
Evansville in my feels but I will keep west, hittin St. Louis, got the Novel next
Door Neighbor, appeal, test, changin the flavor for Subterranean. I make my way then
Rainy Day no rainin, Our Daily Nada, k, see them I’m wavin and changin the scene
I went to Raven. Tap tap like Edgar A. said, hi
Poed out now poor campin. State Kansas park a wind storm landed, can’t warm I cannot stand it,
But I’m bolder than when I began with. Come through Boulder and snaggin a sandwich it’s a rareness.
I’m a little embarrassed, but that is on me. I hit up that Book Mall B., Stack City and Coffee,
Tattered Cover on East Colfax—Denver three. We slacked only ten deep I will be back increase the speed.
Verse 2
It’s grand nice Out West always Bright. Sights set on Poisoned Pen then side step.
Try exit the interstate and say hi to twins of Changing Hands. The driver might rest but sands on the horizon.
It’s Cali Library feelin wild, Catapult me high like Calipari how I’m stridin
along the lines of my route no flyin. I just Run for Cover run to sea La Playa.
Had to leave though you know I needed to swing through Lido Village in Newport Beach. We
Visit the Stories, olfactory café beans. What’s more I pitched The Last Store but that ain’t store fifty.
Almost thirty left. I received the rec from Romina: Vroman’s, see Pasadena, so Superior. Meet
Leigh and come read Kepler’s Magazines. Repeat on Books Inc., one to Green
Apple. Seen the Borderlands of sixth street San Francisco. Booksmith, yo, it’s so fantastic.
I ran from there so doggedly to Dog Eared, see the hills all ramp up, no challenge.
The Avid Reader, went to Capital: Sac, then Sundance after that. In
Reno magic, woah, Grass did promo that, pause. Imma Pioneer a new style next bars.
It’s all about the books. King’s English Bookshop, Francie Finch Bookshop, stop, on my book tour at Our Bookstore.

Volumes Book Café, onto Main Street Books, Indy Reads Books, Irvington and Vinyl sling books.
That’s a cool joint. If you don’t think we need these stores, let me change your Viewpoint.
Verse 3
Reverse Logic how I write a book and then I try to, uh, rap some.
Different topic change the page just like the, uh, black one (
This verse on ideas readers try to attract them.
If you’re watchin saw the team we like to imagine:
education, innovation, and support from the local level.
ABA got courses for the stores, make me hopeful. Let the
system decentralize to have more content from chosen sellers.
Amazon a spider try the starfish to cope with that dude.
Next we’re talkin on the ground floor, how to make most effective
use of all the space, convening for frequently co-events with
writers, open mic, try co-work, or target the romances in
search of date nights. “Hey guys try the store (gallery show is separate).”
But even all that stuff is not enough, no.
High margin businesses they get the bump, so
maybe we subsidize indies at once, oh.
I will do some research hear these words though.

Denver Neighborhoods: East Colfax
Colfax Avenue is the longest commercial street in the U.S.A. after first appearing on Denver maps in 1868 as a dirt road and then becoming a bustling trolley route in The Mile High City in the 1890s. Today, the street is lined with an eclectic mix of eateries, bars, brewpubs and shops, as well as entertainment and live music venues like the Fillmore Auditorium, the Ogden and the Bluebird theaters. These iconic performance spaces have hosted artists from across the country including Bob Dylan, Michael Franti, Snoop Dogg, Lorde and the and Trey Anastasio Band, and they also feature local bands like Nathaniel Rateliff & the Night Sweats. Playboy once referred to Colfax as the longest, wickedest street in America. The street's diversity is best seen by exploring on foot starting at the State Capitol and heading east to Upper Colfax and East Colfax. Don't miss local favorites -- the Tattered Cover Book Store housed in the historic Lowenstein Theatre, the Twist and Shout record store, Voodoo Doughnut, the Sie FilmCenter for independent films and gyros at a Greek Town diner.

Coincidentally the arrest in this film at the Tattered Cover bookstore, one of the infamous supporters of the Urban Camping Ban, occurred just one day prior to the Hillary Clinton book signing tour date in Denver. What's worse, is the Occupiers had diligently boycotted the bookstore for weeks prior to the Hillary Book Signing event without incident.
When the people speak back and begin to see a different story and are able to communicate it in the face of adversity, problems emerge, and justice is the only way to solve them. IF it is a philosophy so be it, our philosophy juxtaposes what we witness.

2016 State Honor Award - Denver Union Station
On July 12, 2014, Denver celebrated the opening of the $54 million restoration of the city’s iconic Denver Union Station. The historic 1914 train terminal, which had fallen into disrepair, is now home to locally owned, chef-driven restaurants including a classy cocktail lounge and beer garden featuring Colorado craft beers, a branch of the famous Tattered Cover Bookstore and other local boutiques, as well an independent 112-room hotel, The Crawford Hotel. The station also fulfills its original role as the “Grand Central Station” of Denver – the city’s major ground transportation hub and its Great Hall have become referred to as “Denver’s Living Room”.
The Union Station Alliance comprised a team of developers with extensive experience in preservation, hospitality, retail and restaurant projects who worked closely in cooperation with the Regional Transportation District and other partners to restore the iconic historic building.
