Bee Searcher, Coastal Winds & Turkey Work
The Bee Searcher
A North Texas researcher investigates the health of our most productive native pollinators, and how we might simply help them bee.
Coastal Conflicts
Texas leads in the country in wind energy production, and with this new energy source there are new questions. What will wind farms do to the already fragmented habitat here in Texas, and how will they affect the birds that live and migrate through our state? Head to the coast to see how wind farms use radar technology to spot migrating birds coming their way.

The Miracle of Life
Multimedia presentation by Chris Ashcraft during the Seattle Creation Conference, October 2010. New Life Four Square Church, Everett WA.
The origin of life remains the theory of evolution's most significant obstacle. More than 150 years after Darwin published his theory, and following exhaustive efforts, evolutionists are no closer to solving the riddle of how life began. Despite countless attempts using every conceivable condition, biochemists have been unable to produce genetic information (DNA) and/or proteins in a simulated natural environment and thereby show how even the simplest cell could have formed without intelligent design.
This presentation will examine the origin of life and illustrate that evolution is simply without a foundation. Life began through the actions of a God of supreme intelligence and creative power - actions that could never be reproduced by mere humans and will never be explained without reference to intelligent causation.
NOTE: Videos used to enhance this presentation were removed before uploading to YouTube. Download the full version below.
About the Speaker:
Chris Ashcraft MS., M.Ed. MTMS., is a Christian educator, creation scientist, and speaker employed as high school science teacher at Cedar Park Christian Schools where he provides instruction in Biology, Chemistry, Human Anatomy and Physiology, and Life Science.
Formerly, Chris was a research technician, specialized in plant tissue culture, and genetic transformation technology. He served as a research technician at the Cotton Fiber Production Laboratory at Texas Tech University, he then provided technical support at the Plant Transformation Facility at Oklahoma State University, and lastly was employed as the Plant Transformation Specialist for EDEN Bioscience in Bothell Washington .
He obtained a Bachelor of Science in biology from Wayland Baptist University in 1989, a Master of Science in biology from Texas Tech University in 1996, a Master of Education from the University of Washington in 2008, and a Master is Teaching Math and Science from Seattle Pacific University in 2012.
Chris moved from research science into the teaching profession to serve God in Christian education. His decision was motivated by the impact that secular science is having on people of faith. Today, close to 50% of Christian students lose their belief in God while attending secular schools. This tendency could be lessened if the Church was better equipped to defend the authority of Biblical teachings (1 Peter 3:15). To be prepared for these challenges, it is important that Churches provide regular educational programs on creation and other Bible apologetics.

Why We Must Defend Genesis
Multimedia Presentation by Chris Ashcraft
Apologetics Symposium
Cedar Park Church, Bothell WA
April 12, 2017
In 1 Peter 3:15 we are instructed to Always be prepared to give an answer. And yet most Christian are unable to defend their faith through reasoned arguments. Using recent surveys to demonstrate the impact of the worldviews conflict on young people, this message hopes to inspire apologetics education to stem the loss of faith.
We will also address some the conflict that exists between the natural science and the Bible. What is the Biblical age of the Earth? Was Adam not a real man, or was he created by God from some evolved ancient ape-man. Many Christians hold to one of these views to reconcile naturalism with the Bible, and presume the flood of Noah was merely a local event. Succinct answers to these questions are provided, along with an encouragement to trust in the Bible as authoritative on early Earth history.

Arizona and New Mexico
Two bordering states in these United States. Both are in the heart of the American Southwest.
Both are about the same size...New Mexico is just slightly bigger. However, Arizona has more than three times as many people, and it’s growing at a higher rate. In fact, Arizona is one of the fastest growing states in the country, while New Mexico is definitely not.
A big reason why is Phoenix, which is the fifth biggest city in the country. Phoenix attracts all the concerts, all the professional sports teams, all the best comedians, and all the best indie films in theaters that people think they’re cool for seeing.
Arizona also has Tucson, which has a larger metropolitan population than New Mexico’s biggest city, Alburquerque. Still, it has an amazing balloon festival called the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta. Plus Albuquerque is a way cooler name for a city. I just love saying it.
Both states are known for their deserts, for both are two of the driest states in the country. However, both have these little areas that get higher rainfall due to having a higher elevation.
Due to these elevation differences, both do have some climate variation. I mean, Arizona has the high plateau in the northeast part of the state, the mountainous region that runs from the northwest to southeast, and the low ranges and desert valleys down in the southwestern part. Its biggest desert is the Sonoran. The Chihuahuan Desert is the big one in New Mexico, and it even creeps into Arizona. New Mexico also has the Rocky Mountains in the north, the Great Plains in the east, and basically high plateau throughout the rest of the state. Where the elevation is high, they also tend to get four seasons. Otherwise, folks have been moving to both states for decades due to their mild winters and generally beautiful weather. Or at least snowbirds just head down there for the winter.
