OMAS Shakespeare Anniversary Limited Edition
John Hall from Write here of Shrewsbury reviews The OMAS Shakespeare Anniversary Limited Edition fountain pen.
450 years ago, on 26 April 1564, a man who has left his signature on time was baptized in Stratford-upon-Avon, England. Regarded as the greatest playwright and poet of all time, William Shakespeare created art through his writing. He created many linguistic expressions that we still use every day. His writing tools - quills that he would have shaped and sharpened himself - were the perfect witness to his greatness, translating onto paper his literary genius, and now brought down to us through his works.
Therefore it is with a collection of writing instruments that Omas celebrates William Shakespeare, 450 years after his birth in Stratford-upon-Avon - an anniversary traditionally celebrated on 23rd April.
Omas are proud to have worked on this project with the Shakespeare Birthplace Trust, who are dedicated to promoting and preserving his works, life and times. To support their incredible work around William Shakespeare's life, OMAS is proud to offer a royalty of 5% of its income for every pen sold. This money will be used by the Shakespeare Birthplace Trust to support and extend its activity in promoting and understanding Shakespeare's work, life and times.
Stratford Upon Avon Visit, Part II,'Statues and Fountains' by Sheila, May 24th 2016
A short trip up the River Avon upon the campsite taxi boat passing the millionaires mansions and boat-houses that line the River banks. Once in the town I am delighted to see some statues of good old Jack Falstaff and Prince Hal along with Shakespeare himself seated high up in the air on a chair--also Statues of Hamlet and Lady Macbeth-----------I walked towards the Royal Shakespeare theatre and admired the Fountain adorned with the emblem of the town--Swans----I am gorged with delight--so much to see, experience and absorb as reflected in 41 small videos created on this tour of Shakespeare land:
Come Let Us Take A Muster Speedily, Doomsday is Near, Die all but Die Merrily --the hero Hotspur in Henry IV Part One...

Ground Force's Charlie Dimmock, 51, opens garden centre in Woking | ABS US DAILY NEWS
★More ABS NEWS - Entertainment Video►►
She became a household name after hosting Ground Force in the late 1990s, alongside Alan Titchmarsh and Tommy Walsh. And Charlie Dimmock still proved to be a horticultural guru on Tuesday, as she opened the new Squire's Garden Centre in Woking. The 51-year-old, who became known for her braless ensembles on the BBC show, wrapped up warm in a cosy winter coat and scarf as she made a special appearance at the store. Charlie kept things more demure than her television days in a cosy black cardigan and skinny jeans, layered beneath a brown winter coat and floral scarf. Leaving her famous red curls loose and opting to go without make-up, the gardening expert proved her radiant complexion to all as she arrived at the new centre. Beaming widely, the TV star appeared to be in very high spirits as she playfully posed with a set of shears for cameras outside, before heading in to explore. It is no wonder Charlie was invited to attend the grand opening, having risen to fame as one of the hosts on garden makeover series Ground Force. The redhead fronted the show alongside Alan Titchmarsh and Tommy Walsh, and became loved by fans for her incredible knowledge, funny sense of humour and holding her own against the boys.Charlie - who often caught attention with her skimpy attire - laughed that she would never lose her 'braless' tag in an interview with TheMirror's Love Sunday magazine in March 2016. She joked: 'It was all very silly. I remember Esther Rantzen said to me, You'll be referred to as the bra-less one for the rest of your life. I'm still referred to as the buck-toothed presenter of That's Life!'People still comment on it to me. Some of them are male fans, some of them are female.'Before adding honestly: 'It is sometimes just more comfortable not having a bra on. I didn't plan it!' She more recently hosted the BBC's Garden Rescue, which sees her battle it out with brothers David and Harry Rich to design new gardens for homeowners.

Elegant woman's head, a chunky metal necklace round her neck. A man's head, talking. The two eating dinner with another man, a lit candle on the table, a blazing fire behind; he pours sauce on his fish, as the landlord, in spectacles, delivers two pewter tankards of ale; the two men pick up their foaming tankards.

Three boys look on as a chef bastes an ox roasting on a spit. Fairground scene in street in Stratford-on-Avon; two large red lorries are at right centre, each with 'Towing Three Trailers' on their fronts; pan over crowded scene, down to the annual ox-roast - a walled fire, the ox on a spit in front, one chef basting, while two others turn the spit with a large wheel. The ox-roast, as another cook appears, sharpening a carving knife. The chefs talking, as one bastes and the other sharpens.
Three young women looking out of an upstairs window. Looking down on the scene - dignitaries and a town crier. Two women onlookers, leaning out of a window. Looking down as the mayor cuts a slice from the ox. Close up of the mayor as he delivers the slice. Stratford Clock Tower
The American fountain/clock monument this stands in the market square on Rother Street and was donated by George W. Childs (1829 -1894), of Philadelphia, an American publisher in 1887 to mark Queen Victoria's Golden Jubilee. The large Gothic Clock Tower, with sculptures of eagles and lions is an imposing example of design and architecture of the period. The original tower incorporated a fountain which is now no longer functional. You will see not only American Eagles but also English Lions and a fairy from A Midsummer Night's Dream as part of the stonework. Portrayed above each clock face is a representation of a fairy inspired by Shakespeare in 'A Midsummer Night's Dream'.

The Galt Kiltie Band is a community band located in Cambridge, Ontario, Canada.
In July 1902, the oldest marching and concert band in Waterloo County came into being. Initially named the Galt Band, it soon decided to adopt the distinctive red and green uniform of the 1895 Black Watch Highlanders. This new look brought a new name as well -- The Galt Kiltie Band -- and well over 100 years later, the close-knit group of musicians has entertained the crowds all across Southern Ontario.
Our concerts consist of repertoire ranging from Show Tunes, Big Band Selections, Classical, Folk Music, Christmas Music, Contemporary Pops, Overtures and a vast selection of Marches. If your organization wishes to book us for your function feel free to contact us by using the CONTACT tab above. We are available for a nominal fee or donation.
The Kilties provide music in the community and an opportunity for local musicians to play together in a quality band. They play summer concerts in the parks, at seniors homes, appear at shopping centres, and play in the occasional parade. The band also challenges themselves at various competitions during the year.
Players of all ages make up the membership of the band. High school students, seasoned veterans from military backgrounds, adults, and seniors all combine to create great music! The band rehearses, by the kind consent of the members, in the upper hall of the Galt Legion Local 121 (on the corner of Walnut & Ainslie streets) every Tuesday night from 7:30pm-9:00pm.
