Other kits I was a traffic base that connects the various parts of Alaska Central street corner work as well as rise on Mount McKinley. But the town was unusually simple and quiet. The wagons pulled by mules stood out. I'm Harvey and Phillips, along the village while guiding the people, and the one that tells the history of my other kit up to 300 years. Decided to visit the village to look after him. Moose are here it is. This building was built in 1940. It's one of the historic shops of the city. Low Gallery building will built in 1920, it is now building to exhibit art gallery. Was once a house? Yes. That building was built as a hotel in 1923. The bed in the room was one of many lies. Quiet room was only one? Yes. It was one. Be sleeping in bed next to someone I do not know. The history of this historic place restrictions had been developed. But rea had heard the question also needs to develop. Middle of the city had found a sign familiar to the eye. Not long ago, a popular restaurant Korea was attached to was high drama title. South Korea's kimchi in so far as Yukgaejang tahyang, but they can taste the noodles was really glad. Travel fatigue was the feeling that wash wipe.

Visit to the Museum Of Alaska Transportation and Industry
I took a trip with some friends up to the Museum of Alaska Transportation and Industry to check out the vintage toy, train and tractor show, afterwards we took a tour of the facility. Quite a history of Alaskan transportation for sure. Lots that could use restoration, but at the very least, they are keeping a lot of things from finding the scrap yard to they can be seen by generations to come. If you make it to Alaska, take a trip up to Wasilla and check it out!
Alaska 2015: Historic Heritage House B&B in Fairbanks
Great value. Clean, cozy, comfortable -- The Alaska Heritage House Bed and Breakfast is a charming place to stay and within walking distance to many interesting places in downtown Fairbanks. Van, Bill and their cute lil' doggy, Mable, make guests feel welcome and happy.
After a delicious breakfast in a family-style setting, complete with china on doilies and a house full of period piece antiques from the early 1900's, take a tour through the multi-level home, appreciate the ambiance, art, and decor; sit by the fireplace or one of the many windows and enjoy reading a garden book or Alaskan novel.
Take a five-minute walk and check out the Jade Boutique for vintage treasures, or a delicious lunch/dinner at Big Daddy's BBQ restaurant or the yummy Thai Noodle restaurant. Bobby's Downtown is an impressive Greek restaurant and bar. There are several karaoke bars.
It's a nice walk to the visitor center along the Chena River near the Marriott Hotel, and the new Morris Thompson Cultural & Visitors Center near the Marriott.
There are plenty of antique and gift shops, a Co-op Plaza with lots of nice stores including the Two Street Gallery and a full menu Crepery. The Ice Museum is closed until May, and the Art House Gallery on Cushman & 10th near the bus station is well worth a visit.
And in the opposite direction down Cowles from the Heritage House is the 9th Ave. Hostel where the northern lights can sometimes be seen, a central bus station for trips to the Santa Claus House, North Pole, University of Alaska Museum of the North, etc. About a 15-minute walk further down Cowles is a full service camera store in the strip mall by the gym.
If you opt for a rental car in winter, try to book a vehicle with snow tires.
Enjoy! There's much to see and do :)

Laurel Bill on Alaska Story Time with Aunt Phil, Alaska baseball history
Alaska author/historian Laurel Downing Bill says towns from Seward to Fairbanks to Valdez have had the boys of summer challenging each other to baseball games since the early 1900s. She shares on this episode of Alaska Story Time with Aunt Phil how women enjoyed playing the game, too. In 1914, an all woman team called The Lightning Strikers took a trophy for indoor play in the gold-rush town of Nome.
Both the Anchorage Pilots and Anchorage Bucs are summer collegiate baseball teams. The Pilots formed in 1969 and the Bucs, which started out as the Cook Inlet Bucs, formed in 1980. Both teams are part of the Alaska Baseball League and are members of the National Baseball Congress.
But baseball has long been a favorite pastime for Alaskans.
Games began popping up all across the Last Frontier after Alaska joined the Union in 1867. One of the earliest accounts of playing ball was recorded during the winter of 1894. Gen. Frederick Funston, a Spanish American War hero, came upon a heated game being played by whalers of seven ships stranded in the arctic region that March. When Funston later submitted his report to his superiors, they were upset that he did not include the score of that game!
From Seward to Fairbanks to Valdez, the boys of summer challenged each other to ball games in the early 1900s. Women enjoyed playing the game, too. In 1914, an all woman team called The Lightning Strikers took a trophy for indoor play in the gold-rush town of Nome.
Folks were playing the game before Anchorage had plotted out its main street on Fourth Avenue in 1915, too. That Fourth of July, teams faced off near the mud flats along Ship Creek. By 1916, Anchorage had a regulation baseball diamond, built by the Bridge Engineers, near the railroad yards north of the creek.
Competition was keen – not only in Anchorage, but also with nearby communities like Knik and Seward. Fans who loved the game traveled by boat to Kern Creek, and then pumped themselves to Seward by handcars to catch a glimpse of the action.
After Alaska Railroad employee William F. Mulcahy arrived in 1922, interest in baseball continued to grow. In 1947, Mulcahy became Alaska’s first National Baseball Congress Commissioner, which was the beginning of a program that later carried the Anchorage Glacier Pilots and Anchorage Bucs to several national championships.
Many of the college kids that Anchorage baseball fans have watched play over the years have gone on to play for major league teams, too – including homerun king Mark McGuire, famous pitcher Randy Johnson (nicknamed The Big Unit) and Hall of Famer Tom Seaver.
So if you are looking for something fun to do this Fourth of July, head on over to the Mulcahy Stadium and watch Pilots and Bucs play ball – who knows, some of those players may go on to the major leagues in the not-to-distant future!
This segment aired on CBS Anchorage affiliate KTVA Channel 11 Daybreak on July 4, 2016.

Pike Place Market
Pike Place Market is a public market overlooking the Elliott Bay waterfront in Seattle, Washington, United States. The Market, which opened August 17, 1907, is one of the oldest continually-operated public farmer's markets in the United States.[citation needed] It is a place of business for many small farmers, craftspeople and merchants. It is also Seattle's most popular tourist destination.[citation needed] Located in Downtown, it occupies over 9 acres (36,000 m²). The Market is bounded by First Avenue to the east, Western Avenue to the west, Virginia Street to the north, and, to the south, a line drawn from First to Western Avenues halfway between Pike Street and Union Street. It is named after its central street, Pike Place, which runs northwest from Pike Street to Virginia Street.
The Market is built on the edge of a steep hill. It has several lower levels below the main level, featuring a variety of unique shops. Antique dealers, comic book sellers, and small family-owned restaurants are joined by one of the few remaining head shops in Seattle. The upper street level features fishmongers, fresh produce stands, and craft stalls operating in the covered arcades. Local farmers sell year-round in the arcades from tables they rent from the Market on a daily basis, in accordance with the Market's mission and founding goal: allowing consumers to Meet the Producer. The Market is also home to nearly 500 low income residents who live in 8 different buildings throughout the Market. The Market is run by the quasi-government Pike Place Market Preservation and Development Authority (PDA)
Location
Pike Place Market, looking west on Pike Street from First Avenue
The market is surrounded by Belltown on the north and the central business district and the central waterfront on the east and south, respectively. Boundaries are diagonal to the compass since the street grid is roughly parallel to the Elliott Bay shoreline.[2][3][4] The boundaries enclosing 17 acres are nearly those approved by the Washington Advisory Council on Historic Preservation, created by the 1966 National Historic Preservation Act. The concentration of historic buildings effectively defines the neighborhood. Compromise with pressure by developers and the Seattle Establishment[5] subsequently reduced the official Pike Place Market Historic District designation to the 9 acres (36,000 m²), up from the 1.7 conceded by development interests.[6]
The original shore was mudflats below the bluffs west of Pike Place. In the later 19th century, Railroad Avenue was built on pilings through filled mudflats along what is now Western Avenue, with Alaskan Way built farther out as the fill was extended. Piers with warehouses for convenient stevedoring were extended northwest as filling was completed by 1905.[7] The Pike Place Market is listed in the United States National Register of Historic Places.
Currently, the longest tenured vendor at the Pike Place Market is Sol Amon's Pure Food Fish. Inheriting the business from his father, Sol has donned his apron at Pure Food Fish for over fifty years. Sol's presence can often be seen outside his stall chatting with visitors and helping them choose the best fish to bring home to their families. He helps them package his special Alderwood Smoked Salmon or Copper River Salmon to enjoy in their homes after their trip. In honor of Sol, in 2006 the Seattle City Council permanently designated April 11 as Sol Amon Day commemorating his 50 years of service to the market.[10]
One of the Market's major attractions is Pike Place Fish Market, where employees throw three-foot salmon and other fish to each other rather than passing them by hand. When a customer orders a fish, an employee at the Fish Market's ice-covered fish table picks up the fish and hurls it over the countertop, where another employee catches it and preps it for sale.

SUMMARY
=======
Alexandria is an independent city in the Commonwealth of Virginia in the United States. As of the 2010 census, the population was 139,966, and in 2016, the population was estimated to be 155,810. Located along the western bank of the Potomac River, Alexandria is approximately 7 miles (11 km) south of downtown Washington, D.C.
Like the rest of Northern Virginia, as well as Central Maryland, modern Alexandria has been influenced by its proximity to the U.S. capital. It is largely populated by professionals working in the federal civil service, in the U.S. military, or for one of the many private companies which contract to provide services to the federal government. One of Alexandria's largest employers is the U.S. Department of Defense. Another is the Institute for Defense Analyses. In 2005, the United States Patent and Trademark Office moved to Alexandria, and in 2017, so did the headquarters of the National Science Foundation.
The historic center of Alexandria is known as Old Town. With its concentration of boutiques, restaurants, antique shops and theaters, it is a major draw for all who live in Alexandria as well for visitors. Like Old Town, many Alexandria neighborhoods are compact and walkable. It is the 7th largest and highest-income independent city in Virginia.
A large portion of adjacent Fairfax County, mostly south but also west of the city, is named Alexandria, but it is under the jurisdiction of Fairfax County and separate from the city; the city is sometimes referred to as the City of Alexandria to avoid confusion (see the Neighborhoods paragraph below). In 1920, Virginia's General Assembly voted to incorporate what had been Alexandria County as Arlington County to minimize confusion.
Captain Cook Hotel and Resolution Park
Captain Cook is a very nice hotel, rooms are large, walking distance to nice restaurants, and a couple of blocks away from the Tony Knowles Coastal Trail which passes through scenic Resolution Park.
