We visited the Arctic Fox Center in Sudavik, Iceland and were fortunate to be able to interact with two orphaned Arctic Foxes under the care of the center. Their mother had passed away so they were raised by the kind people at the center. This fox was named Mori and he was so funny! This particular video shows him trying to steal my hand cleansing wipes and my skirt...

Arctic Fox Environment in Iceland
In Iceland the arctic fox population decreased in 2009/2010 hunting season at 32% for first time since the population estimates were started in 1979, Unnsteinsdóttir (2014) Here, 3 camera traps installed inland in Crispus NGO wildlife laboratory. For more data visit the following blog
Inland, where foxes do not have the cliffs bird nests or where they are far from the ocean shores where food resources are abundant, Crispus NGO Sibiu established an area with complex ecological networks, specially of not-related anthropogenic food.
This is a control area where we are planning to monitor arctic foxes in the next three years for a better understanding of species dynamic related to a birch forest environment.
The raptor bird species in this video sequences (third camera) was identified with the help of Lou Bertalan, Lucian Claudiu Grapini and Attila Marton, members in Birding Romania (FB group), Ómar Runólfsson, bird specialist from Iceland and Dr. Olafur Nielsen, a falcon and ptarmigan specialist from The Icelandic Institute of Natural History.

The Artic Fox in Iceland visited me at my summer-house, ate from my hand, sat on my deck, behaving like my dog. Kept me company, listen to me talking, moving her ears like in understanding. The name in Icelandic is Tófa and it is feminine word. it's also Refur and then it's masculine word
Better protection of Iceland's arctic fox

On the Iceland highlands a fox came down to meet us.
We placed the Gopro camera on the snow and took few steps back and got a nice video of the fox.

Iceland Road Trip Part III - featuring the Arctic Fox Centre, Þingvellir tectonic plates and more!
Three lads from the UK take on Iceland! This is the third and final installment in a three-part series that begins with us entering the West Fjords and a visit to the museum of sorcery and witchcraft!
As we head deeper into the fjords we hit the Litlibaer cafe for some waffles before moving onto the Arctic Fox Centre.
We spend the night of the fifth day camping near Bolungarvik and and old lighthouse that marks the furthest north we've ever been. The following day we detour to the farthest west you can go to see the puffins at the Látrabjarg cliffs!
The seventh day sees the crew visiting the Þingvellir national park and the tectonic plates, and then finally onto Reykjavík with all the attarctions it has to offer!
