Federal authorities raid Bicycle Hotel and Casino in Bell Gardens
Federal authorities raided the Bicycle Hotel and Casino in Bell Gardens on Tuesday morning as part of an ongoing investigation.
Virginia Kice, spokeswoman for U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement in Los Angeles, said in a statement authorities could not comment on “the scope or nature of the investigation.”
The search warrant issued by a United States magistrate judge was filed under seal in relation to an ongoing investigation,” she said in a statement.
The raid was executed at the casino, 888 Bicycle Casino Drive, by members of the Los Angeles High Intensity Financial Crime Area Task Force, a group that includes ICE’s Homeland Security Investigations; IRS Criminal Investigation; the California Department of Justice, Bureau of Gambling Control; and the U.S. attorney's office, she said.

FEDERAL AGENTS SERVE SEARCH WARRANT AT BICYCLE HOTEL & CASINO IN BELL GARDENS
Ringer GARDENS, Calif. (KABC) - Federal operators from numerous offices executed a court order Tuesday morning at the Bicycle Hotel and Casino in Bell Gardens, experts said.
Few points of interest were quickly revealed about the warrant, which a representative for U.S. Migration and Customs Enforcement said was issued by a justice judge and recorded under seal in connection to a progressing examination.
Since the warrant is under seal, we are not ready to remark on the degree or nature of the examination, said Virginia Kice, ICE's western provincial interchanges executive.
The operation at the inn club, situated at Florence and Eastern roads, was being directed by individuals from the Los Angeles High-Intensity Financial Crime Area Task Force, which incorporates ICE's Homeland Security Investigations. The IRS Criminal Investigation division, the California Bureau of Gambling Control and the U.S. Lawyer's Office additionally took an interest in the strike.
Country Security Investigations faculty were found in the office's parking areas, whose passageways were cordoned off by yellow tape and ICE vehicles.

The World Poker Tour (WPT) is a series of international poker tournaments featuring most of the world's professional players. It was started in the United States by attorney/television producer Steven Lipscomb, who now serves as CEO of WPT Enterprises (WPTE), the firm that controlled the World Poker Tour up to November 2009. In 2008, the WPT started offering bracelets to its event champions. Players who won a title prior to the release of the bracelet, were given one retroactively.
In November 2009, PartyGaming announced its acquisition of the World Poker Tour from WPTE for $12,300,000.
In 2008, the WPT launched a new product called ClubWPT. It is a subscription-based club where members can pay a monthly fee to play in tournaments that award over $100,000 in cash and prizes each month
Commentary - The show's hosts, Mike Sexton and Vince Van Patten, sit at a booth near the final table, providing commentary and occasionally interacting with the players during the game. However, their specific comments about hole cards are recorded after the tournament takes place because gaming regulations prohibit them from observing a live feed of the hole card cameras while on the set.
The World Poker Tour Walk of Fame is designed to honor those poker players who have played the game well at the highest levels as well as those who have promoted the spread of it through film, television, and literature.
WPT Ladies - In January 2008, the WPT announced a set of tournaments for women, known as WPT Ladies.[6] The first season had five events, with buy-ins ranging from $300 to $1,500. Nancy Todd finished first in the Ladies Championship with Vanessa Selbst finishing second. There are currently no WPT Ladies events scheduled.
WPT Walk of Fame - In February 2004, the World Poker Tour Walk of Fame inducted its second members at the Commerce Casino in a ceremony before top pros and celebrities in town for the World Poker Tour Invitational Poker Tournament. The induction ceremony was staged on the doorstep of Commerce Casino.
No new players have been inducted since 2004.The original inductees were Doyle Brunson, Gus Hansen and James Garner.
Player of the Year - While the winner of the season-ending WPT World Championship (simply the WPT Championship before season 9) is deemed that season's WPT Champion, the WPT also determines a Player of the Year to recognize the player who achieves consistent high finishes in WPT events throughout the entire season.

The Bicycle Casino Unveils Spectacular Hotel Addition
The Bicycle Casino unveiled its planned addition of a spectacular 100-room, five star hotel to the Casino. Special guests for the important event included California Governor Jerry Brown and State Senator Ricardo Lara.
The hotel project will add new amenities including an outdoor 2nd floor pool, spa & fitness center, business & guest services area, brewpub & restaurant, and 15,000 sq. ft. in multi-function rooms.
During construction the hotel project will generate approximately 300 construction related jobs, and upon completion it is expected to create 160 new permanent jobs. In a community experiencing 16.3% unemployment, the increased job opportunities are tremendously impactful. The hotel is expected to be complete by Spring 2015.
