The Mitre Bar in Edinburgh, Scotland - Innis & Gunn Lager Beer, Moorhouse's Black Cat Reserve Ale
THE MITRE BAR
131-133 High Street, Edinburgh, City Of Edinburgh, EH1 1SG
INNIS & GUNN LAGER BEER
Inspired by some of the most popular pints in brewing history, our new range pays homage to some legendary beers...Headlining our new Craft Brewed range is our Lager, made in small batches with Naked Golden Oats.
LAGER BEER
4.6% ABV
Our Lager is made in small batches with Naked Golden Oats and great Scottish pride and exuberance, which give it its full flavour and very smooth finish.
Unusually, as well as our own, unique Lager malt, we have added some Naked Golden Oats to the brew, which impart a satisfying smoothness to the finish.
Naked Golden Oats are grown without husks so that even more goodness and flavour can be extracted during brewing.
AVAILABILITY
For now this beer is only available in a tiny handful of establishments in the UK and Canada. Watch this space to find out when it will be making its way to other corners of the globe.
TASTING NOTES
Colour: Pale gold
Smell: Lemon zest, macadamia nuts, sweet biscuity malt
Taste: Crisp and light. Soft, aromatic hops and rich creaminess from the oats
Finish: Smooth and refreshing
MOORHOUSE'S BLACK CAT RESERVE
Moorhouse’s, the Lancashire-based independent brewer is to launch a bewitching special edition of it’s ‘Black Cat’ dark ale (3.4%), a former winner of the coveted CAMRA Champion Beer of Britain. Primarily available as a 4.6% cask beer, there will also be a 7% version with limited cask availability – the latter will also be available in bottles, to be sold exclusively by the Booths supermarket group. Moorhouse’s describe the beer as “An intensely dark beer, Black Cat Reserve conjures deep complex notes of roasted coffee chocolate and mocha, balanced by hints of dark cherry and blackcurrant from the Polish Junga hop’. The Burnley brewer’s link with Halloween is well established – largely due to their award-winning brews with names centred around the story of the witches of Pendle Hill (aka Pendle Witches) near Burnley in Lancashire; Black Cat reserve will join other themed beers including ‘Broomstick Bitter’, ‘Witchhunt’, ‘Black Witch’, ‘Witches Cauldron’, and ‘Witchfinder General’ – continuing the theme of their core beers ‘Blond Witch’, ‘Pendle Witches Brew’ and of course ‘Black Cat’.

* SPRAY
An eye-popping dark comedy with colorful physicality and mesmerizing projection mapping!
A momentary attempt at revenge goes completely awry in this Korean social satire. After an accidental act of theft, a fed-up man suddenly gets the buzz he’s been searching for and is inspired to new acts of petty thievery. But when he finds the body of a dead cat in the parcel he’s pilfered, the man is faced with a quandary…
This satirical dark comedy tells the story in a vibrant physical style. Adapted from a popular Korean novel by Kim Kyung-wook, SPRAY is directed by Park Cheong-euy (Korean Theatre Directors’ Association Director of the Year 2018).
* Black and White Tea Room - Counsellor
This work reflects Korean society - to soothe the painful wounds of our times.
Theatre Hooam makes a welcome return with the award-winning The Black and White Tearoom. This is the story based on Korean real history. Duo actors reflect Korean political and historical situation and soothe the painful wound of our times. The show is about human relationship and talking about what the best revenge is. You could get the opportunities to develop a true relationship and also a keen insight into life and society. The show will run in repertory by British actors. The Black and White Tearoom has received a string of awards including ‘Best Actor’ and a ‘Special Award’ at the Tokyo Tiny-Alice Festival and ‘Director’ ‘Producer’ 2018 International Duo Festival in Korea.
“The text was very good and enjoyable and the acting was superb and believable” - Donald Steward
* Goliath in the Water
'As David fights against Goliath, We Live on!’
Inspired by Korean Novelist Kim Aeran's work 'Goliath in the Water', choreographer Kim Modeun’s piece reinterprets the original Korean literature into a contemporary dance performance. The stage mise-enscène and object are well-mixed with dynamic movement that depicts detailed and realistic literacy of the piece.
'Goliath in the Water', created by Modeun Company from South Korea is highly acclaimed for its reinterpretation of an original literature to the contemporary dance performance that reflects the
modern society and was selected by Arts Council Korea as ‘The Best New Piece of the Year’ and ‘The Repertory of the Year’ in 2017 and 2018.
“Well-depicted piece that you can clearly picture the main haracter of the novel in a closed circumstance where he cannot float or drown in the water. -Kim Min Guan, the Editor in Chief of the performance review magazine Art Scene
“Human frailty extincts. Is the final ending and the process coming from ‘myself in the independent existence’ or ‘another self in the social existence’? -Kim Modeun, Choreographer’s Note
* Camino de SANGJARU
The musical Pilgrimage -Korean Gipsy SANGJARU created their own original music on the road.
SANGJARU is the word combination of the 'box' and 'sack', which means 'sack in the box'. As the analogy says, the SANGJARU's goal and perspective is to create the new and freewheeling music in the frame of inherent traditional music. Korean Gipsy implies the art perspective of wandering gypsies. Inspired by Paulo Coelho's novel the Pilgrimage, they created the diversified numbers on the way to Santiago as wonderers. On their own musical pilgrimage route, Korean Gipsy SANGJARU created original music by stubbornly asking about tradition and modernity, the East and the West, youth and old age...on the road - Camino de SANGJARU.
All three members are skillful at Korean traditional instruments such as Ajaeng, Janggu, Geomungo even electric guitar, which means that audiences can enjoy the diverse color of music with mistically fused mixture of instruments.
* Doodle Pop
Draw Your Mind! Exciting Adventure!
Welcome to the eye-popping adventure presented on a big whiteboard! All the mysterious creatures appear and disappear while two mischievous friends play with each other with black ink markers. Let’s fill the blank and reform the stain! All the doodle comes to alive by the magic of projection. Interaction between the blank space and the impulse to fill it goes along with jaunty live music. Let the doodle stir up your imagination!

Back to Scotland Ep1 - Edinburgh
In June of 2016 my family went back to Scotland, where my mum was born and raised to the age of 5 when the family emigrated to Canada. My mum hadn't been back for a visit since she was 16. It was our first time there as a family and the first time ever for my dad and me.
This is the first of 5 episodes documenting our journey. It was a very special trip for a lot of reasons. Here we explore Edinburgh a little bit and take in a great show from Graeme E. Pearson at The Black Bull in Grassmarket. We also hike Arthur's Seat to take in the beautiful view of Edinburgh from the top.

FAQs:
Q. What's the background of 'Off to the Vet'?
A. ‘Off to the Vet’ film production and crowdfunding campaign was a huge undertaking for the Simon’s Cat Team. Our hope is to produce more long form, full colour content for our fans but without having to turn to them through crowdfunding again. The film was completed in 2015 and submitted it to a selection of international film festivals over the following months. During this time, it was exclusively available to all funders that contributed via our private production blog. The feedback we have received from our funders has been overwhelming positive and we hope they are extremely proud of making the film a possibility. If you are a funder and have any questions regarding the campaign, please contact us at igg@simonscat.com
Q. What software do you use?
A. Simon's Cat is made using Adobe Flash / TV Paint / CelAction animation software.
Q. Why does it take so long to make each Simon's Cat film?
A. Even though the films are made on computer software, they are still hand-animated in a traditional manner, frame to frame. It usually takes between 12 and 25 drawings to create 1 second of a Simon's Cat film.
Q. Where can I buy Simon’s Cat merchandise?
A. You can purchase Simon's Cat products from the official webshop:

These are straight up live sessions *NO EDITS - NO OVERDUBS* recorded and shot all in ONE take, done in the venue, on that night. This has no trickery involved
With the both of our companies dedicated to showcasing these bands, we try and produce the best caliber of footage. We strive to make it feel like you are in the venue with a beer, feeling the atmosphere. Making this a fair representation of how good these bands are.
