Singapore Changi Airport Terminal 4 Cathay Pacific Lounge - 國泰航空樟宜機場貴賓室
Before leaving Singapore, I tried out the new Cathay Pacific Lounge at Changi Airport Terminal 4. The lounge is located on the upper level of the Terminal and can be reached via escalators in the central part of the shopping area. The entrance to the lounge is diagonally opposite the Peranakan Gallery. In order to use the lounge, you must either be flying in Business Class with Cathay Pacific, or be at least a Marco Polo Club Silver or Oneworld Sapphire member.
The lounge is very empty and quiet, which is not surprising since Cathay Pacific is the only Oneworld airline that uses Terminal 4, and the terminal is inaccessible from the other 3. As a result, you don't need to worry about high ranked frequent flyers travelling on other Oneworld airlines using the lounge!
The lounge has been designed to cater to the taste of Singaporeans. The Noodle Bar and Food Hall each take up roughly half the area of the lounge. The Noodle Bar is found right at the entrance and serves Singaporean noodles like Seafood Laksa and Mee Siam, so no Dan Dan Mien this time! The Bureau (Office Area) can be found to the right side of the Noodle Bar, just before the washrooms.
The Food Hall is further into the lounge beyond the Noodle Bar. There is a small buffet consisting of a salad bar, a soup and several hot dishes. There is no bar, unlike the lounge in London Heathrow. There is ample seating throughout the area, with the most comfy seats in the innermost part of the lounge. I helped myself to a Mee Siam once I sat down. Since my flight was slightly delayed, I was able to chill out for quite a while before I headed to my gate.

Potato Talks Diving @ Hantu (Part 2)
If you are into marine life, nature & diving, this talk is for you.
Dive into the underwater world at Pulau Hantu (Island of Ghosts. Malay word for ghost is hantu) with Debby. She will show you what lies beneath.
Debby loves animals, environment and people. You will be inspired to do your bit to save the world once you get to know her causes. :)
Synopsis: Pulau Hantu is one of Singapore's most renowned Southern Islands. Despite its prominence, it is constantly left to cope with a relentlessly changing coastline and marine environment. For a long time, the threats to Pulau Hantu have avoided the scrutiny of the public and the brilliance of its marine habitat gone unheralded. Debby Ng will bring clarity to the usually murky waters of Pulau Hantu with her underwater photos and videos.
Bio: Debby is an ordinary human being that's trying to do the best she can with whatever she has.
Best known for her efforts to safeguard the future of Singapore's coral reefs through public outreach and policy work, Debby is also established for her humanitarian and environmental efforts in Nepal, where she has been working since 2008.
A photojournalist by trade, Debby has been telling stories about the environment and its people for over a decade. With a unique and holistic approach to her work, Debby is also a consultant with several international non-government organisations. As passionate about human welfare as she is about animal welfare, Debby's most recent undertakings have been to understand the condition of Singapore's migrant worker community. Debby has been a stringer photographer with Agence France-Presse since 2005, and has been a photojournalist with Asia Magazine since 2007. In 2005, she held her debut solo exhibition at the Epson Epsite Imaging Gallery (Singapore) to commemorate the First Anniversary of the 2006 Asian Tsunami.
Debby will share her experience as a photojournalist, and the impact that her work has had on raising public awareness. In 2008, she initiated the Life of my Sisters Project - a photographic documentary about the lives of young women in Nepal struggling for an education. Her images were exhibited at the Cathay Gallery (2009, Singapore), Nepal Arts Council (2010, Kathmandu), Bugol Park (2010, Kathmandu), and ION Orchard (2010, Singapore). Her debut photo book Life of my Sisters was published in 2009 and is available at Select Bookshop. Through her work, Debby aspires to educate the public on issues that are less highlighted.

Our Sister Mambo Poster Painting Live Demonstration
Cathay welcomed Mr Ang Hao Sai, one of the last surviving artisans of a once flourising movie poster painting industry, back to The Cathay to paint the poster of Our Sister Mambo.
Mr Ang Hao Sai began his 30 year career of painting movie posters in the early half of the 1960s and quickly rose to become the studio's master painter.
In 1987, Mr Ang started his own poster painting business, relying on Cathay Organisation for most of his jobs.
It was with great pleasure to have this master painter back to paint the movie that commemorates Cathay's 80th anniversary.
