Located in the beautiful Orange County, this amazing Christian church building is made of reflective glass and was designed by famous American architect Philip Johnson.
Considered a major place of worship by the Crystal Cathedral Ministries, which is a congregation of the Reformed Church in America initiated by Robert H. Schuller in the year 1955, this church is now a property of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Orange. It is also a home base to the “Hour of Power” shown on television worldwide.

Houston Church Architects | St John Neumann
Houston Church Architects. Studio RED completed a worship center and narthex expansion for the catholic community at St. John Neumann in north Houston. The expanded worship center accommodates nearly 1,100 seats, enlarged public facilities and increased ministry areas. Partnered with a master plan which sought the most efficient and creative way to expand the worship facility which capturing as many priorities as possible within the project.
Expanded by nearly 4,000 sf to accommodate the increased seating capacity as well as a new day chapel, enlarged Narthex, new public restrooms and additional ministry spaces.
Includes a new working sacristy and full emersion baptistery, both with operating dry wells. The existing audio/visual and lighting systems were upgraded to include current technology.
The worship space was fitted with new pews and liturgical furniture. Extensive work was done to correct maintenance issues stemming from the original construction.
The HVAC system was also overhauled to meet the enlarged space and current standards for energy efficiency.

Designing a church sanctuary is different than building any other type of building. A new sanctuary must reflect the values of the community in which it resides. It also helps to integrate architecturally into the rest of the neighborhood/town. Reliance Church, with the help of architectural firm TR Design Group, designed a new building that addressed the churches functional needs, yet integrates into the community seamlessly.

The Diocese of Oakland will hold the 16th annual Chautauqua celebration on Saturday, October 2, 2010 at St. Joseph the Worker Church in Berkeley from 10:00am -- 4:30pm. Sponsored by the Ethnic Pastoral Centers the event celebrates the diversity within our Diocese. It begins with a Marian procession honoring Our Lady of Aparecida (Patroness of Brazil) in front of the church at 10:00am followed by a multicultural, multilingual Mass celebrated by the Most Reverend John S. Cummins. Revered George Mockel will be the homilist. Ethnic foods and cultural entertainment will be available throughout the day.

Historically home to the Chumash and Tongva, Los Angeles was claimed by Juan Rodríguez Cabrillo for Spain in 1542 along with the rest of what would become Alta California. The city was officially founded on September 4, 1781, by Spanish governor Felipe de Neve. It became a part of Mexico in 1821 following the Mexican War of Independence. In 1848, at the end of the Mexican–American War, Los Angeles and the rest of California were purchased as part of the Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo, becoming part of the United States. Los Angeles was incorporated as a municipality on April 4, 1850, five months before California achieved statehood. The discovery of oil in the 1890s brought rapid growth to the city. The completion of the Los Angeles Aqueduct in 1913, delivering water from Eastern California, later assured the city's continued rapid growth.
