Real Estate on Coronado Island
Coronado, aka Coronado Island, is located in San Diego California just across San Diego Bay from San Diego's downtown area. This nice area was praised for having the best beach in the United States, as ranked by the Laboratory for Coastal Research. This city is home to three beautiful, and major, resorts: Hotel Del Coronado, Loews Coronado Bay Resort, and Coronado Island Marriot. People should enjoy real estate in Coronado for it's wonderful beaches, nice warm and windy climate, and highly rated restaurants that provide a nice variety of cuisine choices. One of its main attractions would have to be its two live theatre companies: Lamb's Players Theatre, which is San Diego's third largest theatre company, and the Coronado Playhouse. Festivals also play a big part in making Coronado a fun place to explore. Ever 4th of July they host their popular July 4 parade. Its Independence Day activities start off with a 15 kilometer run/walk at dawn. In the day, they have many swimming activities, a two hour parade, a concert in Spreckels park, many art attractions, and then finishes off the day with the spectacular fireworks that protrude over Glorietta Bay. All in all, being part of the city with one of the most famous beaches in the world and many festivities is a great place for your real estate.

Doug McClure in Coronado 9 (1960)
Opening credits and scenes from the Coronado 9 episode The Widow of Kill Cove that Doug McClure appeared in between his first TV series Overland Trail and his second series Checkmate on Septemeber 6, 1960. In Coronado 9, Rod Cameron played Dan Adams, a former Naval Intelligence officer who now works as a private detective on the Coronado Peninsula near San Diego, California, but Dan managed to get around the world a bit, while most episodes were filmed in San Diego, Honolulu and New Orleans, a few set in Havana and London were shot on the Republic backlot. In The Widow of Kill Cove, a young friend of Dan's, Jimmy Hoak, played by Doug, persuades Dan to help a woman, Doris Denning , played by Beverly Garland, to find her husband, Robert, reported dead in a plane crash in Mexico, although his body has not been found. Doris is convinced he is still alive, the proof being his watch that a boy was found with near Morte Colleta, known in English as Kill Cove. Doug's role lasts about 11 minutes into the 25 minute episode, as Jimmy lives just long enough to regret helping Mrs Denning, whose husband turns out to be escaped convict Jack Bona, played by Anthony Caruso.

San Diego Naval Base Filming Inside the Base
It is a great experience to be inside the Naval Base in San Diego. The access to civilians is restricted unless you go with somebody who is part of the Navy. I got lucky, and one of my friends invited me to visit the Base.
The Base is huge, it has its own movie theatre, supermarket, restaurants and fast foods, gym…and so many other accommodations for the people who work there. Even when filming is not permitted, I got to record part of what it was the tour inside the Naval Station. I hope you enjoy as much as I did.

Rise and Fall of San Diego - Part 1 of 2
This is a description of the last million years of geologic history in the San Diego region, by Dr. Pat Abbott, geology professor emeritus, San Diego State University. He describes sea level changes due to ice ages and tectonic activity along the Rose Canyon fault. Video was made in 2002, copied from VHS to DVD by SDSU, then converted to MPEG and split into 2 parts for YouTube by me.
