Monday August 20th 2018 My wife and I went to the store around 6pm while a female cleaner was going room to room. She went in and made the bed... And took $120 out of my wallet that was hidden under the night table. I had $50 (2 20's and 2 5's) of dummy money on the mounted table. My wife had her purse on the bed I had my PS4 on the mounted table while connected to my PSVR headset ($300+ Equipment) on the bed. She moved my equipment to make the bed... Staff was very unprofessional and not thankful for the paying guest. DONT GO TO BROOKLYN HOUSE!!!!

Why did I make a home out of a dumpster? As a challenge to myself. And as a challenge to see if I could make a home that could go undetected in the city. People would just walk by. It would kinda be in this grey zone of legal housing, illegal housing. And to see if you could take such a small space, and make something that is actually livable.

But for one Californian artist his home from home in New York is a dumpster.
STORYLINE:
It's hardly an award-winning location.
But for American artist Gregory Kloehn, this dumpster is a home from home.
The standard US trash container was converted into a house as a holiday home for Kloehn while visiting New York from his hometown of Oakland, California.
Kloehn's art is inspired by mixing grandeur with social irony and that's part of what inspired this creation.

The dwelling now boasts all the comforts of a modern home.

Footage of failed terror attack in NYC (pipe bomb)
The Bangladeshi man accused of detonating a bomb last December in a New York City subway passageway on behalf of Islamic State was found guilty on Tuesday (November 6) of all six criminal counts against him, including use of a weapon of mass destruction and support of a terrorist organization, according to federal prosecutors.
The verdict against Akayed Ullah, 28, came after a week-long jury trial in Manhattan federal court. Ullah's lawyers could not immediately be reached for comment on the verdict. They had not contested the bombing charges, but said his motive was to end his life, not to support Islamic State even though he consumed the militant group's propaganda online.
Ullah was arrested last December after detonating a homemade bomb in a pedestrian tunnel connecting two subway lines and a bus terminal in midtown Manhattan. The explosion did not kill anyone.
Federal prosecutors said Ullah built the bomb out of a pipe taken from a construction site where he worked as an electrician, using match heads and sugar as explosives and screws as shrapnel. They said he was inspired by online Islamic State propaganda urging supporters to carry out lone wolf attacks.
Before the attack, prosecutors said, Ullah posted on Facebook: Trump you failed to protect your nation, followed by an Arabic message expressing support of Islamic State.
Ullah lived with his mother, sister and two brothers in Brooklyn and was a green card holder. At the time of the attack his wife lived in Bangladesh, and the couple had a six-month-old son.
Ullah's wife told Bangladeshi investigators that Ullah had not prayed regularly before moving the United States, and officials said he had no criminal record in his home country.

Although most of the space in the World Trade Center complex was off-limits to the public, the South Tower featured an indoor and outdoor public observation area called Top of the World Trade Center Observatories on its 107th and 110th floors.
The original World Trade Center was a complex with seven buildings featuring landmark twin towers in Lower Manhattan, New York City, United States. The complex opened on April 4, 1973, and was destroyed in 2001 during the September 11 attacks. The site is currently being rebuilt with five new skyscrapers and a memorial to the casualties of the attacks. As of November 2011, only one skyscraper has been completed, with four more expected to be completed before 2020. One World Trade Center will be the lead building for the new complex and is expected to be finished by 2013. A sixth tower is still awaiting confirmation to be built. At the time of their completion, the original 1 and 2 World Trade Center were the tallest buildings in the world.
The complex was designed in the early 1960s by Minoru Yamasaki and Associates of Troy, Michigan, and Emery Roth and Sons of New York.[2] The twin 110-story towers used a tube-frame structural design. To gain approval for the project, the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey agreed to take over the Hudson & Manhattan Railroad, which became the Port Authority Trans-Hudson (PATH). Groundbreaking for the World Trade Center took place on August 5, 1966. The North Tower (1) was completed in December 1972 and the South Tower (2) was finished in July 1973. The construction project involved excavating a large amount of material, which was later used as landfill to build Battery Park City on the west side of Lower Manhattan. The cost for the construction was $400 million ($2,200,000,000 in 2011 dollars).[3] The complex was located in the heart of New York City's downtown financial district and contained 13.4 million square feet (1.24 million m2) of office space.[4][5] The Windows on the World restaurant was located on the 106th and 107th floors of 1 World Trade Center (the North Tower) while the Top of the World observation deck was located on the 107th floor of 2 World Trade Center (the South Tower). Other World Trade Center buildings included the Marriott World Trade Center; 4 World Trade Center; 5 World Trade Center; 6 World Trade Center, which housed the United States Customs. All of these buildings were built between 1975 and 1981. The final building constructed was 7 World Trade Center, which was built in 1985. The second King Kong was filmed in 1976 with some scenes mentioning and showing the World Trade Center. The World Trade Center experienced a fire on February 13, 1975, and a bombing on February 26, 1993. In 1998, the Port Authority decided to privatize the World Trade Center, leasing the buildings to a private company to manage, and awarded the lease to Silverstein Properties in July 2001.
On the morning of September 11, 2001, Al-Qaeda-affiliated hijackers flew two 767 jets into the complex, one into each tower, in a coordinated terrorist attack. After burning for 56 minutes, the South Tower (2) collapsed, followed a half-hour later by the North Tower (1), with the attacks on the World Trade Center resulting in 2,753 deaths.[6] 7 World Trade Center collapsed later in the day and the other buildings, although they did not collapse, had to be demolished because they were damaged beyond repair. The process of cleanup and recovery at the World Trade Center site took eight months. The first new building at the site was 7 World Trade Center, which opened in May 2006. The Lower Manhattan Development Corporation (LMDC), established in November 2001 to oversee the rebuilding process, organized competitions to select a site plan and memorial design. Memory Foundations, designed by Daniel Libeskind, was selected as the master plan, which included the 1,776-foot (541 m) One World Trade Center, three office towers along Church Street and a memorial designed by Michael Arad. #911 #NewYork #2001

One Brooklyn-- Faces of DAPA & DACA photo Exibit at Borough Hall
Brooklyn Borough President Eric L. Adams and Make the Road New York launched “Faces of DAPA & DACA+,” a photo exhibit at Brooklyn Borough Hall featuring portraits and stories of individuals and families directly impacted by Deferred Action for Parents of Americans and Lawful Permanent Residents (DAPA) and Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) Expansion, administrative relief programs enacted by President Barack Obama that are currently being reviewed by the United States Supreme Court. Days before oral arguments will be heard in United States v. Texas, a case concerning these executive actions, a display was unveiled that includes giant banners hanging over the historic steps of the building. Borough President Adams and representatives from Make the Road New York spoke about how the exhibition is meant to educate the public and highlight the importance of the Supreme Court ruling in favor of keeping immigrant families together.
“In Brooklyn, we are all immigrants of different generations,” said Borough President Adams. “Immigration defines Brooklyn, where nearly 40 percent of residents were born in another country and 47 percent of households speak a language other than English at home. I am proud to showcase this exhibit with Make the Road New York in Brooklyn Borough Hall — the People’s House — to reveal the true faces of immigrants who have come here to work, attend school, and pursue the American Dream.”
“We are all tired of the threat to millions of families hovering over children and parents because our federal legislature refuses to fix our broken immigration system,” said Deputy Brooklyn Borough President Diana Reyna. “Doing nothing is not an option. Comprehensive immigration reform will bring millions out of the shadows, helping families as well as the best and brightest doctors, engineers, entertainers and entrepreneurs stay in the United States. The symbol that represents our great nation is the Statue of Liberty — not an ICE [Immigration and Customs Enforcement] official or jacket. Engraved on Lady Liberty, a quote from Emma Lazarus echoes ‘Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free…” We are urging the Supreme Court to bring light and not darkness.”
“We would like to thank Borough President Adams for partnering with Make the Road New York on this exhibit,” said Javier H. Valdés, co-executive director of Make the Road New York. “What better way than to use the borough of Brooklyn to demonstrate the positive role that immigrants have had in our beloved borough. We hope the photo exhibit sparks a healthy conversation about the role of the immigrant community in this country and pushes back against the hateful rhetoric that many have used lately.”
“As a mother of a mixed-status family — three of my children are US citizens and one of my daughters benefited from President Obama’s 2012 DACA initiative — DAPA would give my family relief from the fear of being torn apart,” said Catalina Villalba, an undocumented Make the Road New York member featured in the exhibit. “Once DAPA goes into effect, I will have the opportunity to obtain a better job and ultimately a better future for my daughters and family. Until that day happens, I will continue to live in fear of being separated from my children.”
The “Faces of DAPA & DACA+” launch was also attended by Council Members Carlos Menchaca, chair of the Committee on Immigration, as well as Council Member Antonio Reynoso and a rep for Representative Nydia Velázquez. The display will run at Brooklyn Borough Hall through Saturday, May 14th and is part of a national effort that will culminate with a large exhibition in Washington, DC in June during Immigrant Heritage Month and before the Supreme Court’s decision announcement. Immigrant groups around the country will be participating in the “Faces of DAPA & DACA+” series, with events planned in Alabama, Arkansas, California, Connecticut, Illinois, Maryland, New York, Wisconsin, and Washington, DC.
