LAKE KAWAGUCHIKO: best view of MOUNT FUJI
Visiting Mount Fuji from Lake Kawaguchiko is a must for anyone traveling to Japan and since it's pretty close to Tokyo, a day trip is the best way to see it.
If you are searching for the best view of Mount Fuji there are a couple of places to chose from and even though you might be tempted to go and see it from Hakone because of the convenient way to get there and the multitude of day passes available, I recommend the less traveled path, Lake Kawaguchiko.
Okutama! The furthest station in Tokyo! Nature time!
こんにちは! Dzień dobry! 안녕하세요!
We went to Okutama which is rich with mountain scenery. It takes some time to get there, but it's worthy to see all things what this place offer us to explore... Clean pure water in a streams, surrounded by woods and plenty of fishermans! It looks like a countryside but still this is Tokyo. It's located near to mount Fuji and its famous with huge stone factory and enormous dam.
We also went to scary, abandoned old facility (out of service since in 1966) and what happened later... we can't believe even until now (gooseflesh)... creepy!
New advanture time! See it with us. We hope we can inspire you to explore more in Japan.
Best regards,
team G!G!

When we arrived, we dropped our bags at our hotel before walking to the Mount Kachi Kachi ropeway to ascend the mountain for great views of Mount Fuji.
We return to our wonderful Onsen hotel - Onsenji Yumodono. Our room was amazing and we enjoyed relaxing in our hot bath.

Mount Fuji Panaroma 1- viewed from Lake Kawaguchiko, near Sunnide Resort, Japan
Thank God for this trip to Japan. We stayed 1 night (27/5/2010) at Sunnide Resort/ Sunnide Village where we can see a splendid view of Mount Fuji on a clear day (usually morning). Walking along the footpath towards Town center, we see a refection of Mount Fuji on the waters, see purple Iris flowers, and trees and greenery.

Mt Fuji View || Shinkansen || Kyoto to Tokyo
Mount Fuji is with 3776 meters Japan's highest mountain. It is not surprising that the nearly perfectly shaped volcano has been worshiped as a sacred mountain and experienced big popularity among artists and common people throughout the centuries.
Mount Fuji is an active volcano, which most recently erupted in 1707. It stands on the border between Yamanashi and Shizuoka Prefectures and can be seen from Tokyo and Yokohama on clear days.
Another easy way to view Mount Fuji is from the train on a trip between Tokyo and Osaka. If you take the shinkansen from Tokyo in direction of Nagoya, Kyoto and Osaka, the best view of the mountain can be enjoyed from around Shin-Fuji Station on the right hand side of the train, about 40-45 minutes into the journey.

Hola!
Sometimes you get the short end of the stick, and you won't be able to get up close and personal with Fuji-san. But, don't let that spoil your fun. There are still plenty of things to do in Kawaguchiko!

City Description:
Fujikawaguchiko is a Japanese resort town in the northern foothills of Mount Fuji. It’s a base for climbing the iconic volcano along the Yoshida Trail. It surrounds Lake Kawaguchi, one of the scenic Fuji Five Lakes, an area that's home to many hot springs and golf courses. The Kachi Kachi Ropeway ascends from the lake's eastern shore to Mount Tenjo's
Weather and Events:
Summer (Jul–Sep) is warm and humid (but cooler at high altitude), and it's the main season for climbing Mt. Fuji, whose peak is cold even in midsummer. Other peak periods include May for the pink cherry blossom flowers during the FujiZakura Festival (Apr–May), and Nov when the autumn foliage (or koyo) is at its most colorful, particularly by Lake Kawaguchi.
