‘Repair fairies’ help needy Hong Kongers fix their homes: Spirit of Hong Kong
Hong Kong is one of the richest cities in the world, but one in five people live in poverty.
Often, the impoverished live in dirty, squalid conditions, as they cannot afford renovations or even simple repairs.
Ivan Chan, who owns a renovation firm, has seen too many people who need help with home maintenance.
In 2015, he started training volunteers to help the needy fix their homes. Today, his non-profit organization Repair Fairy has worked with some 1,500 volunteers and fixed 3,000 homes.
The video is part of a series highlighting the winners of the 2018 Spirit of Hong Kong Awards, which is organized by the South China Morning Post. The awards have been shining a light on Hong Kong's unsung heroes since 2013.

This is a very old video of me dancing at Zinc when I had short hair but I thought I'd share it with you. This was filmed and produced by the very talented Albert Yung.
Culinary & Sightseeing Hong Kong!
Went to Hong Kong to EATTT!! and also to attend my dear friend Stella's graduation.
Places we ate in (in order):
- Mido Cafe - had the french toast, was one of the best french toast i’ve ever had.
- Yee Shun Milk Factory - one of the local’s favorite chachanteng places, but not my cup of tea. the macaroni soup was quite basic, and the milk pudding was too milky for me.
- Mak’s Noodle - had the signature wonton noodle soup and it was so good. the noodle was cooked perfectly, not too soft and not too hard.
- Delicious Kitchen - the pork chop with veggie rice was bomb, the pork was crispy and glazed beautifully, the rice was also really good.
- Tai Cheong Bakery - good place to get good egg tart.
- Arabica Coffee - they have the best iced latte i’ve ever had.
- Yardbird - a bit too overrated, feedbacks on the internet was too good to be true, food was not bad though, but was not very good too.
- Dim dim sum - typical dim sum food, the cheong fan was good though.
- Oddies Foodies - Hongkong style waffles, was ok.
- Chau Kee - the salted egg french toast is a must try, the fried silverpin noodle with XO sauce was also very good.
- Tiger Sugar - brown sugar boba, the boba was damn good but the milk was a bit too sweet since we are not able to choose the sugar level.
Other places we ate in but not in the vlog:
- Charlie’s Chilli Kitchen - damn good mala, a must try when in hong kong.
- Omotesando Coffee - very nice interior and very good matcha latte.
- Bizou - very good pasta.
- Evelyn’s Garden - ok chinese food.
