Impeachment trial of President Trump | Jan. 29, 2020 (FULL LIVE STREAM)
House impeachment managers and President Trump’s lawyers have concluded their opening arguments in the Senate. The impeachment trial moves into the question period for both sides on Jan. 29, when senators submit questions in writing to Chief Justice John G. Roberts Jr. The chief justice will read questions out loud, alternating between the majority and minority for up to eight hours.
Trump was impeached by the House of Representatives in December for abuse of power and obstruction of Congress. Impeachment does not mean that the president has been removed from office. In the next phase, the Senate must hold a trial to make that determination. A Senate impeachment trial has happened only two other times in American history and once in the modern era. At the center of the Democrats’ case is that Trump sought to withhold military assistance and an Oval Office meeting until Ukraine announced investigations into former vice president Joe Biden and his son.

Blue Mountain & Reading Grand Opening (1985)
This is a copy of a copy of footage I edited from the Grand Opening of the Tourist Passenger Service on the Blue Mountain & Reading Railroad on July 13, 1985. It featured the Royal Hudson Steam Locomotive CP #2839 traveling from Temple Station and a pair of freshly-painted CF7 diesel locomotives #600 and #601 from South Hamburg, Pa. (VHS Tape) Click on 480p
Both passenger train consists met at Leesport, Pa. for the golden spike ceremonies. The siding at Leesport, Pa. was about as far as the Royal Hudson traveled that day under its own power. It had to be towed the rest of the way to South Hamburg by the Blue Mountain & Reading EMD NW-2 switcher diesel #413.

Trump Impeachment Trial: Q&A begins (Day 8)
With opening arguments wrapped up in President Donald Trump’s impeachment trial, the next phase begins. For the next two days, senators get to ask questions of both legal teams. During that time, people will be looking for signs of whether enough Republicans will cross the aisle and agree to bring in witnesses -- particularly former national security adviser John Bolton.

SUMMARY
=======
The history of the United States Marine Corps (USMC) begins with the founding of the Continental Marines on 10 November 1775 to conduct ship-to-ship fighting, provide shipboard security and discipline enforcement, and assist in landing forces. Its mission evolved with changing military doctrine and foreign policy of the United States. Owing to the availability of Marine forces at sea, the United States Marine Corps has served in nearly every conflict in United States history. It attained prominence when its theories and practice of amphibious warfare proved prescient, and ultimately formed a cornerstone of the Pacific Theater of World War II. By the early 20th century, the Marine Corps would become one of the dominant theorists and practitioners of amphibious warfare. Its ability to rapidly respond on short notice to expeditionary crises has made and continues to make it an important tool for U.S. foreign policy. In February 1776, the Continental Marines embarked on their maiden expedition. The Continental Marines were disbanded at the end of the war, along with the Continental Navy. In preparation for the Quasi-War with France, Congress created the United States Navy and the Marine Corps. The Marines' most famous action of this period occurred in the First Barbary War (1801–1805) against the Barbary pirates. In the Mexican–American War (1846–1848), the Marines made their famed assault on Chapultepec Palace, which overlooked Mexico City, their first major expeditionary venture. In the 1850s, the Marines would see service in Panama, and in Asia. During the U.S. Civil War (1861–1865) the Marine Corps played only a minor role after their participation in the Union defeat at the first battle of First Bull Run/Manassas. Their most important task was blockade duty and other ship-board battles, but they were mobilized for a handful of operations as the war progressed. The remainder of the 19th century would be a period of declining strength and introspection about the mission of the Marine Corps. Under Commandant Jacob Zeilin's term (1864–1876), many Marine customs and traditions took shape. During the Spanish–American War (1898), Marines would lead U.S. forces ashore in the Philippines, Cuba, and Puerto Rico, demonstrating their readiness for deployment. Between 1900 and 1916, the Marine Corps continued its record of participation in foreign expeditions, especially in the Caribbean and Central and South America, which included Panama, Cuba, Veracruz, Haiti, Santo Domingo, and Nicaragua.
In World War I, battle-tested, veteran Marines served a central role in the United States' entry into the conflict. Between the world wars, the Marine Corps was headed by Major General John A. Lejeune, another popular commandant. In World War II, the Marines played a central role, under Admiral Nimitz, in the Pacific War, participating in nearly every significant battle. The Corps also ...
CNJ 113: Queen of the Valley
Like us on Facebook! Back at the head end of the Lehigh Gorge Scenic Railway's Santa Trains for another year on her own is ex-Central Railroad of New Jersey #113, an ALCO-built 0-6-0 restored by the many volunteers of the Project 113 group. For December 4th and 18th, the massive anthracite-burning switcher saw high speed running yet again, reaching speeds of up to 30mph, of which many engines of this wheel arrangement in the United States do not see often at all. One could imagine, just for a brief moment, that this engine could pull the Queen of the Valley trains that the CNJ ran during its prime with a display like this. Now please enjoy this video brought to you by Blue Comet Productions!
This video was filmed on December 4th and 18th, 2016.
A very special thanks goes out to all of the volunteers of Project 113, as well as the crews of the engine and the passengers who came out to support the nonprofit group!

ch 18) The Impossible Victory: Vietnam
chapter 18: A People's History (Of The United States) Howard Zinn.
~
Chapter 18, The Impossible Victory: Vietnam, covers the Vietnam War and resistance to it. Zinn argues that America was fighting a war that it could not win, as the Vietnamese people were in favor of the government of Ho Chi Minh and opposed the regime of Ngo Dinh Diem, thus allowing them to keep morale high. Meanwhile, the American military's morale was very low, as many soldiers were put off by the atrocities they were made to take part in, such as the My Lai massacre. Zinn also tries to dispel the popular belief that opposition to the war was mainly among college students and middle-class intellectuals, using statistics from the era to show higher opposition from the working class. Zinn argues that the troops themselves also opposed the war, citing desertions and refusals to go to war, as well as movements such as Vietnam Veterans Against the War. Also covered is the US invasions of Laos and Cambodia, Agent Orange, the Pentagon Papers, Ron Kovic, and raids on draft boards.
