The Adventure
Once inside the elegant Victorian Exposition-style building, you'll marvel at an ornate 86-foot-long, hand-painted mural as you climb aboard a giant clam shell and slowly descend below the waves to an underwater world teeming with movement, color and magic. This elaborate Omnimover-style ride (like the classic Haunted Mansion) features high-energy songs, state-of-the-art Audio Animatronics characters and immersive special effects that transport you inside scenes from the animated classic.
So pack up your dinglehoppers, tune up your snarfblatts and prepare to be immersed in Ariel's adventures!

On your voyage, you'll find an ocean of favorite characters from the film including Ariel, Prince Eric, Sebastian, Flounder, Scuttle and even the wicked sea witch Ursula—towering over you at 7.5-feet tall and 12-feet wide!

In addition to the astounding sights, your journey will have you singing along with the unforgettable songs from the film, including Part of Your World, Under the Sea, Poor Unfortunate Souls and Kiss the Girl.

Disney's California Adventure, California - The Little Mermaid: Ariel's Undersea Adventure HD (2015)
Disney California Adventure, commonly referred to as California Adventure, is a theme park located in Anaheim, California, owned and operated by The Walt Disney Company through its Parks and Resorts division. The 72-acre (29 ha) park is themed after the history and culture of the state of California. The park opened in 2001, and it is the second of two theme parks built at the Disneyland Resort complex, after Disneyland Park.
The concept of a theme park dedicated to California arose from a meeting of Disney executives in 1995, following the cancellation of the WestCOT project. Construction of the park began in 1998, and was completed by early 2001. Disney initially projected high attendance rates at the new park, but a series of preview openings held in January 2001 led to negative reviews, and after the park officially opened to the public on February 8, 2001, the company's attendance projections were never met. Disney spent the next several years incrementally adding new rides, shows, and attractions, and implementing other promotions aimed at boosting attendance. In 2007, Disney announced a major expansion of the park as well as a major overhaul of a significant portion of the park. Construction lasted for five years and was completed in stages, culminating with the opening of Buena Vista Street and Cars Land in June 2012.
According to the Themed Entertainment Association, the park hosted approximately 8.5 million guests in 2013, making it the 10th-most visited theme park in the world that year.
Paradise Pier is a themed land at Disney California Adventure, Disneyland's sister park, which are all part of the Disneyland Resort. Its appearance is based on that of Victorian boardwalks that were once found along the coast of California. Despite its name and the presence of a nearby man-made lake, Paradise Pier is not actually a pier, but merely a waterside area of the park. The roller coaster California Screamin' sprawls across much of it, with various other attractions and forms of entertainment scattered around it.
A new attraction, Toy Story Midway Mania!, opened on June 17, 2008. The attraction is the first in a series of theming upgrades to the land and park as a whole. This was followed by changes to the Sun Wheel to become Mickey's Fun Wheel and new Games of the Boardwalk in 2009. In 2010, World of Color and Silly Symphony Swings were added. To complete the Paradise Pier makeover, Disney opened Goofy's Sky School and The Little Mermaid: Ariel's Undersea Adventure.
The Little Mermaid: Ariel's Undersea Adventure (titled Under the Sea: Journey of the Little Mermaid in Walt Disney World) is a dark ride attraction based on the Disney animated film The Little Mermaid, located in Paradise Pier at Disney California Adventure and in Fantasyland at Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom. The ride opened on June 3, 2011 at Disney California Adventure, and on December 6, 2012 at Magic Kingdom.

Darling it's better, down where it's wetter, take it from me. This was a fantastic story type ride, and the fact that it holds special significance to Carrie and I made it all the better. I had spent the majority of this Sunday afternoon on my own, but near the end of the day Liz caught up with me for some dessert at Ghiradellis! So excited was I that I just had to take her over to Ariels Undersea Adventure for a romantic ride with our favorite Little Mermaid.

Grand Opening of The Little Mermaid Ride at Disney California Adventure
June 2, 2011 - As part of the grand opening of The Little Mermaid ~ Ariel's Undersea Adventure ride at Disney California Adventure, they put on a little song and dance for the press. I wasn't planning to shoot video, so I didn't have a tripod with me, but it was crying out for video, so excuse the shaky camera.

Disneyland Park – Upon its opening on July 17, 1955, Disneyland introduced a new concept in family entertainment and launched the theme park industry. Disneyland presented 18 major attractions on its Opening Day including the Mad Tea Party, the Jungle Cruise, Autopia and the Mark Twain Riverboat, and it featured five themed lands: Fantasyland, Adventureland, Tomorrowland, Frontierland and Main Street, U.S.A. Today, Disneyland is an evolving 85-acre American institution featuring more than 60 adventures and attractions in eight themed lands, having added New Orleans Square in 1966, Critter Country (originally Bear County) in 1972 and Mickey’s Toontown in 1993. Construction on a future Star Wars-themed land began in 2016. Favorite Disneyland attractions include Pirates of the Caribbean, Star Tours, “it’s a small world,” Indiana Jones Adventure and the mountain range of thrill rides: Matterhorn Bobsleds, Space Mountain, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad and Splash Mountain. Entertainment is presented throughout the park, with nighttime spectaculars, stage shows including “Mickey and the Magical Map,” “Remember… Dreams Come True” fireworks and the beloved Main Street Electrical Parade, returning for a limited time encore performance on Jan. 20, 2017.
Disney California Adventure Park – Since its opening in 2001 with such popular attractions as, California Screamin’ and Grizzly River Run, Disney California Adventure has been bringing adventure and fun to life with Disney storytelling magic... With the addition of Cars Land and Buena Vista Street in 2012, the park features more than 35 adventures and attractions plus distinctive entertainment and dining.
The spectacular “Frozen – Live at the Hyperion” musical premiered in 2016.This adaption of “Frozen,” the Walt Disney Animation Studios blockbuster film, delights guests of all ages with elaborate costumes and sets, stunning special effects, show-stopping production numbers and some unique theatrical surprises.
New for summer 2017, guests will embark on a comically cosmic adventure at Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: BREAKOUT!, dropping into a new Super Hero universe inspired by the popular “Guardians of the Galaxy” film.
Disney California Adventure has grown from its original three themed lands – Golden State, Paradise Pier and Hollywood Pictures Backlot – to a total of eight lands including the 12-acre Cars Land and Buena Vista Street, “a bug’s land” (which opened in 2002), a renamed Hollywood Land, Grizzly Peak featuring the newly reimagined Grizzly Peak Airfield and the exciting new attraction Soarin’ Around the World, Pacific Wharf (all formerly parts of the Golden State area) and Paradise Pier.
Among the newer attractions in Disney California Adventure are Toy Story Mania!, an interactive, ride-through attraction where guests enter into a 4D carnival midway hosted by the “Toy Story” characters; “World of Color,” an award-winning, nighttime water spectacular featuring nearly 1,200 fountains that bring Disney animation to life; and The Little Mermaid ~ Ariel’s Undersea Adventure, a “dark ride” that transports guests “under the sea” to experience scenes and beloved songs from the Little Mermaid film.
The opening of Cars Land in 2012 added Radiator Springs Racers, a high-octane indoor/outdoor adventure that revs through Radiator Springs and concludes with a high-speed race through the mountains of Ornament Valley, and Mater’s Junkyard Jamboree, in which baby tractors swing guests through a Cars Land hoedown. Luigi’s Rollickin’ Roadsters invites guests to climb aboard miniature Italian roadsters, Luigi’s Italian cousins, as they whirl into the traditional dances of their village. Buena Vista Street offers the Red Car Trolley attraction and Carthay Circle Restaurant, one of the premiere dining locations at the Disneyland Resort.

So a little about me. I grew up in Florida where going to Walt Disney World was something we did ALLLLL the time. My first real job was a Cast Member @ WDW. I've also worked for Sea World, Lion Country Safari(FL) Disneyland, & Knott's Berry Farms. But now I got to get my mind off of the pain of Lupus, osteoporosis & fibromyalgia. and yes i'm only in my 30's but have had lupus since I was 15. But one thing I have learned is going to the parks gets my mind off the pain. And if it works for me. Maybe it will work for someone who can't get out of bed or make it to the parks.
