Big Move For Museum Showcasing Small Objects
The National Museum of Toys and Miniatures in Kansas City, Mo. houses one of the largest toy collections on public display in the United States. In January, the museum closed its doors for a yearlong renovation, but the work inside continues. The staff has been busily packing up their extensive collection of some 72,000 objects, most of them very small.
One of the star attractions of the collection is the Coleman dollhouse. The largest dollhouse in the museum's collection, it measures 9 feet tall and 8 feet wide and once belonged to the wealthy Coleman family from Lebanon, Pa. George Dawson Coleman and his brother Robert built the successful North Lebanon Furnaces in the 1840s.

Steamboat Arabia Museum
The Steamboat Arabia Museum in Kansas City, MO offers a look inside a past that almost all of us are too young to remember. A past filled with pioneers who traveled west in search of a better life and of those who fell victim to that hard and frustrating journey.
Inside the Steamboat Arabia Museum there are thousands of artifacts including anchors, machinery and objects as small as buttons that the passengers carried with them on that fateful day when the ship sank into the Missouri.
