Lindeman Pass - Blue Mountains National Park, Australia
[SET PLAYBACK SETTINGS TO 720P OR 1080P] Lindeman Pass is an historic walking route in the Blue Mts of NSW. It has a heartbreaking history of one man's dream in the early 1900's to link Wentworth Falls with Katoomba, that was thwarted at almost every turn. Never officially opened is unmanaged and now in complete disrepair. Only accessible to experienced navigators and route finders, hopefully this video will show others, just a little bit of the wonder that lies below the tourist tracks and cliff lines above.

National Pass - Blue Mountains
Built into the side of the cliff, the National Pass is a spectacular walking track offering unrivalled views of the many natural wonders of the World Heritage-listed Blue Mountains National Park.
Listen to the cascading water at Wentworth Falls, before tackling the historic Grand Stairway, built by hand in the early 1900’s.
Walk through the Valley of the Waters where you will pass some very impressive waterfalls, including Empress, Silvia and Lodore Falls.
The walk ends with a long steep climb from the magnificent Empress Falls back up to Conservation Hut.

Blue Mountains Walks: The National Pass, Wentworth Falls NSW Australia

One of the finest walks in the Blue Mountains, you first descend into the Valley of the Waters (with a series of waterfalls and cascades) before following a ledge half way down the sandstone cliffs to the bottom of the first drop of Wentworth Falls
The next delight is the Grand Stairway, a series of rock cut steps and ladders which takes you to the top of the falls. Things get a bit easier then, as you make your way back to where you left your car about 3 hours earlier.

Gone Bush 3-Day Hike: Explorers Tree to Scenic World, Blue Mountains NP, Sydney, Australia
This is a 3-day hike I walked recently that takes you from the Explorers Tree outside Katoomba, along the Six Foot Track to Coxs River Campsite, then on to Dunphys Campsite, then finally up and out onto Narrow Neck fire trail via Carlon Head.
The trip was completed over 3 days, and I saw lots of wildlife including an Eastern tiger snake, birds of prey and a lyrebird.
I also had to be picked up by Katoomba Police as I almost slipped off the cliff face climbing up Carlon Pass, and I had to drop my rucksack. Luckily everything was OK and I went back to find my back the next day.

Another video for the Our Travels playlist, we actually just brought a car the new Subaru XV because renting a car every weekend isn’t too fun or cheap!
My brother delivered the car from Albury to Bathurst and then we drove onto the Blue Mountains, this is actually only my second time visiting the Blue Mountains and there is so much more to explore. We were planning on doing the National Pass trek but unfortunately the track is closed currently so we settled for a shorter track but it still managed to produce some excellent views.
We started at the Conservation Hut at Wentworth Falls and used the Nature Track which took us about 2 hours 30 including playing with the drone and water breaks, The track was fairly muddy in places despite no rain the past few days, so would advice hiking boots or old trainers, it was a lovely track with not too much foot traffic. Once we completed the track we then set off on some sight seeing for cliff views and were not disappointed!

Fun fact : The Blue Mountains get it’s blue colour due to the amount of Eucalyptus trees which release tiny oil droplets into the air which when combined with the usual atmosphere scatter short wave length rays of light which gives it the blue mountains it’s unique blue hue!

If you're heading to the Blue Mountains, Wentworth Falls track rewards bushwalkers with grand valley views from Fletchers lookout before reaching the top of popular Wentworth Falls waterfall.
Charles Darwin Walk | Blue Mountains Australia
In this episode, I visit Blue Mountains National Park and walk in the footsteps of Charles Darwin - the famous English naturalist, geologist, and biologist. Darwin visited the Blue Mountains briefly in 1836 towards the end of his famous five year voyage aboard the HMS Beagle. He walked along the Jamison Creek to the top of some sandstone cliffs that provided a stunning view of the Jamison Valley and described the scene as an “immense gulf.”
I continue farther to another famous track known as the National Pass; which was originally built in 1906 using picks, shovels, crowbars, and dynamite. It seemed I walked up/down 10,000 stairs that day - my knees were aching, but I would definitely do it again in a heartbeat.
