In the third episode of Circling Iceland we are heading south to the big glaciers - starting with the Jökulsarlon Glacier Lagoon and an ice cave tour with our friends from localguide, before hiking to another waterfall: the Svartifoss.
This time we use Vik as our base to explore the Southern Region of Iceland with it’s hot springs at Seljavallalaug, the „Bieber“ canyon Fjadrargljufur and the waterfall shooting stars „Sejlalandsfoss“ and „Skogafoss“.
Even though we finished the Ring Road this won’t be the last episode - in the upcoming episode we’ll show you around in Reykjavik and take on the Golden Circle!
Traveling Icelands Ring Road is the perfect way to get to know the country on and off the tourist paths. Therefore we took about 2 weeks to get to know Iceland properly by exploring waterfalls, canyons, hot springs, glacier caves, black beaches and of course the stunning coastlines all around the island finishing off in Reykjavik with the countries biggest music festival called „Iceland Airwaves“
We’ll show you which places to visit & our favorite things to do in Iceland in the upcoming videos and how to plan & organize your very own road trip in Iceland. Make sure to subscribe & activate notification to not miss any episode!

Trip on Iceland: N1-Tour around the Island, best Video of Iceland!
Game of Thrones: From July 9th until July 20th, we went for a trip to your beautiful country taking the ferry from denmark. Luckily we were equiped with a Land Cruiser (which has been iceland-optimized in Reykjavik back in the 90th), my good friend Pete Ruppert - he is a famous fashion photographer here in germany and gained off-road experience with his Cruiser in Australia, the Sahara, Israel and Jordania etc. - had the idea to revisit iceland (for him the 8th time - my first visit) taking his son Paul (13) and my daughter Eva (12). We toured the central highlands, went to Askja and the northern parts of Vatnajökull, experienced some transmission probs which made us follow the main circular road (to stay near possible tech support), to Reykjavik, the blue lagoon, Thingvellir, Vik, Höfn and back to the ferry. Kids and us where overwhelmed by the impressions of a landscape which literally changes behind every corner. The weather wasn't always nice but even rainy days produce a special charakter. All in all a perfect trip - the Kids signed up for 'not taking' electronical devices - and they did not regret.!

Dyrholaey & Reynisfjara, Iceland in 4K (Ultra HD)
Dyrhólaey Cape and Reynisfjara Black Sand Beach are one of the top Iceland scenic destinations. They are located in Southern Iceland near the village of Vik.
Dyrhólaey is 120 m/390 ft high promontory and natural reserve with many birds nesting on its cliffs. Its name means door-hole, coming from the huge stone arch at the end of the cape. The beautiful black sand beach by Dyrholaey is called Kirkjufjara and is closed to tourists.
Reynisfjara Black Sand Beach provides scenic views of Dyrhólaey, and to the nearby impressive basalt sea stacks Reynisdrangar. The Halsanefshellir basalt columns cave is right on the beach.

In the 4th episode of Circling Iceland we use Reykjavik as our home base and took on the challenge to do as much as possible in 48h - so we start very early each day to make the most our of it. Our goal is to show you the best things to do in Reykjavik one day and the best sights along the golden circle the other day.
By using the daylight to the max (only doable from late spring - early autumn!) and part of the night we were able to squeeze in even some extra activities in the Highlands, a festival and some Hot Springs. Please be aware that we planned this itinerary way ahead with the help of locals: we had a tough, very strict schedule in order to make it happen in 48h- if you want to do the same we recommend to take 2 more days to be able to enjoy it!!
Come with us as we explore the center of Reykjavik with its many sights, the nightlife, the blue lagoon and the best sights along the golden circle!
Even though we finished our trip this won’t be the last episode - in the upcoming episode we talk about everything you need to know about traveling Iceland yourself!

Aubrey was a Speech-Language Pathologist, Donnie was graphic designer, but we both had a dream to travel the world and experience cultures. After three years of being married and dreaming about if something like this great adventure would be possible, we decided to quit the rat race and take on the world. We sold everything we had, quit our jobs, and took off! We don't know how long we will get to do this, and we do have a goal of getting jobs in the UK eventually, but we are going to live it to the fullest while we can!
Iceland's Golden Circle: Travel Vlog with John
If you’ve been dreaming of visiting Iceland, the country’s south coast is pretty much everything you’ve been imagining! From ancient tunnels, to black sand beaches, to majestic glaciers, join us on this five-day tour of one of the most stunning parts of an already-breathtaking country with Arctic Adventures!
Day one of this incredible tour takes you back to a time of Arctic explorers, shipwrecks, and ancient volcanoes; you’ll be exploring the Snaefellsnes Peninsula. Wander along pebble beaches, take in the sight of the remains of a shipwreck, and explore lava caves formed over 8000 years ago.
Of course, wild sea adventure isn’t all that Iceland has to offer - there’s also the incredible natural power behind the country! Travel further west and visit the most powerful hot spring in Europe, which heats all of the neighbouring towns. Did you know that taking advantage of Iceland’s hot springs isn’t a modern idea? Visit a preserved Medieval bath and let yourself walk through viking history.
No trip to Iceland would ever be complete without touring the Golden Circle! Visit Thingvellir National Park, the place in which the European and North American tectonic plates converge - and you can see it for yourself. The UNESCO-listed park also marks the place of the world’s oldest parliament; here, Icelanders formed a government in the year 930!
One of the best parts of Iceland is the fact that every new site - every waterfall, glacier, geysir, or hot spring - is unique. No matter where you go and how long you spend in this country, you’ll continue to be amazed!
Are you ready to be amazed? If you can’t resist seeing this stunning country for yourself anymore, it may be time to start planning a visit of your own. Head over to TourRadar to check out this itinerary and many others, and start packing today!

This is where Dir Holley is drawing pretty pictures of black sand and white waves. At the end of the Dirhallay, there is Rainni Speara, a unique white stucco that is one of the best in Iceland. It seems as if someone has carved a stone into a square shape and piled it up. Everyone who visits here has one thing to do. Sitting in a variety of poses right on the stone, and taking pictures. It's a dream for photographers. I have a lot of opportunities to take pictures. I only used two batteries today. The second camera, too. On the cliff, you can also see a small cave built by a rugged terrain. In this cave you can see the lower section of the stone pillar. It seems to me to see the great work that the Creator made for a long time. Today is one of the many days that have created the work.
[Iceland: Google Translator]
The second myndavél líka.

Iceland Road Trip PART 1 - Reykjadalur | Gullfoss | Geysir | Seljavellir | Kerid
Have you ever been to a Iceland Road Trip? If you do a road trip in Iceland make sure you visit Reykjadalur, Gullfoss, Geysir, Seljavellir and Kerid.
After arriving in Reykjavik we picked up a 4x4 and our road trip in Iceland started. There are many things to do in Iceland in winter, actually it was not full winter so there were many things to do.
Iceland in September can be very cold, there were a few days that were very cold and windy specially at night but nothing that a good jacket doesn't solve.
We choose to go to Iceland in September because in summer there are too many tourists and Iceland in September is just perfect.
So if you are wondering what to do in Iceland in winter here is what we did on our first two days:
On the first day we arrived in Iceland around 9 in the morning, getting the car and sort out some stuff it was already 12 in the afternoon, but we still had half of the day.
The first spot we visited was Reykjadalur hot spring, this hot spring is for the the best of the whole trip because it was the warmets hot spring of all, remeber to put Reykjadalur hot spring thermal river in your list.
Then we visited a crater called Kerið or Kerid, it was close by so we stopped by quickly.
Third stop of the day was Geysir, a very famous geyser and its where the english word GEYSER comes from, it shoots water and steam to the sky every 15 to 20 minutes.
We saw the aurora borealis at night, something amazing to experience and there we were ready for our second day which started in a place called Gullfoss.
Gullfoss is a massive waterfall drive to the east of the island close by to our previous spots. Gullfoss waterfall Iceland is what you should write on your must list because if you get lucky to have a sunny day around Gullfoss waterfall you will see a double rainbow.
From there we drove to Seljavellir, a hidden hot pool that not many people know about it. I must tell you that Seljavellir hot pool is not that hot comparing to our previous one but it is worth a visit.
Then we drove to the most famous waterfall in Iceland, but that will come up on the next video...

Iceland - Reynisfjara Black Sand Beach
Head to the black sand beach of Reynisfjara in Iceland for stunning, postcard perfect landscapes.
Reynisfjara Beach is located just a few minutes outside (Vík í Mýrdal), halfway between Reykjavik and Höfn. The beach is known for its black sand and fascinating basalt columns, and it is one of the most heavily photographed and documented sites in Iceland. Rumor has it that the stacks formed when trolls were petrified and turned into Reynisdrangar stacks after being caught by surprise by the morning light.
