【4K】Walking in Takasaki, Gunma prefecture
Not a vlog, no intrusive faces or talking, pure Japan only.
After Karuizawa I decided to stop in Takasaki. It's where shinkansen line splits to Joetsu Shinkansen and Nagano Shinkansen lines. I walked from the station to Takasaki castle remains. Nice parks but not much remained from the castle. One of such parks has birds cages. And found one cat. I also went down to the river with good sunset view.

【4K】Walking to Sendai castle(!?!?) and Sendai station
Not a vlog, no intrusive faces or talking, pure Japan only.
After the ferry to cats island was cancelled, I went to Sendai. I hoped to visit the Sendai castle. Well, it was marked as Sendai castle on the map and road signs also were telling about Sendai castle. But...
After that I went to Sendai station. On the way to the... castle I heard some music, I found the source, that was Yosakoi festival in West park, but I got there too late. I also found nice market street which brought me directly to the station.

Japan Walk - Kasugayama castle (春日山城) - 4K
In this video we’ll show you Kasugayama castle (春日山城).
Kasugayama Castle Ruins are known as the site of the former castle of one of the most famous warriors of the Warring States period, Uesugi Kenshin.
It has been designated as a national historic site and is also counted as one of Japan's 100 famous castles.
Dates of construction for the castle are unclear, though it appears to have already existed during the Nanbokucho Era, some 600 years ago. However, the remains of the vast castle as seen today came later, and is thought to be due to the work of Uesugi Kenshin, Kagekatsu, and the Hori clan.
The kanji character for castle is written with two elements, earth, and becoming. As such, Kasugayama Castle is truly an earthen castle. By skillfully using the complex topography of the land, the strong citadel was well known throughout Japan for being inpregnable.
Even now, features such as the Karabori (empty moat carved by digging ridges in the soil), Dorui (embankments built up around the castle) and a Oido (great well) remain to be seen.
Another major feature is the Sougamae, a Japanese castle structure which surrounds the outer base for protection. At the foot of the mountain where the residences and empty moats were built, it extends some 1.2 kilometers around the castle.
From the inner citade (Honmaru) at 180 meters, visitors can enjoy a view of the Sea of Japan and the Kubikino Plains, as well as the surrounding mountain ranges.
There is also a bronze statue of Uesugi Kenshin, which was produced during the broadcasting of the NHK period drama Ten to Chi to (Heaven and Earth) in 1969.
* The position of the bronze statue is shown on the map.

Fujisan Hongu Sengen Taisha - Shizuoka - 富士山本宮浅間大社 - 4K Ultra HD
Located in the southwestern foothills of Mount Fuji in the city Fujinomiya, Fujisan Sengen Shrine a regionally important shrine and head shrine of over 1300 Sengen and Asama shrines across Japan. Originally built over a millennium ago for the protection against a volcanic eruption, the Fujisan Sengen Shrine is also one of the traditional starting points to climb Mt. Fuji. While being one of Japan's oldest shrines, the Fujisan Sengen Shrine has suffered from many natural disasters and all that remains intact today is its unique two-story inner shrine construction as well as its outer shrine buildings and tower gate.
Alongside its heavy cultural and spiritual heritage the Fujisan Sengen Shrine also offers a beautiful sakura festival thanks to its 500 cherry trees usually blooming around late March to early April.

【4K】Walking at cats island - Tashirojima
Not a vlog, no intrusive faces or talking, pure Japan only.
After Fox village I went to Ishinomaki because ferry to cats island goes from there. So next morning I went to pier and filmed a video on the way. At the pier I found that ferry is cancelled for whole day because of strong wind. So I went to Sendai and filmed a walk there and after that went back to Ishinomaki city for the next try next day.
Fortunately next day was OK so at about 10am I was on the island.
The island has two piers and I decided to walk from one to another. I also tried to use my new drone for more (i hope) immersive walk beginning and ending.
At the first pier first 20 minutes there was no any cats at all, but at cats shrine I found few and even more at tourist centre. Manga island has probably most of cats. So if cats is the main goal you should go directly to the second pier.

【4K】Choshi walk and train ride to lighthouse
Not a vlog, no intrusive faces or talking, pure Japan only.
Choshi is westernmost city of Chiba peninsula. While other Chiba prefecture except Chiba city looks like some countryside this one looks like some resort.
I started too late because of late lunch in Around the Corner and got late for the train I planned to take so I had to wait for another one. Then I rode to Inubo station and walked to Inubosaki lighthouse. I did not expect but I could get inside, specially for that day it stayed opened longer.

New York City artist, adventurer and sailor Reid Stowe, on his 70-ft. gaff-rigged schooner Anne, is about to conclude his epic 1000+ Days non-stop and non-resupplied sea voyage. Stowe will return to New York Harbor, where he started, on Thursday, June 17, 2010, after logging 1,152 days at sea.
Stowe will be accompanied by a flotilla of boats up the Hudson River to Pier 81 (Circle Line/World Yacht pier) where he will disembark at 1 p.m. and step foot on land for the first time in over three years. He will reunite with his companion, Soanya Ahmad, who sailed with Stowe for the first 306 days of the voyage, but had to leave due to morning sickness. Ahmad now holds the women's record for the longest non-stop sea voyage. Stowe will also meet, for the first time, his son Darshen, who was conceived at sea and is now almost two years old.
Stowe left port April 21, 2007, accompanied by his companion Ahmad. Together they sailed from the Hudson towards the Atlantic on a ship laden with three years worth of food, beans for sprouting, solar panels for energy, large tarps to catch rainwater, a laptop, an Iridium satellite telephone, and a JouBeh satellite tracking unit that would verify the path of the 1000 days voyage (see Google map at 1000days.net). Stowe survived a collision with a freighter on day 15, endured tough repairs with limited supplies, through the loss of his companion and only crewmember when she had to leave the boat due to nausea, and through the solitary days that followed. Still, Stowe managed to create two large scale conceptual art drawings with the course that he sailed, the shape of a whale in the Pacific and a heart in the Atlantic.
Why 1000 Days?
One thousand days is the time estimated for a future mission to Mars, which will have similar attributes of isolation and vessel self-reliance -- hence the project's name, Mars Ocean Odyssey. Stowe's primary motivation is to take exploration on the sea further than anyone has before. Linked to thousands of followers on the Web, on day 638 he writes, ...it takes more to live at sea than a good boat and all the preparations, skills and psychology than you can imagine. It takes the continued support of the loving consciousness of humankind. Despite numerous mental, physical, and emotional hardships that would have caused another person to head for the safety of the shore, Stowe remains optimistic, finding strength in a deep spiritual connection to the sea.
Visit the official website at 1000days.net to read daily blogs from the Anne, see her current location, hear audio clips, and much more.

Nagano (長野市 Nagano-shi?), the capital city of Nagano Prefecture, is located in the northern part of the prefecture near the confluence of the Chikuma and the Sai rivers, on the main Japanese island of Honshū.
As of April 1, 2011, the city has an estimated population of 387,146 and a population density of 460 persons per km². The total area is 834.85 km².Nagano is most famous for Zenkō-ji, a 7th-century Buddhist temple that overlooks the city. A million tourists visit Nagano annually. Nagano was originally a town in Kamiminochi District built around the hilltop temple that is the largest wooden building in eastern Japan, but the city now encompasses locations that were within Sarashina, Hanishina, and Kamitakai districts. The city is located within Minuchi (水内郡), Takai (高井), Sarashina (更級郡), and Hanishina (埴科郡) Districts in the ancient Shinano Province. Zenkō-ji relocated from the current city of Iida (642). Afterwards, the town of Monzen became one of the motel towns of Hokkoku Kaidō.[clarification needed] The Battles of Kawanakajima were fought there including the fight between Takeda Shingen (武田信玄) and Uesugi Kenshin (上杉謙信). In 1742 (Inu-no-Mansui (戌の満水 or 千曲川大洪水), the water level reached 6.4 metres (21 ft)) at Akanuma (near the border with the former town of Toyono.) Due to Zenko-ji earthquake (May 8, 1847), nearly 10,000 people died. Nagano gained city status in 1897. The Matsushiro Underground Imperial Headquarters (松代大本営) was started in 1944, but was cancelled in 1945 due to the end of war. The city hosted the biggest mergers of the Showa Era I in 1954. In 1959, due to the flooding of Chikuma River, 71 people died or were missing and 20,000 homes were flooded. The biggest mergers of the Showa Era II occurred there in 1966. The Matsushiro Earthquake (松代群発地震) was here. Due to landslides (地附山地すべり災害) in 1985, 27 people died and 60 homes were destroyed or badly damaged. The city hosted the 1998 Winter Olympics and the Paralympics. In 1999, Nagano became a core city. Due to the mergers in the Heisei Era, the city absorbed the municipalities of Toyono, and the village of Togakushi, and Kinasa (from Kamiminochi District), and the village of Ōoka (from Sarashina District). Nagano hosted the 2005 Special Olympics World Winter Games. On April 1, 1897 the city was founded. It became the first city founded in Nagano Prefecture and the 43rd city in Japan). On October 16, 1966, the current and the second city of Nagano was founded by merging with 8 municipalities, including the original city. On January 1, 2005 the city absorbed municipalities from Kamiminochi District (Toyono, Togakushi, and Kinasa) and Sarashina District (Ooka). On January 1, 2010 Nagano absorbed the town of Shinshūshinmachi and the village of Nakajō from Kamiminochi District.[3]The historic site of the Battles of Kawanakajima was converted into parkland, with a municipal museum of the history of the Zenkoji plain.
Matsushiro, the former castle town of the Sanada clan, is located in the southern part of the city. The town retains an historic atmosphere, preserving many samurai residences, temples, and gardens of the feudal period, including the remains of the castle and mansion of feudal Lord Sanada Jumangoku.
Sporting venues built for the Winter Olympics include the M-Wave speed-skating arena (with the world's largest wooden suspension roof), Big Hat arena, and the Aqua Wing Arena.
North of the city is the village of Iizuna. A popular destination in both summer and winter, it includes a ski resort, campsite, onsen, 10 ponds and a mountain slide ride.
Northeast of the city is Japan's largest ski resort, Shiga Kogen,[6] with the nearby Jigokudani Monkey Park,[7] famous for the wild Japanese macaque often found bathing in its hot springs.
South of the downtown core, in Shinano, Mt. Chausu hosts the Nagano Chausuyama Zoo, an outdoor dinosaur park, botanical garden
The city's main railway hub, Nagano Station, and the smaller Shinonoi Station, were expanded for the Olympics. The Nagano Shinkansen opened in 1997, connecting Nagano to Takasaki, Gunma. Nagano Station also serves the Shinano Railway Line, Shin'etsu Main Line, and Iiyama Line. The JR Chūō Main Line connects Nagano to the major city of Nagoya in Aichi Prefecture.
The Nagano Electric Railway also runs the Nagano Line to major sites around the city and its suburbs.
The city is connected by rail south to Matsumoto via the Shinonoi Line, which terminates at Shinonoi Station.
