Tanah Lot Temple Bali, A Simple Travels Review
Tanah Lot means Land Sea in the Balinese language. Located in Tabanan, about 20 kilometres (12 mi) from Denpasar, the temple sits on a large offshore rock which has been shaped continuously over the years by the ocean tide.
Tanah Lot is claimed to be the work of the 16th-century Dang Hyang Nirartha. During his travels along the south coast he saw the rock-island's beautiful setting and rested there. Some fishermen saw him, and bought him gifts. Nirartha then spent the night on the little island. Later he spoke to the fishermen and told them to build a shrine on the rock, for he felt it to be a holy place to worship the Balinese sea gods.
The Tanah Lot temple was built and has been a part of Balinese mythology for centuries. The temple is one of seven sea temples around the Balinese coast. Each of the sea temples was established within eyesight of the next to form a chain along the south-western coast. In addition to Balinese mythology, the temple was significantly influenced by Hinduism.
At the base of the rocky island, venomous sea snakes are believed to guard the temple from evil spirits and intruders. The temple is purportedly protected by a giant snake, which was created from Nirartha's selendang (a type of sash) when he established the island.
Fastboat From Bali To Lombok // Including Our Lombok Villa Tour
Traveling by fastboat from Bali to Lombok is a great way to arrive at the island of Lombok, Indonesia. We left Ubud, Bali and had a great experience taking a 1 1/2 hour fastboat to our next destination. It was a bit wavy so Jill and the kids took some motion sickness medicine and that did the trick. Once we arrive in Lombok, we had already pre-arranged a driver to pick us up and he was on the docks ready to help with our luggage.
The 30 minute drive to Senggigi was eye-opening and beautiful. Once we arrived at our Lombok Villa we were excited to give you a Villa Tour of where our traveling family will be staying for the next month. Lombok, Indonesia brought us a welcoming calm with wider roads, less traffic, cleaner air, and slower pace of life compared to Bali. We felt like it was the perfect place for us to settle in for a bit.

Last Day in Bali
- Last Day in Bali -
Published 11/04/2016
After having a wonderful time in Ubud. I headed south to a city called Kuta.
I ended up taking a small shuttle van with four additional people. We stopped at a city called Sanur and I had to switch vans. I ended up waiting about 20 minutes until the other shuttle showed up. It wasn't so bad, it was just really hot and I wanted to get to Kuta as soon as possible.
I hadn't booked a hotel yet because I like to get to see the hotel before I book it. Especially because there are a lot of shit holes out there and I do not want to pay money for a shit hole if I can help it.
The driver dropped me off at a shopping mall. From there I walked up to the area where the Discovery Mall is located. Luckily that area really caters to tourist. Almost every hotel and restaurant has wifi so it makes it very easy to figure out your next move.
I found a hotel called Home 36 which is connected to the mall. I was happy with the amenities and I liked that it was in a safe/secure area. I booked it and only stayed one night but I would definitely recommend staying there. It was very clean, which is nice because some of the places I stayed in Thailand weren't all that well kept.
Unfortunately, the weather on that day wasn't all that great. I headed down to the beach but it was very overcast. It looked like a storm was gonna come in but it barely rained. It did end up killing my plan to go to the water. One thing is for sure, do not go to Kuta if you would like to go surfing. The waves are very small and it's not worth it.
Overall, I really enjoyed my time in Kuta. I was only there for a day but I'm definitely coming back. Bali has so many different things to see and to experience. I cannot wait to come back!!!

WATCH IN HD
Hey guys I made another vlog on a separate holiday that I went on with a couple of friends from high school. This is from a different holiday to my last upload!
Eight of my friends and myself set off to Bali, Kuta to celebrate the end of High School for Schoolies. We stayed at the Bounty Hotel for about seven days and the time we were there we went to pool parties, pub crawls and plenty of day trips to site see outside of Kuta.
I really enjoy making these short little videos of holidays and I hope you guys enjoy watching it. I'm hoping to start filming beauty videos and plenty more vlogs.
