The US-Canada Border Splits This Road Down The Middle
Rue Canusa (or Canusa Avenue) is a street that's split in two by a border: the northern part is in Stanstead, Canada, and the southern part is in Derby Line, USA — and border crossings here aren't as easy as they used to be.

1950s STORY OF THE U.S. MAIL USPS PROMOTIONAL FILM LETTER SORTING & DELIVERY 64334
This 1950s color film is an educational public service announcement by the U.S. Postal Service. The film was produced by Lewis & Martin Films Inc. The focus of this film is to educate viewers on postal automation technology. The film begins with a vintage post office seal, followed by Arthur Summerfield, the Postmaster General from 1953-1961 under President Eisenhower, who speaks briefly about the mail service (0:42-1:30). Mail is dropped in and picked up from different mailboxes, including in a dual Local and Out of Town mailbox (1:31-1:58). Workers sort mail and boxes (1:59-2:17). New home construction is briefly showcased, including model homes (2:18-2:38). An aerial view shows a large factory and work trucks (2:39-2:54). Vintage illustrations show the U.S. map, as well as an overstuffed post office bursting at the seams and sending mail flying (2:55-3:30). A woman walks into a vintage “Victorian elegant” post office lobby (4:02-4:17). Men push carts and toss packages in a postal processing facility, letters are sorted into city boxes by hand, and packages from a mountain of boxes are tossed into hampers (4:18-5:00). The Transorma Letter Sorting Machine, the first implementation of a semiautomatic mail sorter, is operated by five clerks. Mail is shown being sorted by hand for contrast (5:01-5:43). An automated conveyor belt system is demonstrated, moving mail to different area (5:45-6:38). Boxes are moved down a conveyor belt where a keyboard operator punches in the address area for automatic sorting (6:39-7:14). A postman walks his route and delivers mail. 1950s post office trucks drop off packages (7:15-8:13). A carrier uses an experimental, three-wheeled post office truck (8:14-8:30). A postman pushes a postal cart down the sidewalk, delivering mail (8:31-8:40). The first version of a modern post office layout is shown, including the 24x7 lobby (8:41-9:13). Innovations such as early automated stamp machine, the post office lockbox, and the presence of ballpoint pens are briefly showcased (9:14-9:35). A woman prepares business mail and bundles mail with pressure-sensitive tape, dropping them into a triple-section mailbox (9:36-10:54). An experimental automatic culling machine, an automatic canceling machine, an electronic scanner that reads typed and printed addresses, and a code control machine are demonstrated. Researchers experiment with different mail automation ideas (10:55-13:10). Postmaster General Arthur Summerfield speaks to the camera to conclude the film (13:11-14:33).

Steam Train Over the Rocky Mountians-SP 4449 @ Marias Pass
Southern Pacific 4449 Glides thru Glacier National Park to events back east in July 2009. It is the only surviving example of Southern Pacific Railroad's (SP) GS-4 class of steam locomotives. The GS-4 is a streamlined 4-8-4 (Northern) type GS stands for Golden State (a nickname for California or General Service. The locomotive was built by Lima Locomotive Works in Lima, Ohio, for SP in May 1941; it received the Red and Orange Daylight paint scheme for the passenger trains of the same name which it hauled for most of its service career. 4449 was retired from revenue service in 1957 and put on static display in Oaks Park, Portland, Oregon, the following year, where it remained until 1974. It was restored to operation for use in the second American Freedom Train, which toured the 48 contiguous United States for the American Bicentennial celebrations. Since then, 4449 has been operated in excursion service throughout the continental US; based at the Brooklyn roundhouse in Portland where it is maintained by a group of dedicated volunteers called Friends of SP 4449. Placed into service on May 30, 1941, assigned to the Coast Daylight, SP's premier passenger train between San Francisco and Los Angeles, 4449 was semi-retired from service on September 24, 1956, then donated to the city of Portland, Oregon, on April 24, 1958 where it was placed on outdoor public display in Oaks Park.. It was evaluated for restoration in 1974 after becoming a candidate to pull the American Freedom Train. Its size, power, and graceful lines made it a perfect fit for the Bicentennial train. returned to operation April 21, 1975, wearing a special paint scheme of red, white, and blue. As part of the American Freedom Train, the engine pulled a display train around the most of the United States. In 1981, 4449 was returned to its original Daylight colors for the first Railfair in Sacramento, California. In 1984, 4449 pulled an all Daylight-painted train from Portland to New Orleans, Louisiana, to publicize the World's Fair, making it the longest steam train excursion in US history. In 1986, 4449 went to Hollywood to appear in Tough Guys, 4449 had another famous moment in 1989 when 4449 and Union Pacific 844 made a side-by-side entrance into the Los Angeles Union Passenger Terminal in 1989 for the station's 50th anniversary celebrations. It returned to Railfair in Sacramento in 1991 and again in 1999. In 2000, 4449 was repainted black and silver for a Burlington Northern Santa Fe employee appreciation special, then was repainted into the American Freedom Train colors again in early 2002 after the events of the September 11th terrorist attacks. 4449 has since been returned to Daylight colors again, this time in its as delivered appearance, May 19, 2007, the 4449 made another rare appearance with the Union Pacific 844 in the Pacific Northwest for the Puget Sound Excursion, This excursion was a tandem run with both steam locomotives pulling a Union Pacific passenger train consisting of three to four dome cars and several coaches.4449 will attend Trainfestival2009 in Owosso, Michigan from . The historic 2500 mile move from Portland to Owosso is being arranged by the Friends of the 4449, Amtrak, Steam Railroading Institute of Owosso, and Friends of the 261. The Milwaukee Road 261 organization will be lending some of their first class passenger cars including a dome car and observation Skytop car for the 4449 and for the other excursion trains at the festival. This trip would mark the first time the 4449 has visited the state of Michigan since pulling the American Freedom Train in 1976. The train will leave Portland on July 3rd and return to Portland on October 20. You can watch it run to Owosso, Michigan, & back by going to sp4449.com, and clicking, Marias Pass (el. 5213 ft./1588 m.) is a high mountain pass near Glacier National Park in northwestern Montana in the United States.

How to Pass Your Driving Road Test | Driving Lessons
Watch more How to Drive videos:
So what I want to do today is give you a good understanding of what to expect on a driver's road test, and give you some tips on how to pass the test.
And the test is basically a series of turns, some rights, and some lefts, and then two maneuvers, a broken U-turn, and parallel parking.
So for the right turn, where we'll start, the basic idea for the right turn is that you're going to have your car over to the right side of the lane that you're on and you're going to make sure you make the turn into the right lane of the street that you're going onto. Pretty much no guesswork in a right turn. It's always the same, from right to right at all times. Right lane to right lane.
The left turn is a lot trickier. And the left turn is the one that may get you on that road test. And the reason for the left turn being trickier is because you've got some decisions to make on the left. Do I make the turn into this lane or that lane? That will be determined whether or not that's a one-way or a two-way street. So you're ability to recognize that will be crucial on your road test.
What are some of the ways you can tell? A one-way street typically will have a sign on either corner. If you see a sign it's usually a one-way. It'll have an arrow on it. Therefore, the rule of thumb on the turns being closest to the available lane, if you see the one-way sign, the turn has to go into the left lane. If the street doesn't have a sign and it has a line down the middle, you can tell by the color of the line whether or not it's a one-way or a two-way. A white line would indicate one-way street. Again, you'll make your turn onto the left side. A yellow line indicates a two-way street, which means that you've got to make the turn out to the right side of the street.
The most difficult one will be the street that doesn't have the line on it. The way you can tell on a street like that, look for the direction of the parked cars. If they're parked in opposite directions, that's going to indicate a two-way street. Remember your rule of thumb, you choose the closest available lane, and you're going to swing out to the right. This is the turn that typically tricks people the most on the road test.
Your two maneuvers are a parking, and a broken U-turn. Broken U-turn real simple, you just pull over against the curb on the right, put your indicator on. The whole idea is to take your car from the right side here, bring it across to the other side, then you're going to back up, and then you're going to go back the same way you came on that roadway.
My tip for this is when you're doing the backing part, you don't want to back up all the way to the other curb, because usually when you do that you come out on the wrong side of the street.
The other maneuver is the parallel parking. Don't worry so much about it. You get a big space to park, and as long as you look back and go back slowly, it shouldn't be a problem for you.
And that's it. That's your road test. Usually six turns, three rights, three lefts, a park, a broken U-turn, and it's over in about 10 minutes.
Good Luck.

Trump Impeachment Trial: Q&A begins (Day 8)
With opening arguments wrapped up in President Donald Trump’s impeachment trial, the next phase begins. For the next two days, senators get to ask questions of both legal teams. During that time, people will be looking for signs of whether enough Republicans will cross the aisle and agree to bring in witnesses -- particularly former national security adviser John Bolton.
