One new brewery garnering a lot of attention for their use of Brettanomyces and barrel-fermentation is Side Project Brewing. Today we've the got the pleasure of trying two of their saisons, Du Ble and Fermier.

Cellar Sessions: Ezi - anxious. January 16th, 2018 City Winery New York
EZI sits down for a One On One Session at City Winery New York on January 16th, 2018. Watch the full session here: For more info visit: Audio & Video by: Ehud Lazin audio mixing by: Joe Ulmer.
Setlist:
Redemption
Afraid Of The Dark
anxious.
“Damn, I haven’t washed my hair for days,” begins pop songstress EZI on “REDEMPTION,” the first single from her forthcoming debut EP, “Another day I’m feeling lost.” Over a pulsing, synthdriven
beat, the 21-year-old wastes no time getting real with her listeners: “Guess I’m an emotional wreck now,” she sings before the chorus, “Feel another letdown / Sometimes I wish I could escape / I guess it’s just what I got,” she finishes, as an infectious, danceable beat drops. Off to the races. If any song were an ideal introduction to the real EZI “REDEMPTION” would be it. The Long Island, New York native—and the first signee to Steve Madden’s label, 5Towns Records—wrote the song in August 2016, during one of the lowest points in her life. “I’ve always struggled with depression,” EZI says. “I’m a very emotional person. [When I wrote “REDEMPTION”], I was living alone in Hollywood, my schedule was all over the place, I was
going through some stuff personally … but more than that, I don’t even know what triggered it—I was honestly so lost, so detached, so removed from myself. Most people actually think [the song] is about a relationship [with another person], but it’s actually about the relationship I have with myself. You wake up loving yourself, you wake up hating yourself, [or] being upset or disappointed. The whole EP, really, is about me; the most complicated relationship I’ve ever been in is the one I have with myself.”
As EZI says, at the core of her five-song EP (comprised of the dark dance-pop tracks “REDEMPTION,” “Sober with You,” “Anxious,” Dancing in a Room,” and “Afraid of the Dark”) is the singer’s relationship with herself—a relationship she’s cultivated over the years she spent traveling to-and-from auditions in New York City, or studying her various crafts. A firstgeneration American, EZI’s parents both immigrated to the United States from Moscow, Russia; the family ultimately settled in the Great Neck neighborhood of Long Island. Growing up, EZI’s parents both worked full-time—her father as a violin teacher and her mother as a nurse—so she spent much of her time solo. “When kids were outside in the summertime doing kid stuff,” she says, “I’d be looking up what an acting resume looked like. Or I was making Hannah Montana covers on [Apple’s] Garageband, cutting [tracks] up and editing them, sneaking into my sister’s room using her computer.” However, though EZI always loved writing and singing, her drive to
pursue music seriously solidified at age 16, after her first experience collaborating with a producer in New York: “[I discovered], I can’t wait around for someone to show me [how do to do this],” she says of that time. “I realized need to do this for myself. “
Now at age 22, EZI’s debut EP isn’t just vibey and vulnerable; it conveys the major lesson taking center stage in her life right now. “Honestly, I think ‘REDEMPTION’ was the first time I
admitted to myself, like, ‘No, I struggle, and I’m going to write about it because it’s the only thing I can think about right now. Now that i’m starting to peel back [the layers] and not [pretend to be
“okay”] as much, I’m always sort of self-conscious—that I’m like, wait, are [people] going to think I’m crazy? Are they going to think I’m difficult to work with? But I constantly remind myself, ‘No.
You’re going to say what you want and you are going to act how you want because you can.’

Cellar Sessions: Mike Zito - Gone To Texas May 14th, 2019 City Winery New York
Mike Zito sits down for a One On One Session at City Winery New York on May 14th, 2019. Watch the full session here: For more info visit: Audio & Video by: Ehud Lazin
Setlist:
Gone To Texas
I Was Drunk
Little Red Corvette (Prince)
There may not be a more honest bluesman than Mike Zito, whose 15th album ‘First Class Life’ comes out May 11 on Ruf Records. The rocking yet poignant title track explores his journey from addiction to sobriety and then musical recognition; he is a two-time 2017 Blues Music Award nominee. “Second chance at a first class life,” he sings, recalling the hard times. The Texas-based musician smiles and continues, “I grew up poor in St. Louis, and now I'm travelling the world to sing my songs.”
Zito’s star has been on the rise of late both solo and as a member of the Royal Southern Brotherhood, with bandmates Cyril Neville, Devon Allman, Charlie Wooton and Yonrico Scott.
As is fitting for a man with the word “Blues” tattooed across his picking hand, ‘First Class Life’ focuses squarely on blues with heart and chops to spare, not to mention wit and openness. The punchy “Time For A Change” conjures the tension in the world today while the exquisite Memphis-style song, “The World We Live In,” which recalls BB King in its world-weariness. The electrified blues bounce of “Dying Day” finds Zito swearing lifelong allegiance to his wife. “Old Black Graveyard” sets the scene of a bluesman’s final resting place and its disrepair, along with some possible supernatural influences, with Zito’s masterful slide guitar flourishes driving it home.
Yet the record’s darker moments are offset by cuts like “Mama Don't Like No Wah Wah,” the funky crash-bang-wallop gem written with Ruf labelmate Bernard Allison about the late legend Koko Taylor. “Bernard told me about his first gig as guitarist for Taylor,” laughs Mike. “Koko didn’t like any effects on the guitar, she wanted it to sound natural. When Bernard made an attempt to use an effect on his guitar after playing with her for months, he got caught. ‘Mama don't like no wah wah’ is what he was told. That’s a song to me!” The two guitar slingers trade off, trying to one up each other atop a funky blues groove, including Allison pulling out his forbidden wah wah pedal. The tongue-in-cheek “Back Problems” is a showcase for Zito’s wit as a songwriter.
In addition to the press and Blues Music Award love, Zito has earned from fellow artists. Anders Osborne says, I love Mike Zito! He's got that rare kinda voice that resonates in your soul. All his hardship, life experiences and kind heart oozes out of every note his sings. His guitar playing dances delicately between a contemporary blues virtuoso and an old fashion soul man. Mike continues to impress me with his straightforward and honest songwriting. His joy and grace shine through every record he makes.
EXPO – Magic of the White City (Narrated by Gene Wilder)
Narrated by Gene Wilder, EXPO – Magic of the White City brings the Chicago World’s Fair to life. Experience the world of 1893 through a cinematic visit to Chicago’s Columbian Exposition.
Subscribe for more great documentaries!
Nearly 28 million people visited the Fair. Dubbed the “White City,” it inspired future innovators like Henry Ford and Frank Lloyd Wright, unveiled the Ferris Wheel and Cracker Jack®, and, in many ways, marked the beginning of the 20th century. Many of the era’s greatest achievements in science, technology and culture were unveiled there. The grounds were designed by Frederick Law Olmsted, famous for his design of New York City’s Central Park, and constructed under the supervision of Daniel Burnham.
The Fair was an engineering marvel. On opening day, President Grover Cleveland depressed a golden telegraph key which sent the first courses of electricity throughout the Fair powering fountains, machines, electric railways and thousands of lights. It was the first use of electricity on such a massive scale.
In addition, fairgoers enjoyed the Midway Plaisance where a one-mile boulevard of fun offered camel riding and guilty pleasures such as belly dancing, street fighting and beer drinking. Against the backdrop of 1893’s troubles with workers’ rights, prejudice, discrimination and corruption, the World’s Columbian Exposition cast a brief ray of hope for the future of humanity.
Filmed in spectacular High-Definition, EXPO – Magic of the White City immerses viewers in one of the world’s biggest extravaganzas and one of the most unforgettable events in American history. There will never be another event like it… or will there?

Drain cleaning and unclogging a bathroom sink drain don’t have to be that hard or cost you up to more than $345.00 dollars. Check out this video before you call a drain cleaning, service, company before you spend your hard earn money. It this video I will show you what the service company will give you for your money and how they go about unclogging your bathroom sink drain. And after watching this video you can decide if this a project you can handle yourself. And if this is something you feel you can do yourself, you would save a bunch of money even enough to buy the drain machine and own it for future use and make a little side money. On the average and most cases, the drain cleaning guy will be done with clearing and unclogging your bathroom sink drain as soon as 15 minutes up to 30 minutes. And if it’s going to take longer than that. The guy doesn’t know what he’s doing, or you have a major problem and the line can’t be cleared with a machine but may need costly plumbing work. I would recommend when you call out a drain cleaning, service, company request the send out a guy that’s a license or has been with the company for a long time. You don’t want someone out there guessing and give you a guessing price. Think about it, if you don’t know and you’re not sure. How would you guess the price? If the service person is new or just beginning, it could cost, you more than you could imagine. If the person is dishonest he or she will not let you know they don’t know, but they will take your money. This video will help you make a more educated decision if you call out a drain service company.
1-Ask the company to send out someone that has a license. Why? This license is their livelihood and
Holds them and the company responsible for any issues they may happen due to negligence. These
The company doesn’t always send out a tech with licenses.
2-Send someone that has been with the company for some time or has years of experience. Experience
Is the key. No Guessing
A 3-Most company will not give you a price over the phone, to be honest, that would be hard and you
Would have the price stuck in your head and when the tech gets there it could be a whole different
Situation. And in most cases, you’re not talking to the drain tech, but the dispatcher and they really
Don’t know or how to give you any information as it would pertain to drain cleaning. Believe it or not
People sometimes can give and explain their problem greatly, but the percentage that gives misleading
Information about the drainage problem makes it difficult to give proper information.
4- Ask him or her to see their license. Asking for a license will get their attention.
It says Yes! I am the one you don’t want to rip off. ???? Think before you proceed.
5-Get the price before the job is started in writing.
Make sure the drain tech first and last name is on the Invoice and do the name match the
License there are a lot of Mikes and Jim’s that work for one company.
I hope all this helps in your decision making good luck out there.

Interview with Francis O. Cunningham, WWII veteran. CCSU Veterans History Project.
Interview conducted by Darcey Cunningham. Interview contains stories by both Francis O. Ham Cunningham, and Mary Polly Cunningham. Mr. Cunningham was recruited in 1941, while in his senior year at UCONN, into the Marine Corps Officer Candidate Program. Upon his graduation from the university, he immediately went to Quantico, VA for 9 months of training. He was sent to the Pacific Theatre of operations in September of 1942, where he was stationed on American Samoa for nine months, as part of the 4th Raider Battalion. He was also part of the fighting on Bougainville, in Papua New Guinea, and in the Solomon Islands, before he was transferred back to San Diego, CA to train new marines. During his time spent back in the U.S. he married Mrs. Cunningham, whom he had been writing to while he was overseas. They married on a Monday morning, during Mr. Cunningham's travel leave, and he returned to San Diego on Tuesday. Mrs. Cunningham describes the effect that the war had on the people at home, including rationing, and blackouts. After their wedding, Mrs. Cunningham moved to San Diego, where they lived in a small apartment off base. Mr. Cunningham was then sent back overseas, where he was part of the 3rd Amphibious Corps, and took part in the Battle of Okinawa. The Cunningham's first child was born two days before the war ended. Mr. Cunningham was discharged from the Marine Corps in early 1946, and he and his wife returned to Connecticut.
