Finally, for the big meal Danish food social dining event, we went to Vin de Table, and Esben used the ingredients we sourced to cook an amazing home-style Danish meal. The food was delicious and it was a perfect way to wrap up an amazing trip in Denmark!
Here are the main places we visited in this video:

Rønnede Inn - Danish Restaurant

Thank you to Visit Copenhagen:
Bicycle Ride - In order to really blend in with Danish culture in Copenhagen, you need to go around the city by bicycle. So on day one of our visit to Copenhagen, we jumped into a bicycle cart, and rode over the park. #Copenhagen #Denmark
Frederiksberg Have - Copenhagen has lots of beautiful parks, and we strategically went to one called Frederiksberg Have because it wasn’t far from where we were staying, and there was a restaurant I really wanted to try in the area.
Hansens Gamle Familiehave ( - I love legendary classic restaurants, and Hansens Gamle Familiehave is about as historical and classic as Danish restaurants in Copenhagen get. I went straight for the Hansens lunch platter, which included two platters - first the cold appetizers like herring, and next the hot dishes like pork. Total bill for this huge Danish lunch platter - 718 DKK ($106.43)
Hey Captain ( - One of the attractions I was most interested in doing during my time in Copenhagen, was to take a boat Copenhagen Canal Tour. Thanks to Visit Copenhagen and Hey Captain, for taking me on this fantastic and luxurious canal boat tour of Copenhagen. The drinks made it even better. Amazing boat tour, highly recommended in Copenhagen.
Folkehuset Absalon ( - Finally for dinner we went o Folkehuset Absalon, a former church that has been opened as a community center coffee shop, and a family style restaurant at dinner. The place is packed every night, people come looking for a social dining atmosphere, sharing tables, and delicious home cooked styles Danish food. Food was delicious. Price - 100 DKK ($14.82)
And that wraps up this tour of Copenhagen, including Danish food and attractions!

RR7613A DENMARK: COPENHAGEN'S FREE CITY
7613/A: DENMARK: CHRISTIANIA - COPENHAGEN'S FREE CITY
On April 1st 1976 the Danish Ministry of Defence is
planning to eject 700 men, women and children and
hundreds of dogs, cats, rabbits and chickens from a
military barracks in the middle of Copenhagen, that
has come to be known as the Free City of Christiania.
The residents, who are mostly drug addicts, hippies and
social misfits of one kind or another are being supported
by some the country's leading intellectuals, who see
Christiania as a unique and successful social experiment.
The eviction order is being fought in the courts, but just
in case they lose, the Christianians have sent ambassadors
all over Europe to recruit a cosmic rainbow army of ten
thousand sympathisers to keep the bulldozers out.
This report is a record of a remarkable social
experiment which might disappear forever.

Street food in Copenhagen, Denmark! For this street food tour, we started off at the local market, ate some gourmet market food, and then continued on to the biggest street food market in Copenhagen, followed by a visit to food hall, and finally completing this food tour with the ultimate legendary Danish street food of all! #Denmark #Copenhagen #visitcopenhagen
Torvehallerne - For any food lovers, going to Torvehallerne is a must when you’re in Copenhagen. It’s an amazing artisanal market with a very high standard of food and local ingredients. You can shop for ingredients, have coffee, or choose from one of the many Danish food vendors.
Omegn & Venner - Gourmet foods at Torvehallerne - This is the place we tried the first canned fish and bread, and Danish chicken salad with rye bread. They are cool, and their products are top quality.
Frikadeller - One of the best things to eat is frikadeller, Danish meatballs, that are more like patty size. They are spongy and fluffy, and so good. Price - 45 DKK ($6.72)
I Love Fisk - In addition to the meat frikadeller, we also tried a big fish frikadellar. Price - 50 DKK ($7.47)
Seafood and Smoked Fish - But my favorite part of visiting Torvehallerne food hall, was for sure for the mixed smoked fish and seafood. We enjoyed an assortment of herring, salmon, and my favorite, smoked eel. Total price - 174 DKK ($25.98)
Reffen - Street Food Market ( - An amazing concept, very cool people, and a great selection of different international street food, Reffen, is the biggest street food market in Copenhagen. Build in former shipping containers, and within the old ship yards of Copenhagen, the entire market has a rustic, artistic feel. We tried the Nordic Hot Dogs, and Thrilla in Manila for some Filipino street food.
Tivoli Food Hall - Next up on this Danish street food tour of Copenhagen, Esben and I went to Tivoli Food Hall to try some fast, yet gourmet food. Most of the food is international, but Hallernes Smørrebrød is one stall the serves traditional Danish open faced sandwiches. There were pretty good. Total price - 228 DKK ($34.04)
John's Hotdog Deli - But for sure the place I was most looking forward to going on this entire food tour was at the end, the grand finale! John’s Hotdog deli is everything you could dream of in a hot dog and more! Classic hot dog - 32 DKK ($4.78)
Again, thank you to Visit Copenhagen ( for supporting my trip to Copenhagen.

Christiania: Why this open Danish community has increasingly become an area of tension | ITV News
Christiania is one of Copenhagen's most popular tourist attractions.
For nearly 50 years, it has also been one of the world's most unique social experiments.
This small independent city inside Copenhagen is a communal society run by consensus, with a strong focus on sustainability and the environment.
ITV On Assignment's Rachel Younger visits some of the people who call Christiania home to see if the project still works.
Given recent reports of tensions between police and drug gangs what does the future hold for Denmark’s utopian experimental community.

Environmental and Social Safeguard Workshop in Copenhagen, Denmark
Safeguards Policies are indispensable instruments while attempting to intercept unmerited harm to the community and the surrounding environment throughout the development process. Safeguards Policies support the assessment of anticipated risks on the initial stage of project identification and designing. These instruments enable us to gauge the positive and negative impacts linked with any given development intervention. On the later stage of project implementation, safeguards ensure more effective management of risks and magnify constructive influence.

Hotel SP34 Copenhagen, Denmark; Social Bar Grand Opening & Senior Men’s Basketball w/ Steve Nash
Hotel SP34 is a new 4+ boutique hotel situated in Copenhagen’s old Latin Quarter. The hotel is positioned 100 meters from the Town Hall Square and the pedestrian street Strøget but nevertheless it is placed in its own natural environs with a great neighborhood; a bohemian area with high ceilings, cool restaurants, vintage shops, churches, bars and a university milieu.
One of the hottest spots in Toronto is called The Social Bar, located at 620 Queen Street West. Amazing signature cocktails and martinis. Great music, decor, vibe and friendly bartenders prepared great drinks for a great nightlife in Toronto.
GM of Team Canada Seniors Basketball, Steve Nash, also a member of the Los Angeles Lakers, addressed to the media on the expectations and the objectives from these group of athletes on a Euro tour to play some friendlies games against teams from Europe.
Cohousing communities help prevent social isolation
Groups in Denmark and the U.S. are choosing to live in intentionally intergenerational communities, which emerged to strengthen social ties between aging seniors and their younger counterparts who are balancing work and family. People living in them say the model fosters an interdependent environment and helps everyone feel more comfortable with the process of getting older. NewsHour Weekend's Saskia de Melker reports.
COPENHAGEN - Travel in Copenhagen, Denmark
Copenhagen, Denmark has got to be one of the hippest cities in Scandinavia; this capital city has got it all. We visited Tivoli Gardens, Rosenborg Castle, The Louisiana Museum of Modern Art, took a ride on the canals and enjoyed some of gorgeous city walks.
If you losved our take on Copenhagen, check out the site for more articles on what else to do there - - and make sure to SUBSCRIBE for tons of travel porn -
✈✈✈
There is so much to see and do in Copenhagen. It not only draws young, hip types from all over Scandinavia but is becoming a very global city, with tons of foreigners flocking there to live as well.
We spent a few days there and packed them full.
Rosenborg Castle is a quick train ride from the centre of town and a decadent look at the lives of Danish monarchy of the past. You can see the family jewels and roam the gardens of this magnificent summer home.
If you’re wondering near city centre, there is lots of shopping to be done and it’s also worth a stop at Rundetaarn, or the Round Tower in English. This is a 360° view of Copenhagen from here.
One of our favourite stops was the Louisiana Museum of Modern Art. One of many amazing museums to choose from, it’s has expansive grounds filled with fun and odd art installations, as well as an ever-changing rotation of some of the best modern art in the world.
Being the big kids that we are, we couldn’t visit Copenhagen with visiting Tivoli Gardens, which is the second oldest operating amusement parks in the world. Rides, games, snacks and beers on the lawn;, this place is keeps its old world charm in the centre of town.
There are endless cobbled streets to wander down and see the gorgeous architecture of the city and not much better way to see it than from the water. Renting a solar powered GoBoat is heaven on earth - you are literally the captain of your own ship, complete with picnic table for a heck of a good time.
No matter what you do in Copenhagen, it is brimming with culture and history.
