Lloret de Mar, Costa Brava, Spain 1967
Lloret de Mar (Catalan: [ʎuˈɾɛd də ˈmar], Spanish: [ʎoˈɾe(ð) ðe ˈmar]) is a Mediterranean coastal town in Catalonia, Spain. One of the most popular holiday resorts on the Costa Brava, it is 40 kilometres (25 miles) from Girona and 75 kilometres (47 miles) from Barcelona. With a population of 39,363 in 2009, it is the second largest town in the Selva comarca of Catalonia.
Lloret de Mar attracts summer visitors on package tours. Its main beach (length: 1,630 m; width: 45 m; small, gravel-like stones) is one of the most popular Costa Brava beaches and is consistently awarded the Blue Flag for cleanliness.
There are historical remains of Iberian and Roman civilisations at various archeological sites. The first written references to Lloret de Mar can be found in documents from 966 as Loredo from the Latin word lauretum (bay laurel). Like many Mediterranean coastal towns, Lloret was frequently invaded by the Saracens in the Middle Ages. It is said that the traditional Ball de Plaça (the Dance in the Town Square) dates from this era.
Until the 15th century, the town’s centre was located one kilometre (0.6 miles) inland, next to the Chapel of Les Alegries (the town’s main church before the Church of Sant Romà was built) to protect itself from attacks from English, French, Turkish and Algerian pirates. Lloret’s port became commercially important in the 18th century. It no longer exists but the Garriga Houses built by Americanos, rich returning Spanish immigrants to the Americas, remind us of this affluent era.

Villa Crystal, Unique Costa Brava, Spain
CB001 - Villa Crystal
This modern minimalistic villa, is located a stone-throw from Aiguablava, one of the most sought-after beaches that belong to Begur, Costa Brava. The large floor to ceiling windows take full advantage of the exceptional natural environment which you can enjoy in complete privacy.
The villa sleeps 8, has Wifi, a private pool, a lift and is wheelchair accessible.
Large open plan living-dining space with stunning views, fully equipped kitchen, dining bar and salon area with guest toilet, Air Conditioning, satellite TV and Wifi internet connection. The villa is set into the rocks; hence the kitchen has a side that is actual bedrock.
There are large glass sliding doors which convert the living area into a sort of covered terrace. Outside a spacious terrace with dining table, gas BBQ, 4 sun loungers and a swimming pool of about 7x3 meters.
On the first floor are 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, both with shower. One double bedroom with en suite bathroom, two bedrooms with 2 single beds each and the fourth bedroom with bunk bed for children.
An elevator accommodates the elderly and disabled.
There is 1 parking bay in front of the house and 2 parking spaces on the side of the street. The villa is in a 'cul-du-sac' (dead end street), so only cars to 2 further properties drive past.
The villa is located between Aiguablava beach and Tamariu.
We will do utmost to provide and fulfill any special requests you might have before your arrival and during your stay. The villa is suitable for couples, solo adventurers, business travelers and families with children (baby cot and high chair at your disposal).
At this magnificent location is the perfect holiday home. On the rocks of the impressive Empordà coast line, where you can hear the sound of the waves crashing on the cliffs below and the seagulls overhead. Enjoying the views of the sunset, with a glass of chilled white wine or fresh sparkling water, as it creates a beautifully colored sky.
