San Pablo, California
San Pablo is a city in Contra Costa County, California, United States. The city of Richmond surrounds nearly the whole city. The population was 29,139 at the 2010 census. The current Mayor is Rich Kinney, and the current Vice Mayor is Paul V. Morris. Current Council members include Cecilia Valdez, Kathy Chao Rothberg, and Rich Kinney.
The area in which today's San Pablo is situated was originally occupied by the Cuchiyun band of the Ohlone indigenous people. The area was claimed for the king of Spain in the late 18th century and was granted for grazing purposes to the Mission Dolores located in today's San Francisco. Upon Mexico's independence from Spain, church properties were secularized and in 1823, the area became part of a large grant to an ex-soldier stationed at the San Francisco Presidio, Francisco María Castro.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 2.6 square miles, all land.
San Pablo lies on a sedimentary plain between the northern end of the Berkeley Hills and San Pablo Bay, although the city limits do not extend to the bayshore. The city is traversed by two principal creeks, Wildcat Creek and San Pablo Creek, both of which originate in the ranges to its southeast. The minor Rheem Creek also runs through the city. It is also traversed along its northeast limits by the Hayward Fault, a major branch of the San Andreas Fault which lies to the west.
Escape From New York: Exploring the United States on A Triumph Bonneville
Over the past few years I noticed I was developing some bad habits. I realized that even though I sit at a computer all day for work, I was reaching for my phone more and more, getting lost in a never ending cycle of distraction. I somehow couldn't get enough internet and was stuck in an constant loop of checking instagram, reddit, twitter, text messages, email...rinse and repeat rinse and repeat. It was driving me insane but I couldn't seem to break it.
I decided to take my bike on a crazy 6 week adventure across the good ol' US of A, deleting all the garbage off my phone and just experiencing it. Paper maps, camping, exploring, talking to locals for cool places to check out...god damn was it good. I even had a buddy hop on for a week to share some of the experience. We stayed off the highways and enjoyed seeing the real America, two lane backroads only.
I was very lucky the stars aligned and gave me an opening in my work schedule to make this insane trip possible... but I can't advocate enough how important it was to take a break from the internet. 6 weeks was indulgent, any amount of time is amazing. Hopefully someone sees this and gets the itch to do the same, you will not regret it.
(Of course now that I'm back, here I am on my computer, writing this up so I can post it on instagram, reddit, twitter...oh well. )

F-15 Fighter Jet Flight Operations – Pilots Prep And Takeoff For Mission
U.S. Air Force F-15 Strike Eagle pilots and crew members prepare and takeoff for a mission at an undisclosed location in Southeast Asia.
The McDonnell Douglas F-15 Eagle is an American twin-engine, all-weather tactical fighter aircraft designed by McDonnell Douglas (now Boeing) to gain and maintain air supremacy in aerial combat. It is among the most successful modern fighters, with over 100 victories and no losses in aerial combat.
The F-15 was originally envisioned as a pure air superiority aircraft. Its design included a secondary ground-attack capability that was largely unused. The aircraft design proved flexible enough that an all-weather strike derivative, the F-15E Strike Eagle, was later developed and entered service in 1989. The F-15 Eagle is expected to be in service with the U.S. Air Force past 2025. The F-15 production line is set to end in 2019, 47 years after the type's first flight. 10 Things You Should NEVER Do in the United States ???????? The Don'ts of Visiting America
In today's travel vlog, we discuss 10 things you should never do in the United States, the Don'ts of Visiting America.
Just like any country there are things you should not do in the United States of America - I know that other countries are in America but the term has become slang for the United States. What things you should not do in the United States was fun to put together. I tried to keep it general since the US is so big and so culturally different depending on what part of the country you are in.
These things will help you when traveling to America. Some of these things are funny, some are serious and some are weird things about visiting the USA. So hop on for some travel advice about the Dont's of Visiting America!
Never just visit New York or Disney world. The US is so big and so diverse - go see other parts. You got a zillion lakes in Minnesota, the Rocky Mountains in Colorado, a fantasy outdoor, Patagonia type work on Montana, amazing Tex Mex food in Texas, the most amazing forests in Washington State, the aloha spirit of Hawaii and on and on and on. So much to see….go try something other than New York or Disney! :)
Never get out of your car when stopped by police. In many parts of the world it is customary to get out of your car when pulled over. DO NOT do this in the US!
Never forget to tip at restaurants and bars. It is customary to tip between 15-25% in the United States. Unlike most parts of the world tipping is not only expected it’s how servers make their money!
Never get too close. In the US we like our personal space. We don’t do the kiss on the cheek and we don’t usually like people in our personal space.
Never say you like or dislike Trump. We are so so polarized and divided politically in the US now, that it just wise to keep clear of that discussion. But don’t worry beyond the rhetoric most Americans are pretty good people.
Never think you can rely on public transportation. Other than a few cities like New York and DC - the US does not have good public transportation. And if you are in smaller towns and rural areas - you’ll find no public transportation. We are very much a car culture.
Never call Soccer Football! Football is a different thing in the Unites States. If you say football, we going to think you’re talking about American football. And even further, don't try to convince an American your version of Football is better than ours. It doesn’t matter that your football is the #1 sport in the rest of the world. In our country our football is #1 and Soccer isn’t even close!
Never expect Americans to be able to speak any language other than English. Unfortunately, it’s just not something we prioritize in the US. Im just as guilty as anyone, because of the influence of US pop culture and tourism - most places I’ve been, I can get by speaking English. We don’t NEED to speak another language and there isn’t much desire to be bilingual in the US.
Never expect our pharmacies to sell just pharmaceutical stuff. In most other countries, pharmacies only have pharmaceutical products. US pharmacies are more like general stores. You can get your pharmaceutical products but you can also get groceries, toys and even beach equipment!
Never drink before you’re 21. Most of the rest of the world has much lower drinking ages. Heck, in Vietnam you can drink at any age! Not in the US. Drinking laws are very, very stick. Never drink in public. Most cities and states have strict open container laws. The Original Taco Bell Tacos - MEXICAN STREET FOOD Tour in Los Angeles, California!
►SUBSCRIBE for 2 new videos per week:
►T-shirts and caps available now:
Thanks to Jeffrey Merrihue ( and Austin Burgess (
Along with Jeffrey and Austin - two food extreme friends, we set off on a day of Mexican food and fun feasting in greater LA.
Gilberto’s Taquiza - For the first stop on this Mexican street food tour, we drove all the way to West Covina, California, about 45 minutes from Central Los Angeles, to a little spot known as Gilberto’s Taquiza. Jeffrey made sure to call Gilberto himself to reserve some of the meat dripping dynamite sticks to make sure we had some. The dynamite sticks are essentially stewed lamb, cooked until fall apart tender and dripping with oil. In order to make them he dunked a tortilla into the hot oil, sizzled it on the hot plate, filled it with the fall apart tender meat, and rolled it up into a taquito. The result was spectacular. Everything else was delicious too, but the dynamite sticks were crazily good.
Total price - $35 for everything
Birrieria Guadalajara - Next we drove a little further towards Riverside, California, to eat birria, a special Mexican goat stew. Again, this is another Mexican food that just melts in your mouth, meat cooked until fall apart tender. It was spectacular and all the staff were very friendly as well.
Total price - $32 for everything
Mitla Cafe - Right across the street from Birrieria Guadalajara you will find Mitla Cafe, home to the original crunchy American taco. An American taco is a crunchy shell, ground beef, iceberg lettuce, yellow cheese, and tame salsa. As the true story goes, Glen Bell was selling food across the street and used to come to Mitla Cafe to eat their amazing crunchy tacos. Eventually he got the owner to show him how to make the crunchy tacos, and he later started the entire taco bell empire. The downside is that he never admitted that he got the idea and recipe from Mitla Cafe. It’s nice to see Mitla Cafe is still doing very well, and their crunchy American tacos are fantastic.
Price - $13.95
Taco Bell - Yes, just for comparison purposes, we had to go to the nearly Taco Bell. It had been years since I had last eaten taco bell. I have to admit the crunchy tacos were decent, but the crunchwrap supreme doritos locos thing we order, nope. That just didn’t do it for me.
Mariscos Jalisco - Finally to end this Mexican street food tour of LA, we headed to Mariscos Jalisco, a legendary seafood truck serving their famous shrimp tostadas and the Poseidon. They were delicious in every dimension, and it was the perfect ending to this full day of amazing Mexican food in LA.
Total price - $13 for everything
Thank you for watching this LA food video!
