I ABSOLUTELY LOVED BRUGES!!! It's such a beautiful town. Can't believe it. I personally enjoyed Bruges much more than Brussels. An absolute MUST VISIT if in Belgium even if you only have 2 days. Not exaggerating!!

Bruges (Brugge) before the motor car (1910-11?)
Horse-drawn traffic, a tram, people in early twentieth-century dress bring life to this Pathé travelogue, showing you how the old town looked nearly a hundred years ago. Released in this form for showing on home movie projectors in the 20s, the film was shot around 1910. This is a German-language copy with English subtitles - if anyone would like to provide a Dutch translation, I'd be pleased to add it. The full original title, Brügge das Tote, meaning Bruges the Dead, is explained towards the end of the film.

Girls weekend away! My good friend Jaimee (@sodafontaine), a fellow Kiwi Pinup in London, and I travelled to Bruges, Belgium via the Eurostar for one last hurrah before she heads home to New Zealand.
We had picked Bruges for not only it's ease to get to (the train really is much less stressful than flying!) but also it's allure of a small, quaint medieval town.
It did not disappoint, we had a lovely 2 days there just exploring every little corner we could, devouring waffles, chocolates, Belgium fries, French and Italian cuisine and getting stopped by A LOT of tourists for photos :-D

The cloth trade elevated Brugge to being a major center in the Middle Ages, while today it's better known for its picturesque setting upon a system of attractive canals. In the main square, the Town Hall & cathedral of the Holy Saviour are immaculate eyefuls where Flemish artwork can be beheld.
