The Horses of Aarhus
Bruce, Tucker and I had been driving past these horses on the way to the sailing center for the SAP 5O5 World Championships. Bruce had his eye on the black and white speckled horse for days, so when we had the chance to feed them, we parked the car on the side of the road and jumped out of the car with two apples in our pockets. Here is what happened!

The Pretty Things, went in 1966 to be the most raw and dirty, one could even hear on the rock scene, and now 20 years later they had finally come to Aarhus, Denmark.
The charismatic singer Phil May as well as super guitarist Dick Taylor (who played bas in The Rolling Stones until 1963) were the only 2 from the original band, but on the other hand they are the concentrate of The Pretty Things. And remember that The Pretty Things was the primary source of inspiration for the early Pink Floyd.!
The 1986 Pretty Things in Aarhus lived up to expectations with a lot of well-behaved, dynamic and fluctuating dirty blues. The atmosphere was at the boiling point. When the concert was over, I was contacted by DR (Danish Brodcast) who recorded parts of the concert for a later broadcast, and they asked me if they could use my handy Sony Tc-d5 cassette recorder, for an interview with the Pretty Things back stage. I was therefore invited behind the stage - and there I met my 2 long time idols.
Phil May kindly greeted me and invited me to sit down next to him. I honored the square. Then the rock star fired a game of funny tobacco which he shared with me and the Crew. A lot of talk and The interview came in and was later broadcast on the radio station P3, in the program Rock Live.
Here are my pocked recording inside the audience that evening at Vestergade 58 in Aarhus 1986. Enjoy

A little snippet from a fantastic show
Paderup/Risskov Big Band - live koncert (1989)
This concert with the Big Band was filmed at Paderup Gymnasium, Randers, in the year 1989. The orchestra was a combination of youngsters from both Randers and Risskov (Aarhus). One of the young female performers is Trine Holck Grandam (Trine Bix), who later became leadsinger in the pop group DAZE, which had a few hits in the late 90's. Also featured is a young Sune Thorbjørnsen, both on vocal and guitar, he later became a member of the band NATURAL BORN HIPPIES, which had a lot of hits manly in Germany in the late 90s. Also here you can find Jørgen Holmegaard and Kent Olsen, who both later formed a band with Marie Frank, which had a lot of hits in Denmark!

How do you explain a complex and abstract idea through a simple hand drawing? Architect Mikkel Frost believes that if you can't tell your story on a single piece of paper, then you are either doing too much or it is too complicated. Watch his talk - and drawings - from TEDxAarhus 2018. Mikkel Frost is an architect and founding partner of the architectural office CEBRA. He worked on designing iconic Danish buildings such as the Iceberg, a prize-winning housing project in Aarhus, and Experimentarium, a well-known science center near Copenhagen. At TEDxAarhus 2018 Mikkel shared how he explains abstract architectural ideas through simple hand drawings. He believes that if you can't tell a story on a single piece of paper, then you are either doing too much or it is too complicated. Interestingly, some of his watercolours have been acquired by the Museum for Architectural Drawing in Berlin. Mirja Klippel - River of Silver
October 19th Mirja Klippel (Fin) releases her first full length album, River of Silver. Nine songs that invite the listener into an intimate, toned and poetic space, where the interplay with her musical partner, Alex Jønsson (DK), is essential for the albums sound and live-feeling.

ABOUT
Mirja Klippel was born 1987 in Finland, but now lives in Copenhagen, Denmark. In 2016 she won a Danish Music Award as Songwriter of the Year for her debut EP. Since then she has gradually established herself on the international songwriters scene.
She has a music degree from Sibelius Academy in Helsinki (Finland), the University for Music & Stage Arts, Gothenburg (Sweden), and the Rhythmic Music Conservatory in Copenhagen (Denmark).

River of Silver is recorded in The Village Recording in Copenhagen and will be released October 19th on CD, digitally and on vinyl.

This song is about my friends and I running around as kids between the ages of 17 and 21. I say kids, because we are still now just kids, and I hope that part of us always will be. But this song talks about some of funniest and stupid times of my life with best mates, every time I sing it I think of sitting on a train on the way to Sydney talking absolute shit to each other.
