Top 10 Hot Springs / Onsen in Japan
Hot water percolates up out of the ground from one end of Japan to the other. The Japanese word for a hot spring is onsen, and there are more than 3000 of them in the country, more than anywhere else on earth – it’s like Iceland on steroids. In Japan, it is not an unusual or even decadent way to pass time soaking in a tub of bubbling hot water. Here are some that are considered to be the holy grail of the onsen world.

Japan Bath House Town! Kinosaki Onsen, Tips & Guide | Japan April 2018
Hi everyone! Today we visited one of my new favourite places in Japan - Kinosaki Onsen! Kinosaki Onsen is a Japanese Bathhouse Town; it's on the north side of the main island of Japan, as is home to around 7 public onsen (bath houses). We took an early train from Kyoto and walked around the beautiful town, popping into most of the onsen. In this video I give a bunch of tips for visting onsen, so if it's on your list of things to do when visiting Japan check it out! Thanks so much for watching!

MY SCARIEST EXPERIENCE IN JAPAN!|Day 82 - Tokushima
The Iya Valley (祖谷渓, Iyakei) is a remote, mountainous valley in western Tokushima Prefecture. Located deep in the heart of Shikoku Island, the secluded valley is characterized by steep mountain slopes and deep rocky gorges which were traditionally crossed by vine bridges. Three of the vine bridges, Iya Kazurabashi and the Oku-Iya Kazurabashi bridges, are maintained to this day and remain some of the most popular attractions of the area. Iya is also well known for its hot springs and outdoor activities.
Due to its remoteness, the valley has served as a refuge for members of the Taira Clan (also known as Heike) who escaped to the region after losing the Gempei War (1180-1185) at the end of the Heian Period. Their descendants can still be found hundreds of years later around the Iya Valley and in other remote regions of Japan such as Shirakawago, Yunishigawa, and the Noto Peninsula.

Why Visit Shibu Onsen: Beautiful Traditional Japanese Town
Shibu Onsen is where Japenese people come to be traditional, wearing yukata's & bathing in the 9 natural onsens that run through the town.
The area is most famous for Jigokudani monkey park. Where wild macaques bathe in the hot springs during the winter months to avoid the cold
Japan has many mesmerising areas. Of course, you should visit Tokyo, Osaka and Kyoto. However there are so many secret Japanese villages and towns that are off the beaten path, at least by western tourists.
The best time of year to visit Shibu Onsen is December to March

Kyushu Japan's 'Onsen Capital' (Hot Spring Town)
In this episode:
Masa and I go on a day trip to what they call Kyushu's 'onsen capital,' Ureshino in Saga (though other places in Kyushu claim the title as well). It's an idyllic place where relaxation is the main attraction. Come with us as we literally shop for a good onsen, ultimately leading us to one of the town's best spots.
Pinoy in Japan Series:
Japan has always been among the top destinations in the world. But it is more than just Tokyo, Osaka, ramen and cherry blossoms. Join me as I take you to some of the places and show you some of the things I experience as an ordinary Pinoy working and living here. Nothing fancy. Simply Emman in Japan.
LIVING IN JAPAN | OFF THE BEATEN PATH
Having lived in Japan for over four years now the desire to explore and travel is just as much a part of my day to day as when I first arrived. This trip checked off a significant location to visit as it was the first play my first Japanese teacher recommended that I go. On the way up we did not take the toll roads which added time to commute but beauty to the surroundings. Nikko is an amazing place and I definitely rank the experience of going up there with one of the most amazing things I have done, not limited to Japan in fact, but in my whole entire life.
