Tyavarekoppa wildlife sanctuary and zoo has many animals, reptiles and birds. Thyavarekoppa Tiger and Lion safari is a place 12 kms from Shivamogga town. It is famous in the locality for its tiger and lion safari.

Its a wonderful experience going to lion and tiger safaari with family specially with kids
2.tariff also reasonal.
3.beautiful play area for kids.
4.buses are not available from bus stand to safaari.
5.better to use own vehicle or auto.

The Tyavarekoppa Lion and Tiger Reserve is a popular wildlife destination of Karnataka. It is located at a distance of about 10 km from Shimoga (also known as Shivamogga) on the Shimoga-Sagar Road. The reserve is spread across 200 hectares of land.
Tyavarekoppa Lion and Tiger Reserve is a place to rehabilitate the lions and tigers that are rescued from circuses across India. It is an open zoo where safaris are conducted for tourists by the forest department. The wildlife safari was started in the year 1998.

It is worth visiting this place once but the best time to visit here is September - November
