Timmelsjoch Hochalpenstraße is another great drive in Austria. This mountain pass is located in the Obergurgl region near the Austrian and Italian border. It’s another high mountain pass with a peak elevation of 2,509m. This pass is closed in the winter months and during night time. This is another pass which is subject to a toll charge of €16 Euros for cars and €14 Euros for motorcycles for one way travel. The road is completely sealed and in good condition with sufficient width for passing oncoming vehicles. The speed is generous at 80kph with some restrictions in certain areas. The scenery of the pass is spectacular and allows for some great views from the high altitude. There is minor traffic on this pass as it’s a toll road, but it is a popular tourist destination. The road is quite fun with approximately 30 hairpins. A nice pass to drive in Austria.

Die Ausflugsziele „Top Mountain Star“ und Naturpark-Infopoint Hohe Mut sind bequem mit Bergbahnen zu erreichen. Die Ausblicke auf die umliegenden Dreitausender einfach herrlich von dort oben.
Mit etwas Ausdauer erreichen Wanderer die spektakuläre Piccard Brücke am Gurgler Ferner, die in 100 Metern Höhe eine Schlucht überspannt. Die Timmelsjoch Hochalpenstraße verbindet Nordtirol mit Südtirol und bietet Nordtiroler Hochgebirge mit mediterranen Flair. Das Top Mountain Motorcycle Museum befindet sich im Top Mountain Crosspoint. Als höchstes Motorradmuseum Europas beheimatet es für Zweiradfans einzigartige Exponate.

The getaways Top Mountain Star and Naturpark-Infopoint Hohe Mut are easy to reach with cable cars. The views of the surrounding 3000 meter mountains are wonderful from there. Hikers reach the spectacular Piccard Bridge on the Gurgler Ferner, a suspension bridge at a height of 100 meters. The Timmelsjoch High Alpine Road connects North Tyrol with South Tyrol and connects North Tyrolean high mountains with a mediterranean flair. The Top Mountain Motorcycle Museum is located inside the Top Mountain Crosspoint. As the highest motorcycle museum in Europe, it hosts unique exhibits for two-wheeler-fans.

Cycling in the Alps: 2500m high at the Timmelsjoch

In early September, I took off for an exciting adventure. In two days, I wanted to cycle up the Inn from Oetz, cross to Südtirol, and then return to Tirol via the Timmelsjoch/Passo del Rombo. On the first day, I returned to a magic place. This year, I had the privilege to visit the Reschensee three times: in winter, summer, fall. I had to wait six years since I first saw the sunk church tower of Glaun in the lake.

Passo del Rombo (Timmelsjoch Pass) motorcycle ride

Siti and I rode through the Passo del Rombo (Timmelsjoch pass) during our Euro trip in Aug 2016 on an R1200GSLC. The road is an international high mountain pass at an elevation of 2.509m (8,231ft) above the sea level that creates a link through the Ötztal Alps along the border between Austria and Italy. It's one of the highest mountain passes of the Alps.

On our Way to the Top of the Timmeljoch, catched this 2 Amazing car Aston Martin and Ferrari driving up fast to the Top of the Alp. It is amazing how the sound vibrates in the Mountain, the Ferrari and the Aston Martin too. Wow. Later we met, they traveled from all the Way from England. What a trip. Amazing Sounds. Can't wait to be driving here myself with a New Ferrari with other Funs
