Tokoname is a city in Japan famous for its pottery production. I went there in 28 January 2018, I was studying photography at that time and I went there with my teacher and my classmates to take pictures!
It was really cold and started to snow, sadly I wasn't capable of filming everything, but this is what I got!

Tokoname is located on the western coast of the Chita Peninsula in southern Aichi Prefecture, facing Ise Bay.
Tokoname has been associated with ceramics production since at least the Heian period, and Tokoname-yaki works from this period have been found in locations as far away as Aomori Prefecture in the north of Japan and Kagoshima prefecture in the south. By the Kamakura period, over 3000 kilns were active. During the Sengoku period, the area came under the control of the Isshiki clan, and later came under the rule of Oda Nobunaga and Toyotomi Hideyoshi. During the Edo period, the area around present-day Tokoname was part of Owari Domain.

Tokoname had one of the oldest pottery kilns in Japan. Now the city is famous for producing ceramic teapots. Although the potters of Tokoname still keep excellent skills of using pottery wheel, the city has lost its former prosperity and large kilns with brick smokestacks are left abandoned. In 2013 and 2014, to attract tourists and promote Tokoname teapots, an event 'walking in the teapot village' was held.
