Tokopah Falls Hike and Trail Guide - Sequoia National Park - Nice and easy!
A nice and easy hike to Tokopah Falls in Sequoia National Park. Four miles to the falls and back. Hike follows the Marble Fork of the Kaweah River. Great views all along the trail.
TOKOPAH FALLS HIKE - SEQUOIA NATIONAL PARK
I was long overdue for a camping trip, and what better way than to spend it with friends! With Heather and Gil, we went on an overnight excursion to Sequoia National Park. We arrived late on Friday evening, and set up camp. On Saturday, we packed up our site and made our way out to the trailhead to hike the Tokopah Falls Trail. The trail was about 3.4 miles round trip. The falls themselves were lacking, but there was running water up in the little creeks along the way. Afterwards, we had a late lunch/early dinner situation at Mad Duck Brewery in Fresno, CA. Yummy burgers and beer!

Sequoia National Park: Kaweah River (HD)
Filmed and edited by Sheety33 during June of 2011.
The Kaweah River in the U.S. state of California flows 32 miles (51 km) westward from the foothills of the Sierra Nevada into the Central Valley. It rises in forks in the southern Sierra Nevada inside Sequoia National Park, the longest of which is the Middle Fork, about 18 miles (29 km) long. Once it exits the 8,000-foot (2,400 m)-deep canyons that make up its headwaters, the river flows into a reservoir called Lake Kaweah, where most of its water is stored for irrigation and flood control. Formerly the river continued southwest to empty into Tulare Lake, the terminal sink of an endorheic basin also including the Tule and Kern Rivers as well as southern distributaries of the Kings. Agricultural development and diversion for irrigation have left most of the Kaweah's lower course dry, as is Tulare Lake.
Snowmelt from the high Sierra Nevada, along the 13,000-foot (4,000 m)-high Great Western Divide, feeds the Kaweah River, which reaches enormous peak flows in the spring and early summer and shrinks to a trickle by late autumn. The river's average flow is around 550 cubic feet per second (16 m3/s), but ranges anywhere from 7,500 cubic feet per second (210 m3/s) to 40 cubic feet per second (1.1 m3/s) in the average year. The snowmelt-season flow is about 2,000 cubic feet per second (57 m3/s) and the summer flow is around 700 cubic feet per second (20 m3/s).
The site of Lake Kaweah, in a broad, arid valley in the foothills, was once inhabited by the Yokut people, who had permanent villages along the river but traveled into the headwaters area in summer. The name Kaweah is thought to mean crow or raven cry in the Yokut language. Eventually, people from the Mono Lake basin began migrating over the Sierra Nevada, settling in the high valleys of the Kaweah's forks. Mineral King on the East Fork of the river was the subject of a silver boom in the 1870s, which soon faded. The majority of the Kaweah drainage basin above the Central Valley became part of Sequoia National Park in 1890, and a road was constructed along parts of the Middle Fork and the Marble Fork. The southeasternmost part of the river's watershed also became part of the park in the 1970s, after a failed proposal to build a massive ski resort, and the Kaweah River is now a popular destination for hiking, fishing and whitewater rafting.

ROARING RIVER FALLS & MISTY FALLS, KINGS CANYON NATIONAL PARK. CA.
Kings Canyon National Park is adjacent to Sequoia National Park in California's Sierra Nevada mountains. It's known for its huge sequoia trees, notably the gigantic General Grant Tree in Grant Grove. To the east, Cedar Grove is surrounded by towering granite canyon walls. From here, trails lead to Zumwalt Meadow along the Kings River, and to Roaring River Falls. The park is home to rattlesnakes, bears and cougars.

Sequoia National Park - Moro Rock, Tokopah Falls, Panoramic Point, Hume Lake GoPro
Visited Sequoia National Park and Kings Canyon National Park for the weekend. It was like 25 degrees, perfect weather :)
Moro Rock was a short trail but the view was magnificent. A park ranger suggested Tokopah Falls. This trail was the longest from them all and definitely worth it. You're basically hiking along the river where you can stop to relax and enjoy the sound of nature.
I do not own the music. It's property of its owner.

Mist Falls Trail, Kings Canyon, California
Clips from our hike on the Mist Falls Trail in Kings Canyon National Park, California. This is a 8.1 mile in and out hike that leads to a waterfall at the top. We hiked this on June 25, 2018 and it blew us away with the views of the canyon. The first part of the trail goes through the woods and you eventually reach a flat exposed rock that offers incredible views over the canyon. Keep hiking up and you will reach Mist Falls. You can continue up the trail to reach the top of the waterfall. Recommend bug spray for this hike! Be cautious for wildlife as well, we saw a mother bear with two cubs on the trail. Great day hike with absolutely incredible views of the canyon!

October 2019. This is a one night solo backpacking trip back into spectacular Ansel Adams Wilderness of the Eastern Sierra Nevada, starting at Devils Postpile National Monument, Inyo National Forest, at Mammoth Lakes California. I saw not just one but three beautiful waterfalls on this creek. It was a fantastic and very eventful journey.

Yep goes to Sierra Mountains
Yin and Pat's adventure in the Sierra Mountains.
Places visited in Sequoia National Park: Great Forest Museum, General Sherman Tree, Giant Forest Grove, Tokopah Falls, Moro Rock, Crescent Meadow, Wolverton Trail towards Heather Lake, and random waterfall at the side of the road (there was no sign next to it). Drove from Sequoia National Park to Kings Canyon National Park. Places visited in Yosemite National Park: Glacier Point, Illilouette Fall, Big Trees Lodge, Visitor Center at Hill's Studio, Meadow across the street of Big Trees Lodge, Yosemite Tunnel View, Mist Trail to waterfalls, Vernal Fall, Nevada Fall, and John Muir Trail to Yosemite Valley parking lot.
Weather experienced: fog, rain, hail, lots and lots of wind, snow, we did see lightening while driving there, some sunshine, and happiness (if that can be considered weather then we were drenched in it).
I do not own the songs used in this video. First song: Accidentally In Love by Counting Crows. Second song: Ain't No Mountain High Enough by Marvin Gaye and Tammi Terrell.

Merced Falls - California - DJI Mavic Pro Footage
Merced Falls is located just north of Merced California was you follow Highway 59. Pass the little cush town of Snelling and you're there! During the past drought, it barely had any water going through it. Now, as you can see, it's back to life. Merced Falls was once an industrial center for Merced County. It had flour, woolen, and lumber mills. Population peaked at 1500, mostly lumber workers. Town's peak was 1912 to 1940s when it was served by the Yosemite Valley Railroad and lumbering was at its height. The railroad folded in the 1940s and the town soon faded. The first bigger dam separates Lake McSwain and a smaller dam which separates this small reservoir and the Merced river. It is a nice place to go canoeing, fishing, and just hang out.
