Torrance Beach to Redondo Beach Pier walk Part 1
I plan to record walks all the way up the Strand to Santa Monica. This is the first part in that walk. The day I recorded this was very windy (I would not play this with the volume set high), I do have some foam on the front mike but I have learned that there are more areas that need foam to really reduce wind noise. I am currently working on putting additional foam on/in those areas. I hope to have the wind noise issue dealt with soon. I like the idea of using a head mount for my GoPro Session 5 and at this time there is no 3 axis gimble designed to be head mounted. This walk is a little rocky, usually the software stabilization in the camera removes more of the motion from the walk. I have as a long term goal to find a way to keep the camera head mounted, but on a gimble, then my walks will be much smoother. Most people who make walking videos like mine, use a large camera mounted on a stick with a gimble. I want to make long walks and hikes where my hands need to be free, like my Lunada Bay walk.

Hermosa Beach is a beachfront city located in the South Bay region of Los Angeles County, California. Hermosa Beach is bordered by the other two beach cities, Manhattan Beach to the north and Redondo Beach to the south.
The city's beach is popular for sunbathing, beach volleyball, surfing, paddleboarding, bars, cycling and running. The city itself extends only about 15 blocks from east to west and 40 blocks from north to south, with Pacific Coast Highway running down the middle.
A paved path, called The Strand, runs along Hermosa's beach from Torrance Beach in the south approximately twenty miles north to Santa Monica. The Hermosa Beach pier is at the end of Pier Avenue, which is one of the beach community's main shopping, eating and partying areas.
The Hermosa Beach Pier, extends 1,140 feet from the Strand toward the Pacific Ocean. The current Hermosa Beach Pier structure was built in 1965 and renovated in the early 2000s.

THE HISTORY OF REDONDO BEACH
Before the Beginning...
1850 - California becomes the 31st state.
1854 - Manuel Dominguez sells Redondo's salt lake to Henry Allenson and William Johnson. Sale precipitates establishment of Pacific Salt Works.
1862 - Los Angeles merchant Francis Mellus acquires bankrupt salt works. Cycles of drought and floods ruin ranch economy.
1887 - Redondo Company buys 1,400 acres from Dominguez heirs. Land is bordered by Knob Hill, Herondo, Prospect, and the ocean. The name Redondo is derived from the round shape and amphitheater topography. State engineer William Hammond Hall conducts soundings off shore and discovers a deep canyon leading to Redondo's development as a port.
1888 - First Santa Fe excursion train arrives in Redondo. Iron pier is built at foot of Emerald Street. John C. Ainsworth and Robert R. Thompson acquire the Redondo Company.
1889 - Los Angeles County Supervisors grant Redondo Railway Company a franchise to operate.
1890 - Chautauqua Assembly is dedicated at Pacific Coast Highway and Diamond Street. Hotel Redondo opens on site later to become Veterans Park.
1892 - City of Redondo Beach is incorporated after citizens vote 177 to 10.
2001 - City of Redondo Beach official population is 63,261.
