Torre del Chianti o dell'Acqua
Un punto panoramico di grande effetto che domina tutto il territorio circostante. Un uso intelligente e in chiave turistica di una struttura ingombrante. Questa è la Torre del Chianti, appena aperta al pubblico a San Casciano.
Riuscirete a vedere, con un semplice giro su voi stessi, le montagne fiorentine e Vallombrosa, le vette pistoiesi, i territori pisani, le colline chiantigiane, i borghi senesi e quando il cielo è particolarmente limpido persino il mare.
Questa antica torre piezometrica, di proprietà comunale, ha una suggestiva forma cilindrica e, dall'alto dei suoi 33 metri, domina il paesaggio circostante.
Ricostruita nelle sue forme attuali nel secondo dopoguerra, mantiene ancora la sua funzione di deposito dell'acqua, ma è diventata soprattutto una terrazza panoramica da cui è possibile godere una vista mozzafiato sulle colline chiantigiane.
Come accedere: nel mese di aprile - in via eccezionale, ingresso gratuito e senza prenotazione sabato e domenica.
Dal 1° maggio 2012 il costo del biglietto è di € 5,00 comprensivo di visita al Museo di San Casciano oppure di € 2,00 per la sola visita alla Torre del Chianti.

San Casciano in Val di Pesa is a comune in the Province of Florence in the Italian region Tuscany, located about 15 kilometres southwest of Florence
San Casciano in Val di Pesa borders the following municipalities; Greve in Chianti, Impruneta, Montespertoli, Scandicci and Tavarnelle Val di Pesa.
San Casciano is highly renowned for the production of wine and olive oil. The principal cellars of the wine company Antinori are established in San Casciano. The rest of the economy is mainly based on handicraft and tourism (especially agritourism). In the twentieth century it was a quite important centre of the Italian typographical industry.

Pieve of San Pancrazio, located on the hill dividing the valleys of the Pesa and Virginio streams. Known since the 10th century, it has noteworthy apses of Lombard architectural style. The interior has a nave and two aisles with matronaei. Works of art include a Madonna with Child of Agnolo Gaddi's school and a Crucifixion by Santi di Tito dating from 1590. Also notable is the studiolo by Cosimo Gheri, a pupil of Santi di Tito, with precious frescoes depicting the liberal arts and poets and scientists of the Classical Era.
Pieve di Santo Stefano, in the frazione of Campoli, built in the 9th century. It was a possession of the bishops of Florence, including the future Pope Clement VII, who served here as priest. In the 18th century, the interior was renovated along Baroque lines and a portico was added.
Pieve di Santa Cecilia is located in the frazione of Decimo. It is mentioned in a document by Charlemagne dated 774. Heavily restored in 1728, it has a nave and two aisles; only the bell tower remain of the original Romanesque edifice.
Pieve di San Giovanni in Sugana, located 232 metres above sea level near to the frazione of Cerbaia. It was mentioned in a document of 1019 with the name of Pieve di Soana. The façade presents an original Romanesque portal and single lancet window.
Castle of Gabbiano. According to 11th century sources, it was originally built around a square tower which served as a bulwark on the road to Greve in Chianti, one of the most important routes between Florence and Siena. It was enlarged in the 13th century by the Bardi family of Florence. The rounded towers, revealing a French influence, were added in 1505.
Castle of Pergolato. Built by the Buondelmonti family, Pergolato was originally used as a bulwark for the defence of the family's feudal domains, then served as a hunting lodge. It has huge decorated halls and elegant arcades. It is built on the steep cliffs standing on the left bank of the Pesa river.
Castle of Montefiridolfi, also owned by the Buondelmonti family. Today mostly rebuilt, but the original structures and architectures are still visible
Castle of Bibbione. Built before 1000, this castle belonged to the Buondelmonti family who restored it in the 11th century. In the 16th century it passed to the Machiavelli family who keep it as hunting manor till 1727. The castle has magnificent courtyards and halls. From outside it has an impressive shape, something between a fortress and a sixteenth-century manor house.
The Bowman’s Grave. Found in 1978 during agricultural works, it is an Etruscan grave dating back to the 7th century BC. Its name derives from a large slab with a bas-relief representing a bowman. The original slab is preserved at the Museum of Holy Arts in San Casciano.

Tavarnelle Val di Pesa is a comune (municipality) in the Province of Florence in the Italian region Tuscany, located about 25 kilometres (16 miles) south of Florence.
The main attraction of the territory of Tavarnelle is the Badia di Passignano (Abbey of Passignano), a monastery existing from the High Middle Ages.
Other sights include:
Church of Santa Lucia al Borghetto, part of a Franciscan monastery known from 1260. The church is an example of Gothic architecture.
Gothic church of Madonna della Neve, with 14th-15th-century frescoes.
Church of Santa Maria del Carmine al Morrocco (15th century)
Sanctuary of Santa Maria delle Grazie a Pietracupa, founded in 1596, with a Madonna image frescoed by Paolo Schiavo.
Pieve of San Pietro in Bossolo, a Romanesque church known from 990, housing works from Roman, Byzantine and Florentine schools.

The pieve of San Donato in Poggio (12th century), in Romanesque style, with a basilica plan with a nave and two aisles and three apses. It houses a baptism shell by Giovanni della Robbia (1513) and a triptych by Giovanni del Biondo (1375).
The Pesa is a river 53 km long that traverses the Provinces of Florence and Sienna in Tuscany, Italy. The Val di Pesa - the Valley of the River Pesa, is the name given to the areas along the river and also includes much of its watershed.
The average altitude of the River Pesa basin is 286 m. The river is effectively a seasonal torrent in parts and remains without water in its final stretch during the summer.
The River Pesa arises from the confluence of several tributaries in the area located between the Badiaccia in Montemura (675 m) and Badia a Coltibuono (628 m) at the border of the provinces of Sienna and Florence. After descending to the south-west to the so-called Palace of Radda, the river turns to the north-west and maintains this direction, touching Sambuca in the municipality of Tavarnelle Val di Pesa and then Bargino and Cerbaia in the municipality of San Casciano in Val di Pesa, San Vincenzo a Torri in the municipality of Scandicci, Ginestra Fiorentina in the municipality of Lastra a Signa and finally crosses the town of Montelupo Fiorentino where it flows into the Arno.
