Rare Breeds Farm | Rare Breeds Survival Trust(RBST)
In modern agriculture, a rare breed is a breed of poultry or livestock that has a very small breeding population, usually from a few hundred to a few thousand.
The Rare Breeds Survival Trust (RBST) is a conservation charity[1] whose purpose is to secure the continued existence and viability of the native farm animal genetic resources (FAnGR) of the United Kingdom. It was founded in 1973 to preserve native breeds; since then, no UK-native breed has become extinct.

In some shops, the Totnes Pound is legal tender, an initiative designed to keep money bouncing around inside the local economy. In reality, there are only so many handmade soft furnishings and vintage top hats the residents have need of, so for all its green, local-first credentials, it is the crisp greens of the Daytripper that helps nourish its independent soul.

Part of our Devon holiday was a visit to Rare Breeds Farm (Totnes) and Otters & Butterfly Farm (Buckfastleigh). We enjoyed most watching the lovable Otters & the cute big owl. But there's more! The colorful butterflies & lots of farm animals.

Dartmoor Otters & Buckfast Butterflies is at Buckfastleigh, just off the A38 midway between Exeter and Plymouth, and is located at the South Devon Railway's main station. Hop on the train to Totnes (Riverside) and you'll find the award winning Totnes Rare Breeds Farm adjacent to the station there. Totnes (Riverside) is a c. 500 yard walk from Totnes main line station and linked by footpaths to the town centre.
