On my recent visit to Spain I toured around the Costa Brava area of Catalonia and spent a lot of time in the city of Girona. While there I took a 3 day 2 night live like a local tour where I visited an organic dairy farm and learned how to milk a cow, practiced with the famous Castellers, went kayaking, ate copious amounts of great food and had a cooking and class and so much more. We started the morning at Hotel El Ferrés. Darren pulled out his DJI Phantom 4 drone and filmed the incredible scenery around our hotel from high in the sky.
We began what would be a flat and laid back ride (55 km/34 mi) from Joanetes to Girona.
The weather was fantastic. It was an absolutely amazing day for a bicycle tour in Catalonia.

Romanyà de la Selva1 or Romañá de la Selva2 (officially and in Catalan Romanyà de la Selva) is a population center of the municipality of Santa Cristina de Aro, in the region of Bajo Ampurdán, in the province of Gerona, Spain.
With 270 inhabitants in the year 2005, it consists of an old nucleus, formed by pairal houses, the rectory and the church of Sant Martí de Romanyà, its nave with a Greek cross plan dates from the 10th century and the bell tower from the 11th century.
Located in the heart of the Sierra de les Gavarres and about 6 km from Playa de Aro, in the center of the Costa Brava.
The old parish of Romanyá de la Selva was one of the four foundational parts of the current municipality of Santa Cristina de Aro, when it was segregated in 1808 from Castillo de Aro. Documented since 1019, the population was mainly dedicated to the exploitation of forest resources, to rainfed and irrigated crops - in addition to some sporadic vineyards - and, more secondarily, to livestock.
With the development of the Spanish economy, one of the rural owners undertook the creation of an urbanization of summer residences adjacent to the old Romanyá nucleus at the end of the 1960s. It took advantage of the great development of the tourist industry in the neighboring Costa Brava center and the growth of the demand for second vacation homes in the area

Trying something new here… a travel video! All of the video was shot on a Samsung S8+ cell phone and edited in FCPX. I did not apply any stabilization in FCPX… only what the cell phone stabilization provided.
This video shows me and a buddy of mine taking a day trip to Besalú and Girona, Spain. I share some history of the two towns, show you some of the sites, talk about how to get there and much more! I tried to add a little humor as well but noticed many areas I would like to add or change things on the next travel video.

The province of Girona is situated in the autonomous community of Catalonia, and is divided into the three areas: The Costa Brava (coastal region), the inland region, and the mountainous area of the Girona Pyrenees.

Girona is a small city northeastern of the Catalonia region in Spain. . Girona has beautiful medieval architecture, eleven bridges and a stunning river, the River Onyar.
Girona has a walled Old Quarter (Barri Vell) with the 9th century medieval wall surrounding the city, previously use for defence purposes. The remains of the wall are of the Roman period Força Vella fortress.
Girona, is filled with stunning gardens, the Passeig Arqueològic,which leads you through the Old Quarter’s medieval walls, and abbeys and bell towers. Girona often has festivals and concerts within the Old Quarters medieval walls and also in the Passeig Arqueològic area.
